TWB any ideas on unit markings?
Are we just going to use the standard squad number on shoulder pad, company colour on shoulder trim. Do we want to vary it between squads like some of the examples in the marine codex and 'How to paint SMs'. I get the feeling we are going to need something to unify these groups of 10 character models into squads. Do you think we need a thread about this or is that opening a can of worms?
I was going to open a thread about it when the Badge and Colours polls had closed, but I may just do it now . . . . .

is there going to be a colour palette suggested for us to use when the colour scheme is chosen?

I would have thought that would have been fairly essential if we aren't going to have a hundred different versions of the colour blue...
I suspect that this would be covered in a 'how to: Painting Guide' (would be happy to contribute there being quite a good painter meself).

Spread the word, fight the power, become the signal.
When the winning design has been established, the first thing I will do is ask the designer to give us a complete breakdown of the colours used.

I just checked the FAQ and there isn't much info on traits. (This is not intended as a criticism)
Based on the polls it looks like 'Trust your battle brothers' and 'See but don't be seen' which means we would be a notably divergent chapter.
That means we need a major disadvantage. The one that I've heard bandied about the most is 'Flesh over steel'.
Plasmadaemon is currently personalizing a crusader to donate to the chapter for the wastoids. The trouble is 'Flesh over steel' won't allow crusaders.
So I was wondering if anything had been decided about disadvantages? Would 'Eye to eye' cause problems? I don't think 'Aspire to glory' is an option.

The Traits Disadvantage poll will be coming soon, I'll throw each option open but I really think that Eye To Eye is our best bet, flesh over steel will instantly invalidate most of the tanks we'll get and there are some veterans who are desperate to have some stompy Terminator Armour, and you know how the first company can be when it doesn't get it's way![]()

You say groups shouldn't sign up to companies?
How will we know what Company we will be in? Or are you planning to use the groups to fill in the gaps that people don't sign up for?
Much abliged

Groups will have the option of picking which company their squad joins, this is partly why the battle companies have a 50% fill rate, to allow the Groups to pick where their squad goes (think of it as 50 little "reserved" notices on the first 50 seats in each company.Originally Posted by Adlan

I used to be cool... but then I lost my postcount.
I need to check something. The KGB was initially thought to number approx 6-7 people excluding our mascot, Lord Lucifer. That number has now doubled to approx 14-15, with a potential for 5 of them to be guilders. Now were were going to be a Command Squad for Luci's Librarian, only now we out number that squad size. So here's the point (ultimately). Since we want a command squad at the least, all 4 guilders, if they exist, will go in there. Where does that leave the 10 remaining people with their Marines in terms of command and specialists? Can they be KGB squad #2?
