Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

@Chartist Captain & @Colonel Jacka: The smoke launchers and front HB in here.

@Colonel Jacka: The the Rhino / Hedgerow is mean the sharp hull front? This inspired by IS-3 tank, it weld, so I don`t put rivets.

@SanguinaryDan: I`m working in assemble manual and making some samples, in early of Aug it will be done.

    SR,

Just noticed the other hull front and your latest photo of the Turret and there's a gun port there. You have lots of guns to go on the front hull I see as well. Also, those smoke launchers are the best I've seen. They really work well. Do the hatches come of the Turret. SDKFZ will love this one.

I have two links here about Rhino-Hedgerows. I think you should call the tank the "Culin" Leman Russ and link three explains why.

The twin-battle cannon/conqueror cannon will called Prowler, the sharp head will called Vanguard, the twin-vanquisher will called Apocalypse. All the tank is LeaderRats

No, the pikenose style frontal armor is fine, except for that ball style mount. It changes the angle and increases risk of penetration. See, the pikenose works by increasing the angle or impact to increase relative thickness without increasing actual thickness. This is a weight-saving measure in certain Russian and Chinese heavy tanks. It stands out, will draw fire, and risk penetration on a ricochet.

I do like the round uparmored turret. Slap some Kontact 5 on there, and we're good.

The brush cutter is totally unnecessary. We're looking at a heavy tank, it's un-needed due to the tank's sheer mass. A better detail would be brush guards around the headlights to protect them.

I've almost finished the basic construction of my FW Stormhammer and the idea of magnetizing 24 sponson weapons, knowing that I'll probably never use anything but the heavy bolters, is truly appalling.

What do I do? Bite the bullet and do it? Just glue on the HBs and not worry? Arrrrgggghhhh!

Right finished the sixth MK III Leman Russ. This one a Vanquisher and she has reinforced frontal Armour, a Kriegan Turret, a Mars Alpha Hull with Hvy Bolters all around, a angry Red bearded Crew Commander dude with a Las Pistol and Stubber of course. Next one will be a MK III LR Battle Tank. I aim to have it finished by weeks end.

Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

Chartist - Excellent work on that Panzeruss - I would have suggested something else for the main gun if you field it as a punisher - the layout as it is suggests an Exterminator variant. It's fiddly as hell, but a 1/35 scale M61 Vulcan gun would probably look pretty at home on that design. Separate the mantlet, magnetize it and get a second mantlet so you could see if it looks decent for you.

Jacka - cracking along quite nicely, looking good, keep up the good work.

Baron Iveagh - note in Soviet's latest post that the version of the front with the ball mount does not have the pure pikenose, it's got a straight-faced section on the frontal armor, it just angles down onto the sides. Still presents the shot trap but it works better with the design as posted.

Soviet - speaking of, those look absolutely gorgeous. Great paintjob as usual.

SDKFZ - Good to see you return to the fold, man. Keep up the good work, looking like your usual grade of effect here.

The two crew members bring able to stand out of their own hatches looks really cool soviet!

Is that the old FW shadowsword SDKF? I've been fielding mine every other game lately and am pretty happy with its damage output.
