I adore those Panzer Russes. The FW Exterminator & Annihilator turrets work so well.

@ Chartist Captain: Well, i just looked at what IA I tells me i need for a regiment. Thats six Atlases ! So as i have two regiments i need twelve !
I think the SHARV can count as three so that would mean i still need another six O.o

Your annihilator turned out great Im with Codsticker on the action pics.looks ace !

@ Skinflint Games: Looking great ! Mind taking a scale picture ?

    @ Codsticker: Cheers, Mate

    @Codsticker - thanks man!

@SDKFZ - thank you! Not sure how to do that, but loads of pics detailing the build/paint process here: https://skinflintgames.wordpress.com...rmour-in-1-72/

@Chartist Captain- love the panzer look! Definitely going to (ahem) "borrow" some ideas there :-)

    Thanks Guys!

Damn Skinflint! I messed around with 1/72 very briefly. It was cool being able to build up a large army quickly and not take up too much space but it was just too small for me to be able to paint to any competent level. The best for making a large battle diorama though! Those came out really well.

This is my latest project. I was hoping to make a Krieg Tauros Venator but the scale quickly got out of hand with the big goliath tires, so I settled on a Krieg Taurox. Looks inspired by the KFZ69/70 Heavy Field Car.

There is certainly some similarities to the KFZ 70, that's for sure. Another excellent piece of work on your part.

I really wish he would sell that excellent turret separately.
Sons of Fenris they are, hardened in the forge of their harsh world, eager for battle and honour. The grey warriors, ashen like the wolf, whose greatest joy is to hear the clamour of steel amidst the din of war. None can step before them, they are the first, proud in their strength and jealous of their renown. Through the storms of the warp they come, upon the very tides of terror, but of such dangers they are uncaring. They are the Space Wolves, the Undefeated, the bane of the Emperors foes.

Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

Sovietred-I don't normally care for side sponsons but those look pretty good! Still think the side by side hatches on the turret top make the build stand out the most from others.

Okay so instead of painting the field car I made a new vehicle after I wanted to run my PanzeRuss Exterminator instead of proxy it for a punisher. The mechanicus found some plans for a Mars Alpha PantheRuss which could accommodate the punisher cannon and meet my taste. The PantheRuss has incorporated heavier armor in its design to maintain the same level of protection as the standard Mars Alpha hull despite its shorter engagement ranges. Offsetting the increased weight of the armor is a more robust power pack with redundant filtration and exhaust systems. Got the idea from a FB converter group. Didn't think it was going to come out right but as normal after a few tear downs, historical consultations, and rebuilds I'm happy. I originally had landraider tracks which kind of matched the wider tracks on the real thing but it just didn't work. I still got to get some more door flap track guards for the other side and make front track guards. The turret came out pretty well considering I jut slapped plastic card over a standard GW turret, unfortunately I couldn't keep the lower turret armor closer to the hull due to rotation clearance issues. Fits in with the rest of the family well too!

Looks cool. Is that a Schmalturm ? Thought about widening the tracks ? These look like Transportketten.

Well, I'm back to modelling my guard, with the short marine hiatus mostly over. I've been working on sovietreds excellent Leader Ratss kit (the older version, before it included the sponsons, will have to pick up some of those...) now, anyone have any ideas for a rear mounted radio? My inspiration for this is the M42, which had a radio mounted on the back so that infantry marching with the tank could use that to communicate with the tank's commander/ with other units. I was thinking maybe a trimmed down voxcaster, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was also thinking about modifying some tauroxes to act as salamander stand-ins. Making them look something along the line of the humvee. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

@Chartist Captain- looking good on the PantheRuss, love the look of that turret.

I did the following, and popped another heavy bolter on the roof. Wheels are from a 1/32 german artillery carriage

This is a counts as Leman Russ:

The 'Panther' Russ is likely to be my main battle tank but I am likely to change the Chimera design into something much more amphibious
