The riverbank on the castle side is going to have a cave and a small harbour.

and a picture of a part of the city, with some randomly placed buildings, mostly from Zitardes. The exact lay-out of the walled town is not done yet. The spot where the bridge is reaches the town will have a gateway. Then down the riverbank there will be a small steep road for merchants to transport the cargo from the town to the harbour and ships. Also there will be a stairway, a shortcut for sailors to reach the town. All in all a very productive day. I'm glad because I was itching for months to make some progress on the table. :-)

oops, a double post. And thanks Modernkiwi! It's a trial and error thing, but I'm glad i have the space now to work on this project.

This is incredible. Huge scale and nice detailing

My only suggestion would be to take a small pair of scissors and cut off some small chunks of the pine needles from the pine trees just to make them a little more irregular. It is the only thing I could see that I thought might be worth doing.

Whoa.... big table... big table...big table... I'm subbing so I can track how you deal with making something of this scale work... and in a house too... I assume it all folds away or comes apart for convenient storage?

the hills and trees in the distance could be painted on a piece of wood, plastic or paper.

Adding just the smallest trees I have to the top of the hills in the background will create wonderfull depth. But first The hills themselves need to be finished.

This is how far the bridge is now. I will fill holes with plaster and let it dry. then carve in the stones. One side will be attached to the cliffs on the town side, and the other end to the cliffs across the river. Then the T-piece, a pilar with two arches attached can be lowered in place. On top, I''ll place a tower and two roadpieces, with boarding on the side, just like the ones on the townwall. This is the most seamless way to build I could think of.

I'm still thinking about adding a drawbridges. I have two from 2 toy casles. In the total picture it would look cool, one, the Rivergate. And one on the other side, the Forestgate. With all the beastmen and goblintribes around, everyone would feel safer at night with the bridges drawn... Haha, but then again, the room a part of the board that is mainly there for viewing pleasure and not so much for actual gaming, would take so much room... It could become inconvenient.

Your new terrain/buildings are starting to look very good. Terrain such as that which you are creating will look GREAT. Heck, it is looking good now. Keep up the good work and the WIP photos
