    Excellent stuff static as always. You've really done a very crisp halved scheme.

    Can't wait to see an army shot when you hit 1k. Assuming your waiting till then to put one up.

    Re: Angels of Redemption

    Yeah I am waiting to get them all done before putting up an army shot. I took them for a battle a few weeks ago and they looked quite impressive then.

    I know that Tamiya do tape but I can't remember what is it is called. I will make a determined effort to find it when I get around to buying a compressor for my airbrush.

    I really think the 2nd founding chapters need more loving! Look at all of the great colour schemes and histories. I am hoping BA will get released in 2010 as it will give me time to warm up for another second founding army.

    Hey Daniel - Glad you like. I see your making good progress with your blood axes too. Glad you like the new (darker) purple. I liked the old one too but sooo many people have expressed surprise at the colour (warlock purple) I decided that I was really using the wrong one. The new purple has a lot more harmony with the green as it is less red.

    OMG can't wait to see you do a BA log would be nice. Which one you thinking? Vermillion, Fleshtearers, Flesheaters, Angels Sanguine?

    Heres a link to a shop that sells tamiya masking tape. Not sure if its the cheapest around but just letting you know.

    Look forward to that finished army shot.

    Re: Angels of Redemption

    Okay update time!

    Finished termies....

    I am quite pleased with these guys. The split scheme looks great on them. They are the right size and detail level to really bring it out. The purple is working very well as a spot colour as well. The metals might look a little washed out or unfinished but this is some kind of light affect.

    I think if I do get around to BA successors it will be the Angels Sanguine or Flesh Tearers. I think both schemes look awesome especially when the black is highlighted with shadow grey. It really exaggerates the black next to the red. Flesh Tearers have a clear "on the edge" background like the AoR so this appeals to me.

    A double post is incoming btw!

    Re: Angels of Redemption

    Okay so I have been busy with my transfers. Boy are these guys hard work! But I have managed to get them on. I think that my transfers are still better than GW ones once I get them on. Mine have a tendency to "snap" rather than bend on so I lose some of them. But the colour is more solid on mine - so I win.

    Okay enough jibber jabber.

    I decided just to paint on the tactical markings. It looks better and is not really that much hard work. Also note everyone's favourite company markings on the knee pads.

    I am quite happy with the final effect. I working on get the transfers onto the bikers right now. Once this is done. I just have to finish the bases.

    Looking good, the marines and termies look great, I really like the two tone on these guys, the brown robe is a good contrast. Keep up the good work.

    Re: Angels of Redemption

    In regards to your decals, I have some suggestions:

    -Always cover the decal area with gloss coat varnish (and let it dry) prior to applying the decal;
    -Use a decal softening solution (like Testors Model Master decal solvent) to soften the film, allowing the decal to fully conform to complex surfaces (such as shoulder pads)-- repeat if necessary;
    -Use a decal setting solution (like Testors Model Master decal setting solution) to bind the decal to the surface;
    -Finish with one or more thin coats of dull coat varnish.

    Following these steps will make your decals look as if they have been printed directly onto the models, with no decal film visible.

    what was up with the disco marine? kinda weird.
    anyways your models kick major butt! i tried to paint white counsels before and the color was awefully hard to make it look right. youve got a great looking army so far, and i cant wait to see more. you must have a lot of patience too.

    Nice work

    Would be nice to see how some of the other vehicles would look in the scheme..
    Ogre Kingdoms - Necrons
    Legion of Everblight - Haqqislam
    If it ain't broken, Ronda has arm-bared it yet.

    Re: Angels of Redemption

    Hey,

    Thanks for all the very kind comments. It's nice to see your work getting some praise.

    Thanks for the purity seals! and if you need to see what I look like then you only have to look so far as my avatar

    Thanks for the pointers starchild. I might try the base coat of varnish first next time. I think that my home made transfers might have exceeded their shelf life though because they tended to snap across the shoulder pad rather than bend around it.

    Based the three vehicles I think the split scheme looks best on models with lots of details. I think a razorback would look a lot better than rhino, actually a rhino would probably look pretty bad with possibly only a drop pod looking worse.

    Okay but now I have finished army photo! Okay the dread's base isn't done but I am saving that for a trip to veterans night and I can't get a game.

    Enjoy!

    and from a slightly different angle...

    The army is now a 1000 points and I am going to take a break from it. I have some terminators and a landraider waiting in the wings but the 2 main projects I am eyeing right now are...

    1.) Finish off my HE - 2 units of spear elves, 1 unit of dragon princes, 2 eagles, 1 mage 1 BSB.
    2.) Add some bits to a dull Steel Legion army. highlight and detail 6 chimeras. Add 2 russes. Add characters. Add special weapon guys (convert melta guns).

    Maybe a third..
    3.) Possibly get stuck into some terrain for an empire table and possibly get the empire army painted.

    Beyond that!!! Wood elves possibly 2010 and wait for FW 1000sons and plastic Tzeentch. Maybe one day start the 13th Regiment of Hoof, my idea for traitor guard using lots of beast men, one day.
