hi there,
with the legs almost finished i decided to share my current running (or maybe better said walking) project also in this forum.
.
the intention when i stated planing this project last year and than finaly starting with building in february08 was to build something realy big.
-
and because of the fact that on the one hand my army favours using walkers and titans and on the other hand my bitzbox seemed to hold enough defilerparts and stuff to build a solid highly detailes pair of legs i decided to build another titan.
...
concept:
the concept for this one is about 2,5 years old and came to my mind, while i was still busy building my old titan. (some of you maybe know and still remember) i wanted use legs from a mechanical pov relatively close to those from forgeworlds warhound, but of course much bigger and by far more detailed. and - if possible with a mechanical concept that could actualy work.
but than i decided to finish several other projects first and waited for more than 18 months with continueing on this idea, again.
further it was a pretty good time to do so, with apo about to be released and everyone elso also starting to build more or less huge warmachines.
...
and than came the first sneeks from the upcoming fw's reaver.
and i was happy that the model turned out to become looking not realy movable at all and so much not equal to my concept that i thought it should be relatively easy to build something as or even more impressing.
...
...
so what i did was starting with the legs which turned out to becoem more and more tricky, everyday i spent thinking about the mechanism.
finaly i found a mechanism realy working, movable and stable enough to hold the titans weight.
than i needed to choose the legs positioning and decided to realize a walking position to keep the titan as agile looking as posible.
and from this day on i spend adding detail, armor and stuff until i decided to glue the legs in the final position and continue with the hip.
...
well .... and this brings us directly to the current status ....
...
hopefully you'll enjoy this project and put some comments down there, which are - as always- highly appreciated.
-
i'll keep on posting updates on every bigger i cahnge or progress i'll do until finishing this beast ....
