Looks promising indeed. In fact it looks better like this than most of my attempts with plasticard has done finished...

    Sigh...

Well, I guess that answers the "what's next" question.

By any chance, did you see the pictures of the Red Orktober from Adepticon? I immediately thought of you the first time I saw it.

Dunno what red orktober is, is it the big gun?

Pulled it apart this morning and fixed the lower hull and re arranged the position of the main gun more to the right, making it a bit more similar to the isu tanks.

I like that halftrack, although I can't help but feel it needs another wheel in that gap. Still, make sure you post when it's painted up!

Jumping in to the tread heads thread in the hope of getting some input, on my first real tank alteration job, before I finish putting it all together (hence the tape)

I wanted to turn a couple of chimeras that I had kicking around into Vanquishers, because my army list has Vanquishers in it, but no chimeras, plus I like the look of the Chimera hull more than the Leman Russ

Rebuilt front with armor plates to justify the higher armor value, no troop compartment, and a nice big gun in a higher turret.

edit: A second option for the gun itself, which I think makes a nice improvement.

Think I'll get away with my count as Vanquisher?

@Explodingboy: I can't help but feel like the last option looks more like a long-barrelled autocannon rather than an anti-tank gun. Maybe a bore evacuator or muzzle brake would help?

If I didn't know any better i would have said that the last option looks like a nazzy looking Autocannon Chimera than a Vanquisher

Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

The turret itself needs to be bigger for me, and the bore of the gun is too small. As above, it just looks like a larger Auto-Cannon, though if you had 4 handy they would work to make a Hydra...

The Red October is a famous fictional submarine. Although I've never seen the conversion I would therefore hazard a guess that the Red Orktober is an Ork submersible warship of some description.

It was a Space Hulk in the 3rd War for Armageddon campaign. reputed to carry an Ork Mek dubbed "Orkimedes" - inventor of the Teleporta that allowed large numbers of greenskins to bypass the orbital defences of Armageddon.

I know, the Tom Clancy book, or the film with the Scottish Russian.

I just couldn't think of any big things other than the Ork Rail Gun so took a wild guess. Tis a pretty good model...bit small.

    barrel attempt number 3,

advice taken and brake muzzle added to try and get away from the Auto cannon look, also added a scope on top.. inspired by something that I'm pretty sure exists in reality but I couldn't say what tank I've seen it on.

    look anti tank enough yet?

(still looking at options for expanding the turret itself.

I must say, I really like that ISU style shadowsword. Works really well. Add a few fuel cans on the side and it'll be perfect
