    Dante paints Triad (Urban Mammoth)

Decided to start a small log devoted to my little Urban Mammoth force. They are miniatures of a group called the Triad. I have to admit straight away I don't play this game I just loved the miniatures.

It all started went I went to a wargaming show and bought this guy-

He was really fun to paint and I enjoyed a nice break from my Blood Angels (Anything to not paint anymore red!).

My Dad got me the basic starter set for Christmas and I ended up with these guys-

I'm really looking foward to painting the samura and nabuki doll.

At the moment I've nearly finished a normal retainer-

I've just to finish the 'bows' around his feed, all the black areas, glaze the metals and then do the base and he's all done.

Will update once he's finished in a day or two.

    Thanks for looking!

I always assumed that Urban Mammoth stuff would look crappy for some reason, but this is very cool! They are GW standard sort of speak, all plastic right?

By the way, how big are they compared to GW minis? Are they cheaper as well?

These are metal. I think they do some plastics but the majority seem to be metal. All my models for example are metal.

For a sense of scale. They are the same height. Allthough the space marine is higher he's on a raised base.

All the models photographed apart from the one with the long spear cost me £18.00. So I think they aren't expensive but certainly not the cheapest. I have to say though the quality is amazing. I had very little preperation work to do on any of the models.

Ah, I love Triads! I've always felt that the triads, the gladiators, and the colonial marines were the best models to come out of UW. I'm an old school Void player (Junkers DCVII Scorpion Convict Legion), but I've been thinking of starting up urban War, and your Triads are certainly pushing me along! Great work making all the detail pop out without overwhelming the mini's look!

wow, I just realized I finished every sentence in this post with an exclamation point. (!)

Hey, like the colour scheme. Nice and bold.

Always good to see Urban War being posted.. I've got small viridian and syntha forces myself.

Anyone interested in the minis or the game should check out http://www.urbanmammoth.com/ They have the full rulebook and about 200MB of hobby content available as free .pdf downloads.

They do a lot of gaming shows too which is great. Anyone in the northwest should try Phalanx in St Helens. It's small but worth the visit. Urban Mammoth usually have a stall there

And thanks for all the comments. Will get the retainer finished today after work.

    Yeah I've post a few.

    Also some here-

I usually hate posting pictures as they always look crap. I spent hours blending the orange on the models but the details don't show so the photos don't show how good I feel the models are. A common problem I think

Long time no update. I've finished the base on the retainer I did a while ago. I'm also nearly finished on another two retainers.

Ahhh beautiful. Nice dynamic pose and placing of the mini. One crit would be that yo should subdue the base, as it's hazard colour scheme detracts from the equally bright colour scheme of the miniature. And the miniature, not the base, ought to be the focus!!! Otherwise, awesome stuff.

Fair comment. I love my yellow hazard lines. They go everywhere on my models

I would suggest that you give your base a coat or two of really thinned down black and brown ink to make it look less sparkling. Otherwise a very nice project!
