Awesome as usual Rev. I'm finding more and more that Bolters are the way to go with Sergeants.

rev the sergeant is lovely i do have to agree with bolters for sergeants as it does work....but bein a dark angel player prefer my power fists/ weapons :P

Just played a game against Spiky James, and actually I wish I'd had a few power weapons kicking around, as my large tac squads inevitably got stuck in assault!

I am loving your new stuff. After all those rather vanilla=y looking marines it must feel good to convert their armor to make them bulkier and more unique. Great paint too@!

Love that chaplains Helmet, seriously sinister and twisted. Like how you've mixed chaos bits into the line up to give them that extra edge

In truth the method has changed over time, it started with a snakebite base, then a fewcoats of bleached bone and 2 brown ink washes - but on the more recent marines I think I've achieved a smoother finish with a denheb stone base, 2 coats of bleached bone, a fine khador white highlight and a gryphonne sepia wash. The decal is just CB with some grey highlights.

Hehe - I know i'm a kid at heart, but I just love posing spacemarines I'd still buy them if GW charged £100 a box. Sure I'd moan, but I'd still buy them in the end!

Thanks Hauk, Glad you like the rich red. I use Tamiya clear red Glaze which really adds some pop, even after matt varnish!

In a few games these guys have done bugger all. I read bigred's tactica on BOLS and really liked the sound of it, but its not happening for me.

I tried them as a 5 man, they got rinsed.

I tried them as a 10 man, but then its 230 pts which is too big a chunk for me personally to spend on one unit.

Last night they did the best they've done so far against spikyjames, and by that I mean they lasted the whole game and spent two turns (5&6, after spending 1,2,3 &4 moving into a decent position...) blatting away at a predator, but even then they're only str 8 - rubbish!

I think I'm ditching them for rocket launchers!

Ooh! Ooh! Use 3 rocket Launchers and a Lascannon! Its an awesome combo. I use it all the time with my Fists. But I've also got Tank Huneters
