Thread: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

I'm not keen on the storm bolter as it stands. I think it would look better if you either had a bolter on arms on both sides or had the bolters as outriggers at the back of the bike like Ork bikers.
As it stands it looks very unbalanced and cluttered.

Awesome work rev, the iron father is looking amazing, i'm really liking the whole set up you've gone for. I'm having mixed feelings about the storm bolter, whilst its true what people have said the storm bolter is rather large lets not forget he is a space marine, i'm relatively sure it will look ok just add a little detail to the storm bolter on the top, and maybe a few random bits to the sides of the bike to make it look bulkier.

Well, if it means anything, I say keep the Stormbolter as it is. It is big, but it is mounted on the backpack. It will look different when painted.

    Only my two cents.

The rest is awesome aswell, of course!

    The bike looks fantastic!

I agree with everyone else who said the TL bolter looks too bulky.

But, it is still the coolest techmarine I have ever seen.

Rev, I'm one for that large storm bolter. It looks awesome!

I love the model, the whole thing is looking great, but if it were me I'd reposition that servo-arm higher but aiming in the same direction. I think it'd look less crowded around the bolter area.

    Everything else I love.

    Thanks guys.

I think I'm going to try and reposition the bolters.

I quite like them, and love the idea of having them on servo arms, but it hasn't quite executed as I'dhoped.

I'll keep you posted as I make prgress this week!

    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

    Right then,

As suggested I've repositioned the bolters.

I've gone with them on the backs of the exhaust pipes as per these pics:

I've also had another go at a backpack. I wanted something suitably different for my HQ, and am quite pleased with the less bulky effort. I scrapped representing an iron halo, as they snap off first time you transport the army...

Very nice Greenstuff, but the bolters seem to be pointing right at his knees o.O

Nice work mate, the backpack looks really cool and very unique, you've also made a really nice job of that mechanicum symbol.

    Rev, that looks really nice.

I think me and you should have a conversion-off. To see who can make the best conversion beamer

Seriously, I'd be thrilled to see how you'd do one

I still like the bolters on servo arms idea, after seeing the last shots he seems weedier. GS look great. New backpack... needs beefing up. I hope you find these criticisms useful, it is what you're after.

I think rev and I might beat you at a conversion beamer conversion comp SP, I seem to remember rev's genestealer cult having conversion beamers and I know for a fact I have an old plastic conversion beamer.

probably the reason why one of his legs are bionic....

stunning stuff, nice to see some iron hands, i've always liked their fluff but i've never had the conversion skills to do them justice.

can't wait to see it finished and painted.

Oh...well...bababooi! Ha! You weren't expecting that I'll bet...Come to think of it...neither was i

Rev, I think if you use the backpack from the plastic commander kit (if you've got one) would make the whole thing look bulkier. Or use the one from sergeant Chronus.

Techmarine on a bike is not an easy conversion but your pulling it off nicely.
just one small question though, which kit is the head from?

the heads from the DA ravenwing sprue.

i like the position of the bolters now mate although i'd maybe think anout putting them on the edge and possibly adding some sort of drum magazine.

    well maybe?
