look slike a good list mate, although I would recommend a few power fists in units or possibly melta bombs as you could find one of your units locked in combat with a dread or something which they'll not be able to destroy. I do really like the use of bikers though, it's nicely in fitting with the character of the iron hands but moving away from the way they're most commonly portrayed.

That looks more like a White Scars list, IH could do with more dreadnoughts/ techmarines.

Sure it may not be tactically sound at times but that doesn't matter if you use it right.

Yeh true - I could squeeze pts by downgrading the relic blade and loosing extra armour for one/two fists. Don't krak grenades mean you've always got something to try and hit back with though?

    Tactically sound - probably not
fun to play - hope so!
    fun to build - certainly!!
fun to paint (which we all know is the most important thing!) - Definatly!!!

I've never really been one for lists which stand up under the microscope, as in my experience if you play for fun then that never really matters.

My blood ravens always outperform expectations, as people don't weigh into their consideration of the list fun and sportsmanship. When things like that are included, it becomes a different list alltogether!

That is true, i'm still getting used to those free grensdes, so you shouldn't really have a problem.

Although they're not as good as meltas, it does mean that combat with dreads and Wlords is no longer a hopless cause doesnt it?

    Have just realised, I'd shave pts on the above list by buying ust two squads of bikers and combat squadding them;

    Captain
    Bike
    Relic blade
    165

    8 bikers &
    1 MM attack bike
    2 flamers
    Power weapon
    300

    8 bikers &
    1 MM attack bike
    2 flamers
    Power weapon
    300

    5 scouts
    Missile launcher
    85

    10 marines
    Drop pod
    Flamer
    Pwr wp
    220

    10 marines
    Drop pod
    Flamer
    Pwr wp
    220

    Dreadnought
    Drop pod
    140

    Predator
    Autocannon
    60

    1490

This way I can put an extra squad of scouts in to guard the back base - leaving everything else free to charge!

I started working on a predator today - its interesting!

definitely help against dreads, I don't know if you can use grenades on a wraithlord since they have a toughness value (although i could be wrong), one of the best ways i've found to take down a wraithlord is plasma guns although i've gone off them after a lot of bad luck last night, meltaguns would be a pretty good thing to have though, i'm finding melta's to be really useful in the new rules, I imagine they'll be even better with bikers.

    Right then - updates!

Here are a few better pics of the biker captain and his base:

In game terms he has a bolter, bike and the humping great axe is a relic blade, or possibly power weapon. I'm pleased with his final look. you?

    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

and this is the start of the solo basic predator.

For 60 pts its a steal in my opinion, and I figure if I make it look very menacing it'll attract some attention - which at 60 pts is just fine!!!

    No sponsons, just an autocannon:

obviously far from complete - any suggestions on what else I could put on the pred?

Nice work on the captain mate, you've done a really nice job on the base too, the predator is looking really cool aswell, I like the way you've used the thunderfire parts.

Only thing I ever think about with auto gun preds is where the ammo goes. I'd love to see and ejection port or pile of shells. Just a thought.

Thanks sart - I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Do you like the bolters or dislike?

Its a good thought. I've made a token ammo feeder on the back using assault cannon parts, but I want it bigger really - Big old shells is how I imagine the autocannon. I'll see what I can come up with - its still very wip!

Have you got any of the autocannon magazines/feeds from the cadian imperial guard set?

they might work, they're a bit bigger than assault cannon drums, if you've notgot any i'm sure i'll have a few lying around you can have.

Loving the idea of the autocannons rev. I agree with spikyjames, the mags would look good.

Yhe sounds good mate, I'll take them and give it a go - where do you think they'd be best on the array?
