Lots of interesting tanks in here as usual. I've been a bit lacking in tanks of late, I'ver got lots sitting around to be made but no time to make them.

    Looking good with the Fellblade.

    That Hedgehog looks excellent.

Digitsdavid, I like the supply vehicles, these kind of things really add character to the army. It is also nice to see that the Michelin Company are still making tyres in the 41st millennium.

Well Sovietred, heres my Hedgehog -paint.

Done some minor work on it, like the eagle on the radardish. Think ill give it some headlights too.

Also made some of the weathering on the Tauros.

Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

Just found this and thought I should throw my stuff in as well.

As an explanation for the different paintjobs...Mannerheim's soil is unusually high in iron oxide compounds...hence the strange looking dirt.

The vehicles with the urban camo pattern are part of the Mannerheim 23rd S.O.C. (PDF, stationed directly in the capital) while the iron oxide colored ones are from the 69th "LeadFarmers" Armored Regiment (operating mostly in the badlands; hence the great maintenance on the vehicles).

The last 2 I've painted. MOTTI is the PBS's transport and MORTIS the Manticore.

My 2 Russes, both with a few subtle mods...and one sporting hand scanner - secured beer coolers.

Yes, the Executioner...thehehe, I wanted to have one since I first read Gaunt's Ghosts. I amost feel bad using him against SM's, almost.

My tag team of DOOOOM. SPRITE the DevilDog and DRAKE the Hellhound. Drake has hand-cut extra armor; not that you see much of it with that camo scheme.

Pip of my as yet unnamed Bassie.

    Stupid picture limit...

I've got one more pip for you:

    Mannerheim pattern Vendetta

I love painting big models but I have to admit the Vendetta is starting to get at my nerves

    Juggernaunt those are blooming awesome.

Love the weathering on the Chimera and Manticore, and all that extra stowage on the Russ tanks just screams veteran crews.

    J101,

Great vehicles mate. Excellent Urban Camo as well. One little critique though, the netting on that Stubber would produce a great smoke screen after the first 50 rds. Additional equipment really works well. I got a couple of ideas from your efforts.

@ Sovietred: Great kit, Mate ! Had no problems with it at all. The only thing that i can say is that the turret hatchs not big enough to place a standard GW crew-man in. I had to do a special cutdown commander to fit the hatch.

    Great work, Mate !

Wow, this coming from you makes me blush

As far as the Stubber goes...ehem...I KNEW there was something off with that, I just couldn't put my finger on it. On closer inspection...it would probably set the canvas on fire...maybe it is water drenched for cooling purposes???...nope I just screwed up. Ah well, live and learn
If you like you can follow the link in my sig to see some pre-paint picts of the tanks (and some infantry), it might help.

So happy to hear that, I was afraid of questions like:" Dude, why are your tanks falling apart; don't they have an enginseer?"

BTW, seeing as I'm in the competent hands of tank buffs here...
My fuel cans always make me scratch my head. The "mouth" of the cans point outwards on my Executioner and inwards on the Russes...Which is the "right" way around. IS there a right way??? I know this sounds anal and it really isn't a big deal but I'm going to build a full Tank Company and want to get it right.

    Thanks,
    Juggernaut

Crews are Human, Humans are Lazy, (there's always at least one) so it probibly doesnt really matter as someone will mess it up... Or you can put it down to Tank Commander preference....
