    Re: Warhammer table

    Thanks guys!

@ Crazy Harboc, I don't know if this is what you mean with traps, but there will be another townwall. I've heard of a tactic once used, that the defenders of a castle opened the first gate to let some of the attacking army inside, closing the gate again behind them. The attackers were trapped between the first gate and a second wall/gate.

This is part of the second wall.

    It's from a toycastle I chopped up.

The pulldown gate thingy is also from the toy castle.

Then there is a shrine of Sigmar I started to work on.

Above the two large windows, there's the emblem of the town, the taurus of Ostland and a two tailed comet between his horns.

I got a good amount of work done on the roof of the shrine. It's going to be a thatched roof. No signs of firebreathing dragons for a long time in the area I guess :-) The pictures are a bit crappy.

    This is the basestructure.

This is a piece of fake animalfur that I bought a a discountstore. I painted the fur with a mix of woodglue, water and brown paint.

    A frontview of the roof.

The first part of the thatched roof is drying.

Oh yes. More WIP photos. I REALLy like this thread.

Oh, what I meant about "traps"...... Hidden weapons shooting at intruders, falling HEAVY objects, Floors with trap doors suddenly opening under an intruder's feet. Murder holes for pouring boiling water/oil down onto enemy invaders.

    Re: Warhammer table

Thanks, and traps are a good idea. I will make some murder holes along the walls and maybe some heavy objects. This week I've finished the roof of the chapel and made a belltower.

The top of the roof is made of thick wooden beams with animalskins on top of that.

Warseer member Golden Lion helped me today doing the remaining work on the cliffs and hills. We also textured the river.

I agree. Keep it up. I (like many others) are REALLY looking forward to your table's completion. I do enjoy the WIP photos very much.

This project is so awesome! Does not look as the most convenient warhammer table for gaming, but it looks amazing. Build a big part of the city behind it, including a large square of about 6x4 feet for 'normal' gaming.

I hope the table is modular.

Otherwise you'll never get this monster out of the room. ;-)

Thanks N810, last month I concentrated my hobbytime on my orc & goblin army. So since the last update I haven't done any work on the table. But sometimes it's good to have a break from a project, to get a fresh look.

Thanks Crazy Harboc. I have to make a plan what to do now, should I finish building this part of the table, including the part inside the wall, or paint the outside of the town, that now is fully assembled. Fortunately it'll be holiday soon.

Thanks Grhino, that is indeed the plan. The other part of the city will also take up some space, and adjecent to that part comes the regular field with some woods, hills and some farmland, that can be used for 'normal' gaming.

:-) Yes it is modular, allthough it takes quite some time moving and assembling it due to it's bulk.
