I think he looks great- although I gad little trouble finding the face initially- so maybe a nose might be appropriate. The brows fit in really well with the rest of the branch -nice sculpting work. The only thing I might suggest in addition is maybe a beard of smaller branches jutting down and out to define the face area abit more. It's probably not the look you're going for- abit old man of the woods/ent type thing but just thought I'd mention it. He looks really great regardless and that witch hunter looks VERY impressive.

thanks, I know what you mean about the face blending in a it at the moment. The beard idea won't work ast the face-branch is actually sunked into the chest piece, but I'm hoping the fact his face will be green blending back out to brown at the edges in the same way ast the treekin will draw attention to it a little more

    Thanks

I'm sure that will look great- I thought the paint job would add definition- plus you want to suggest a face rather than actually have one. Looking forward to seeing him completed- as I said he looks awesome and that is a great build out of the trees.

I managed to find some time this week to get a bit more painting done on the army (although not as much as I'd hoped)

First up is my plastic treeman (full credit for the idea goes to Chrono for his excellant, and vastly superior to my own, plastic treeman conversion), I pushed ahead with painting it this weekend. There are a few things I learnt on this mini about using the same washing technique as the smaller models which I'll know to avoid next time (there's still another treeman to be built and painted for the force, afterall!).

I also managed to find some time in between waiting for washes to dry on the treeman, to paint up one of the branchwraith conversions. The photos of this aren't the best but I'm really pleased with it IRL

    Thanks

Wow, stunning. Does the Branchwraith rank up with the other dryads or do you not plan or anyone charging her? It's great how you've found a uniform technique you're happy with thats you've applied so well. Great stuff.

Wow! The treeman has worked out incredibly well- he looks fantastic and great that you are doing another one. That branchwraith is just amazing- so dynamic-absolute perfection mate, great work.

This is one of the best Warhammer armies I have ever seen.

Those look fantastic, Corai. Am I correct in assuming you use a black undercoat?

Fantastic Treeman and Branchwraith. Are you going to be converting your own treekin too?

Re: The Fae Folk - and army of Forest Spirits

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys!

Over the last 2 nights I've managed to finish off another unit for the army, this time it's the Wildriders. I was planning to use centaur conversions originally (as I didn't want to include any elves in the army, whether they possessed the forest spirit rule or not !) but decided this still wasn't going to realy look right in an army where every other model is a tree! With that in mind I've converted some horse riding dryads which are supposed to look as though the trees are part of the forest themselves, bursting forth from the underbrush. I'll let you decide how successful you think it's been:

    Maaaan, this is so cool.
Your army has such a complete and distinct feel to it.
The bases and added branches tie it all so beutifully together. Truly inspiring work here!
