    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

Ok, I don't usually bother with WIPs, but here are some really early peeks at my iron hands captain:

I'm pretty much making it up as I'm going along, and having a really good time. It means I'm having to back peddle a lot though as I come up with new ideas!

What do you think so far, any suggestions?!

Not really much I cn say about improvements Rev, as its a WIP.

The greenstuffing looks very neat, as does all the plasticard work.

Will you still mount the bolters in the place they should be on a bike? Or are you thinking of moving them elsewhere? e.g. to the front wheel guard.

Nice work rev, really like what you've done so far, especially using the bionic leg on a biker, i'll have to keep an eye on ths guy since i still cant settle between iron hands and blood angels.

Strangely reminiscent of Rich123's mounted Techmarine...I'll be watching with appropriate interest.

I did a bike mounted Warsmith way back when and had a similar problem with that joint (except on the warsmith's legs rather than the IH ones), you've done a great job of connecting them.

I like the alternative exhausts as well, very nice.

Not sure yet. Am thinking of having them on servo harness arms from his backpack?

Do you prefer painting red or black, thats how I'd decide that one!

Thanks CS. The joint got a bit more bulking out tonight as I applied the torso, pics soon. The exhausts I'm semi happy with, need a bit more though I'm not sure what.

That sounds cool Rev, Hmmm....servo harness mounted bolters? Nice. I'd use the ones from the techmarine model. I've gotone of the bolter arms if you want it...nice and Iron Handsy

Thanks SP - do you mean the one extended straight out? I've got one too - but if your not using yours... In fact thats the arm I'm thinking of using, wip pics later today.

I'm thinking of using the plasma pistol servo arms and just changing out for bolters of ust one storm bolter. haven't made a firm decision on backpack yet, or the rear of the bike tbh.

    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

    Right a few updates.

I've made a little progress with my biker captain, for the new iron hands army:

He's beefing up quite nicely, though I'm having dilemmas about how to represent his iron halo, and more importantly the bikes twin linked bolter. At the moment I'm toying with a drop pod's storm bolter, and perhaps the servo arms.

of the four servo arms I could either ust use two slots, and GS the other two, or use all 4. I'm thinking of having one holding the bikes handle bars, one with a storm bolter, and the other two just looking fancy? what do you think about that and current progress?

ohhhhh that's absolutely immense Rev. great job, one of your best bits. i look forward to many updates for him.

Once again really nice stuff the "im going to stop and shoot you then drive off again" pose is really cool. I am a pretty decent conversionist myself if i do say so, but you far outway me in both painting and conversions.

for a third time, nice nice nice. and seeya.

That looks really cool Rev! The Servo Arm idea sounds good, much better than anything I could come up with

    Right,

I've represented the bikes twin linked bolters as a servo arm mounted storm bolter, pointing in the same direction as his standard bolter. What do you think? I've deliberatly removed the ammo feeds as they were just too bulky, and decided after playing about not to replace them with an underslung belt feed, instead pretending the gun is fed by the arm or somesuch. thoughts?

do let me have your thoughts on anything, particularly if you like the bolter set up.

The axe represents his power weapon or relic blade, the storm bolters is the bikes twin linked bolters, his bolter is his bolter or bolt pistol. He's an 'iron father' using the new dex captain HQ entry.

I think its a little crowded personally but the idea is sweet, maybe if you moved the servo arm further away but still pointing in the same direction.

Also not a fan of him holding the axe with the other hand, maybe should try and get him to hold the handlebar, stash his axe on the bike somewhere.

    Bloody good model though mate.

Im going to have to agree with this, if you had him riding a trike maybe he could have that much kit but he looks to unballanced at the moment. I'd say the best thing to do for this model is find a smaller stormbolter. The leg looks amazing though and I love the new headlight. I think you should mount two of the four arms just above the bikes exhaust one on each side maybe.
