what i think dark angels should get

i was looking around some gw shops looking for older space marines and though that dark angels should get them, i mean their the oldest chapter/legion out of all the marines so it would make sense that they have the oldest armour possibly. it may sound stupid but i think the space marines from the old imperial space marine box's from over a decade ago (they were all beakies) look far better than the current marines.

iv been a massive dark angels fan and i'd love to get my hands on old school marines (im often lurking around ebay trying to get as many as possible >)

anyway any1 elese think that dark angels should get remakes from older models? (for power armour at least). also their terminator squads need fixing, they hardly feel native american now compared to what they use to and the ravenwing just look like another chapters fast attack, if they cld add something to make their landspeeders stand out it would look so much better.

not really, maybe the Iron class armour (or helmet) as templars got the maximus helmet, who knows

How much older is the Dark Angel Legion compared to the other Legions, exactly? I'd say "not a whole lot". At least, not enough to justify them having a larger number of old suits.

What GW should do, is make a new box of plastic Space Marines, with pre-Heresy power armour. Generic space marines, free to convert as Dark Angels, Space Wolves or even Chaos Space Marines. THAT would be great.

I once encouraged Forgeworld to do this, but they simply stated that they had no plans of doing so

I know the Dark Angels are listed as the 'first' legion, but I was under the impression, from other threads, that this was not strictly a chronological title. Weren't all the marine legions founded at the same time? Certainly not founded far enough apart for there to be any noticeable difference between the first founding legions.

However, I do agree with the comments regarding a generic pre-heresy plastic kit. It would be very cool indeed.

They were all founded at the same time. All the Marines went out on the Crusade, and the Primarchs were assigned to the legions, not the legions to the Primarchs. This has been fairly consistent since 2nd Ed at least.

but the DAs were hte first legion to be reunited with their primarch and got all the funky kit first

i think the dark angels have in a way kept their native american image. they never run, neither did the Native Americans... well... most times. and thetre pissed cuz their homeworld got destroyed. i would be too, just like an native american when the white screwed them over so badly.
