how many shots will an eldar ranger need on his long rifel to play one game?

, in total he's got 10 at the moment but is that toomuch? because it costs a lot,7.5 per shot

I usually allow 10 shots for each of my 2 rangers per game, and combined with a shuriken pistol or two it tends to be enough. Then again my warband consists solely of these two rangers so in most missions they can't afford to sit back all game and be dedicated snipers. If that's the role you've got in mind for your ranger then you might need more ammo.

my GM has set 500 pts for a warband
190 for my harlequin (pirate prince stats) kiss and shuriken pistol
177 ranger long rifel with7 extra reloads
141 for the pirate power sword and shuriken pistol

The ready reconer [points system] for Inquisitor is about the most pointless thing they have made for it. Would you swap that power sword on your pirate for a chainsword at exactly the same points?

More than enough, I should say. A good sniper - like an Eldar ranger, say - should only need to take ONE shot to make it count.

Bear in mind that you start the game with one up the spout, but will then need a turn to get into position, a turn (at least) to aim and fire and probably another turn to reload the rifle and regain your firing position. Even with Speed 6, it's surprising how often you roll six 3s...
