[Metal Fingered Villain]

Well I took a small break from the hobby due to school but I am back into it. I recently dug out the old deathguard and laid them out, ready to continue work. I have around 6 squads in various stages of completion between sculpting and painting. Along with the plagure marines are some bikes, terminators and some tanks. These models have been in various stages of completion for several years and my aim is to get most of them ready for painting by early june. This log will also eventually log the progess on my daemon army once I can obtain some of the models. Well I'm sure I'm boring you with my long dull rant about this log and I'm sure you all just want to see some pictures. None of these models are finished yet but here you go.

Great to see you returning to this army, MFV. Love the greenstuff-work, particulalry the terminator -- though that reaper AC barrel looks really long.
I also think the land raider sculpting is very striking.
I'll be following this one closely.

Yea, its one of the IG autocannons, I'm pondering ripping it off and putting a heavy flamer on instead. I havn't gamed in a while let alone with any sort of marine army, are heavy flamers effective weapons on termi's?

Its good to see another refugee from those forums here, its a shame the place died out. The landraider sculpt is quite old but I think the new paint scheme helps a little, theres quite a bit in the works, most progress is halted while I wait for more paint and greenstuff however. On a side note, I snapped some more pictures.

Your sculpting is brilliant, and really captures the feel of Nurgle especially the nurgle helmets on the marines. The work on the Landraider is also very nice, one thing though.

The teeth on top of one of the lascannon sponsons seem to just be resting on the Raider chassis, maybe you could have the teeth biting into the tank.

Yeah, everyone from DG.org is still around in certain places. A bunch of guys are over at Bolter and Chainsword(they even did a DG.org skin for the site) and there's a new nurgle forum linked in my sig. It's only a handful of guys there so far but it's the only dedicated Nurgle site I know of.

Anyway, that DP looks great. I recognize the lord but IIRC the plastic bits are new. Also, I was wondering the colors you used for the Daemon skin, They look great and I'd like to try something similar on my daemons.

This army is shaping up to be something incredible. The sculpting is excellent and the 'carapace' effect on the armour is fantastic. Might a suggest a regal blue/liche purple shade in the purple areas though, think it would really bring it to life.

Thanks for all the comments guys the added support of knowing some other people like what I'm doing really helps push the work along. Positive reinforcement is very clutch. I've ordered 3 more tubes of greenstuff today as well as a soul grinder, they should be here within the next few days. Does the warstore have fast shipping?

Well, it seems I'll have to start up a log over at B&C then, I've wondered what pake and nipples and all you other diseased chums have been up to. That skin on the landraider I believe is a mix of tanned flesh, ultramarine blue, liche purple warlock purple and rotting flesh. I've found the best way to find good paint mixtures is to just goof around and really mix the stuff up.

I've actually been meaning to pick up some regal blue, I've been shading them with liche purple and ultramarine blue, but thats almost more of a wash as its not very dark, it just enriches the colour. I will have to pick up some regal however, its quite dark and as you said, I also think would work quite nicely. Alright guys, I'm off to Uni for the day, I'll snap some more pictures when I get back, I've almost got the first half of my first bloodletter squad painted, I have until next weekend to get 600 paints purchased and painted for a small local tourney. Best painted gets a free daemon battalion/battleforce.

Thanks, for the teeth, each individual tooth was rolled out, shaped and left to dry, then a sausage of greenstuff with more yellow then blue mixed in so its a little softer is stuck into the mouth for the gums, with a pair of tweezers I then lodged each tooth into the piece of greenstuff in his mouth and voila. I also mentioned earlier that I would snap some pics of the WIP blood letters, the skin is still very much not doen a long with everything else on the models, the bases are really the only thing closest to finished. The pictures also turned out quite dark despite several lights on the models. Meh, I'll have to retake 'em when the daemons are finished.
