Orcs & Gobbo's, 5000 points and growing.

Sooo... here's what's going on.
Already got past 8000 points ready for battle, another 1500 in spare characters, special and rare choices, and about 2000 points of unpainted stuff. The aim is a versatile orc&gobbo horde that has at least one of everything, and usually a bit more. Progress is always slow with me, so I'll take my time and updates may take a while.

I figured it would be nice to keep a bit track of what I still got to do, and what is done, during this log.

Red = somewhere between not assembled, through building and converting to applying greenstuff

You should be able to find pictures of all finished models (green) in this blog, and quite a few WIP pics of both assembly and painting but not a complete record for those, and some of the models I finished earlier (grey). Okay, I also managed to find a last bit of daylight outside, so heres a few pics of the real stuff!

Currently in the conversion department, boar boyz:



I'm making these with the legs from the command sprue.

And for painting, I'm now working on spider riders and trolls.
One troll finished, two just one layer of dark angel green. I hope to finish these somewhere in the next few weeks:



And spider riders. Two finished, 3 riders to go. I hope to get one or two of these done tomorrow:



And lastly, I'm also working on Badruk 'Eadsplitta as champion for my second unit black orcs I just finished last week. No pic now, but when he's done, I'll try to snap a shot.

As for the spiders, good job on the painting. I myself don't like very much the sculpt of the spider, especially the head. When I look at the picture of real spiders you provided, I can't help thinking that GW could have done a better job than what they actually did (compare the head of the spider in the 2nd link with the sculpt).
However, the sculpt of shelob from the Lotr range is great (but I think they had to make it resemble the one in the movie). By the way, "she" would make a perfect giant spider for a goblin boss to ride.

The design is quite old, its one of the first things I made for this army (and one of the first things I did for warhammer at all) and represents my tribe which I named "Thunderfist clan" back then.

Also, finished two more spider riders this weekend. 1 to go, and after this its on to the trolls:

Very simple actually. Graveyard earth, bleached bone, and a lot of drybrushing...

During the week, when I'm in my room in the town where I study, I usually do some work on stuff that is easy to do in large numbers.
So currently, I'm working on snotlings, which are mainly green anyway.

I've got these, which are a normal snotling converted a bit to fit on the model called "bastet, neferata's cat" and one of the snotlings that goes with the old pump wagon who will act as my shaman:



And also some snotlings. The left one will be my fifth swarm base, the other are the crew of my 5th edition pump wagon (since the are 2 for 1 rare, I figured a second one would be appropriate...):

Also cool news, I started a thread about some older stone troll models to find out what people know about them, and since then I succesfully managed to find one, unpainted, and bought it via ebay!

I hope to get it within a couple of weeks... And ofcourse I need to find the other two.

And something else, I figured it would be nice to show some of my more unusual bosses. Here's from left to right: A big boss in chariot, Bogoff the Snotling, a big boss that usually is fielded with the iron gnasha's and a goblin boss on wolf.

Stone trolls look good, I thought there were only six stone trolls in all, but now I know there is 7, I will have to track them down. These are a must have for my Night goblin army.
