Crandall's Log of Everything

Well So many times I have posted logs and not finished them. I usually have a great idea for an army and have another one before I finish my previous army so logs die and armies become unfinished. So instead of cluttering up warseer with loads of unfinished logs I have decided just to stick everything I do from now on in this one thread.

My latest army idea is 'The Sons of The Phoenix' Space Marine army. I have posted these on B&C but will post here for now on.

You may have already seen my quad bike. I am planning on some trikes and an attack bike.

The company champion is almost painted. He just need sharper highlights on the black.

I am thinking of making a little diorama with him and another space marine walking a dog. I am a bit disappointed at my lack of green stuff skills on this one but I have neatened him up since that pic.

Loving your conversion work - especially the Marine reading - excellent quirky idea & well executed.

Also any chance of a tutorial for the quad bike? - I've always loved the idea of these.

The only difference on my bike is that I have a terminator body back half between the two rear wheels and I used plastic tube to mount the front wheels.

Some more updates. I have used the new inks for the first time and have painted up this bloodletter. I am planning on maybe starting a Khorne Daemon's army. I am happy with how this guy turned out. I have had a box of bloodletters for a while now and will get the rest painted up at some stage.



The son's of the phoenix are getting some attention too. Here is a WIP trike.



And here us very early progress on the attack 'bike'.



The chapter master is about 50% painted and the standard is about 10% done. I will post pics of those two when they are done.

It's been a long while since my last post.

The command squad isn't getting anywhere fast. To be honest I find the colour scheme a bit boring. I have also decided to put the space marines on hold a bit until the new codex is out. In the mean time I will be working on more daemons.

I have nearly finished my first 8 bloodletters and I have also converted this.

Just a test scheme I have done using the new inks. May make a couple more guys using this scheme.

I have several pics for updates which I'll get on now but just to give you something here's in the brass scorpion I've been working on. I'm not sure whether to include the leg plates or not as I want it to have a mechanical feel and the bare legs and claws represent this better IMO.

Here is my skarbrand conversion. I do have better pics on my comp but it's buggered so I took a new one for another post and thought i'd share it here too. I will post better pics when I can.

The axes are form the minotaur lord model and the armour is from the defiler. I also use horns from csm helmets.

Your Skarbrnad looks nice,but there's one problem...He as his wings ripped apart from when he was thrown sky high by Khorne...

Yeah I know his wings were ripped apart. Mine do have various holes in them but those balrog wings are far too nice to rip apart. Also I may use this guy as a bloodthirster too.

Updates! No seriously..

I am concentrating more on my spartan space marines at the moment but I still have daemons to paint so I'll try and cram it in.

I do have 15 bloodletters painted.



I have basically given up on an army of the Sons of the Phoenix but I still want to get the command squad done and maybe get a nice base for them. The Chapter master guy is nearly done.
