@ Bigglesworth:I bought the thunderer some time ago and it was OK, not crisp but OK. Ive seen alot more destroyers then i have thunderers so i guess
thats the more populare kit. And going on from there........
Those kits/molds ar quite a few years old, so i think
its very likely that the mold is worn out.
Yeah it seems likely, though they must have done a remaster of them at some point because the Eagle on the front of the hull above the drivers vision port is a lot bigger and more detailed than ones I've seen in pictures, I.e its more like the one you get with a chimera.

I really want a destroyer so I'm happy to try and fix this one, replacing rivets and small details is not beyond me, I would just rather not have to! Also there are a few small holes and gaps almost like serious corrosion you would find in a wreck! though thats not what I'm going for. The biggest issue is the engine cover grill that looks more like orange peel. I could cover it up with the DKoK tank air filters, but that seems a waste. I'll see how the phone call goes with them tomorrow. Other solution would be to covert a mars Alpha pattern Hull into my own Pattern. I've seen a few destroyer conversions on the internet, though I always thought it was because people did not want to pay full price for the kit, though now it occurs to me it may be because the kit is a bit rubbish

    Thanks for your input.

I thought id take some scalepics. of how the Mach. and the Mort. look side by side.
Ok, I'm confused now... where is the smaller one from? Forgeworld? Cause I'd love to get one of those turrets!!

The tank is called mortian battle tank. It's sold by Heavysupport.de

The guy behind the homepage hasn't been out of business for a while, but he confirmed in a thread on Warseer that the tanks are available. They are extremely nice models I have to say, exactly what the Leman Russ should have been. And really easy to magnetize. Really slow service though from what I've heard. I tried to buy one last summer but they were never shipped so after five weeks or so I cancelled my purchase and was happy to find a couple of them on ebay.

Pity... I'd love to get a turret. I'm designing a "Command Leman Russ", and that turret would be great...

Not much managed over the past week but it's slowly getting there, still need to add a front to the middle box (not sure if I'll keep that box or change it to another) and some doors to the side boxes. Still got a hell of a lot of work to do plus about 60 or so sandbags to make to place around the tank, but slowly and surely and all that

Hey, Nedsta, that looks great Is that a custom enginehatch i see
The center box will have to store things that dont mind getting "smoked" The exhausts will go right in.
Not sure that you want to do this, or youve planed something special to go in this box, but how about shortening it abit so i clears those exhausts ?
Like to see this tank grow.

Yeah I'm really not sure about the box mate. Might end up making a little machine God shrine instead. Engine grills are just cut down panther pieces. How are you getting on with yours?
