Thank you Nuke_arts! If you are the same Nuke_arts I think you are, your approval means a lot! =D
Its been ages since I took part in any table-top tournament and went into with a 1000 point 6th Ed 40k "Sector Skirmish" on Saturday.
I didn't place top 3 but I made it for "Best Appearance" with my Sons of Lukyemia.
Included in this list was a Terminator Librarian I scratched built just for this tournament. He displayed some heroics in every game! In my 2nd game versus a Necron player, he prevented me from suffering a total wipe by surviving a last ditch shooting phase by the entire Necron army.
Heroic stuff. =D
His arms are magnetized so I can swap the staff out for a Power Sword (I found out WYSIWYG means his weapon is a Force Staff... and at AP4 they kinda suck. =P)

Nice work putty, how did you paint the 'white' onto the landspeeders. Di you use washes? The tone look very even![]()
Thanks Daniel! It is good to be back! =D
I cheat with the white. A lot. (LOL).
I prime my SOL models with Vallejo White Primer (Acrylic-Polyurethane). This primer dries like gesso and clings to the surface of the model like a very thin layer of rubber.
I then apply some base colours like red and silver before sealing the model with a layer of matt varnish. I then airbrush the model with a thinned down wash of Vallejo Black ink. Then I lift off the wash with Tamiya X-20A via brush to resurface the white. There is some touch ups with panel lines and edges with glazes to better define the model. I sometimes use a pencil to draw out edges for the more weathered look.
The end result is a washed out white that looks weather beaten.
Warm up #2: Deathguard Rhino #1

Nice rhino, I like it.

Couldn't wait till I finish the basing to put these 2 Deathguard squads up... some nice turf is enroute to me so I'll post another picture when the bases are completed.
This pretty much wraps up all my DG models atm until I get new ones so it will be all catch up work after this...

Very nice ones. I don't think the lord feels very lordy though, where's his bling and/or mutations? Lovely weathering.
Cheers mrtn!
I decided to go for the simple route because its actually a SM biker conversion. i also opt out of the mutations because of WYSIWYG reasons. I guess the only bling he has is the giant hook behind the bike on the fender and the dragon head exhausts on his backpack xD. His arms are both magnetized in case I need to replace them with a power weapon / power fist... I guess I can always magnetize a mutated arm for fun in future. =P
Thats a whole lot o rats. I like that you went multi colored for the cloth.
