cool but it looks to me that one of the autocannons is loger than the other, is that just the camera angle or not. Otherwise the conversions ace, and cant wait to see more of your painted stuff.
wow looking good mate
what are you planning to do with the tracks at the front? is that sort of armour plating for them? if so looks cool very cool
tac will look well sweet of they all look like that
ive just started my Raptors chapter if i hadnt i would be thinking of iron hands as yours are a great refrence to work from![]()
I'll let you into a real secret. Its real snow. I harvest each year and keep it in the freezer, put in on the base of the mini then have about 25 minutes to photograph before it looses the effect.
I'm intrigued? Do explain how its tactically unsound - I'm not sure what bit your getting at? is it something in the conversion or the fact its just got an autocannon? (more on that in response to dio below)
thanks martin, I do try and make the bases stand out on each army. Its killed me in the past though...
Thanks Messiah thats really kind. I think a yellow or blue army might show my flaws a little more!
No!
I've really wanted to field one for a while, and I had a few things in my favour for this army,
1) I had a rhino hull lying around
2) the new dex puts them at only 60 pts
3) I think they look cool!
Although you're right, it will be a fire magnet and only last turn 1 or 2, but I see that as kind of a good thing at 60 points. It means they big guns won't be targetting my expensive troop bikers of behind enemy lines dreadnought.
Of course whoever ends up buying this army will want HB sponsons no doubt, so I'll be making some anyway - I just won't field them in the games I'm using them for.
60 points Dio!
SIXTY!!!
love it.
amen brother.
two different lengths - looks cool man!
Its extra plating only, in my head it looks like armour 13 rather than 11. the indside of my head is a little odd mind you.
more pictures before 2009 (in other words, in the next 2 days)

So yeah, you ask and you sall recieve, i see it as tactically unsound because it's a fixed turret. A turret that is fixed forward, means the tank has to do all the turning, which can be problematic (only exception to this is ofcourse basalisks and the like, but they are artillery guns and are unlikely to point in any other direction than forward), turn you back on one enemy to face another. you see where im going here. I know im sounding a bit overly judgemental here but it's all in the name of the emperor, maybe you should just go beetchslap the techmarine who did that and be done with it.

thats very true but as the germans showed the king tiger with its fixed gun did the job well only thing it had against it was that it was made to late in the war
i see that tank working well in a city fight drive it into a building and set up kill zones
or might make a nice razorback
keep it up rev your doing a great job
Real nice work on the iron hands mate, I want to see more! Could we see a group shot of what you have so far?
Visit my shared 40K project log here : http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211864
lol - hadn't even crossed my mind. I didn't build it to be fixed, I imagine the leg supports to clamp down for added accuracy or some such but still enabling the turrent to move. Realism itsn't one of my priorities in this hobby!
Also very true - but also hadn't even crossed my mind!
I'll certainly do my best, although its not a lot atm, just 10 marines a pod and 5 bikes so far.
Makes me cry with joy I know. Got a game pencilled in with spiky james in Jan and I just know he's going to knock it out first dice roll on turn one.

These bionic wonders of future science are truly incredible. And I'm really REALLY not into Marines so the fact that I like these really says something. The skin looks marvelous on the tech priest guy. Please keep working on this army it is a true wonder.
I really like these models just in case you couldn't tell.
*continues to rant about realism and trails off*
So yeah, cool. Now you explained what you designed it on i can understand. And i must say. ALLLLLLLRIGHT!! YEAH GO REV WOOOOOOOO! *takes moment to settle*

GOD DAM YOU REV !!!!!! WHY DO YOU MAKE US WAIT LOL
joking mate keep them coming we like your work
Right
sorry for the delay folks
I've photographed most of what I've done so far for you as an update, I'll post it all over the next few days.
First up is the first complete drop pod and squad;
Sgt power weapon, combi melta,
1 flamer
8 normals
Droppod
230pts;
As always your comments are appreciated.
The army has 3 drop pods. 2 are for ten man tac squads and are deliberatly unadorned with a purely functional look. the idea is that they get used over and over again and are purely functional items. The dreadnought pod will be more ceremonial, as the idea behind dreds is that they don't get to fight all that often so itll be more of a ornate style. Make sense? it does in my head.
rev
Wow, looking good! The marines and the pod fit together well. I look forward to seeing the three pods with their troops together.
I defo get your idea with the Dread pod, I imagine it would almost be a shrine in itself!

Great stuff mate, are these the guys i'll be grinding into the mud on thursday?
