Late, but as promised here are the 4 vehicles in my I-ntegrated A-ir D-efense N-etwork. They still need a lot of work, particularly the search radar vehicle, (not even sure what it would "counts as" but it looks cool. ) but with two Hydras and a SAM launcher I should be able to keep the skies clear over my part of an APOCALYPSE battlefield. Assuming I ever play APOC again that is.

Nice IAD. Really like the Search radar. I'd write up a data sheet for the Search radar, and the vehicles as a formation -- Search radar allows hydras and manticores in the formation to take one shot each at flyers as they arrive -- similar to the way that mystics used to work in the Daemon Hunters Codex.

It's from the B5Wars EA Heavy Carrier. Can't remember what I did with the rest of the ship, but the Launch Bays do make a pretty good 40K radar.

SD, thats an impressive AA force youve made there !

The Hydra on the left seems to have parts from all over the place, cool !

Hope you get around to playing some APOC, i find that these games are usualy more fun to play than the normal 40k ones.

It's also very interesting to me to see the SovietRed/Ratgard model next to the Forge World incarnation. Thanks for the pic!

    HEY ! Sovietred ! Im done !

And heres another pic. of the two Hydras.

Think that the Hedgehog look rather good in my Army, as it has a more modern look to it.

@SanguinaryDan: I like the ADN idea, maybe I should put the radar vehicle in plan lol; and the SAM launcher reminds me of RedAlert 2.

@SDKFZ: So happy to see the finished Hedgehog, I especially like the abrade in the barrels. May I quote these pics to my website?

@SSG Snuffy: Looking forward to your comment

I feel very flattered that you want to use mine as a inspirational model.

Glad you noticed my try at some "wear and tear".

Re: The Imperial Guard Tread-head thread

I think it's a very favorable comparison... seeing the two side-by-side (courtesy of SanguinaryDan and SDKFZ) is a real treat. The Forge World version's turret looks like that of the Flakpanzer Gepard, whereas the Ratgard version resembles (to my eyes) the Chinese Type 95. I like the hull modifications that go with the Hedgehog, though SanguinaryDan has proven that they aren't necessary to use the turret.

The Hedgehog turret has more unadorned flat surfaces, and seems to lack some of the intricate detail that the FW Hydra has... this is neither good nor bad, just different. The turret is slimmer, shorter, and smaller, with shorter and less massive gun barrels. I agree with SDKFZ that the Hedgehog has a more modern look than the FW Hydra. In fact, I think the Hedgehog would look great combined with a Chapterhouse Rapid Response wheeled kit, whereas the Hydra turret would look funny.

In short, I believe I'm going to start dropping hints for the missus... I'd very much like to add a Hedgehog to my IG force.

EDIT: I almost forgot! SDKFZ, those are a couple of really nice models. Great work, sir, and thank you for sharing the pictures!

Love the work that's been added, it really does a nice job.

I have a thought for that Search Radar as a counts as rule - The Signum from the Space Marine Devastators Entry - in lieu of shooting, it boosts a unit member's BS up to 5. Good for when you want something very dead very fast.

A Colossus and two (2!) Leviathans still to go and he says "nearly finished!"

Your stuff always amazes me, Tinners. Nice job on the Hellhounds!
