    Yeh thats the Idea. I'll hopefully do incense thuribles and all kinds of purity seals on the inside. I might even try some object source lighting...!

    lol - in a 1500 pt game you most certainly would grind them into the mud (snow) as I've only got about 400pts painted...!

    I might have to play ravens as they're 1500 at least. I presume that its a 1500 pt game? You using your tasty ultras?

    thanks tc, I'm glad you think so. I was trying to get them fairly tight and utilitarian at a glance, but a little more detailed up close, I've attached a slightly closer shot of them.

    Its not the easiest kit to put together, but quite cool! Good luck with yours!

    And the outside. I've pinched the IF icons for hands...!

    Bit colour correction was needed for this pic, sorry about that;

    Awesome as always Rev, I really like the way you've unified that squad and drop pod. Great paint scheme you've adopted too. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Dread's bling-shrine-pod!

    And if you want to add IH icons instead of the IF ones (though the IF ones are fine), Forgeworld do an icon pack as well as the rhino/land raider doors. I picked up some Templar ones and they are nicely detailed (though they can be a little fragile given their size).

    As always, your marines are more or less perfect. I especially love the Iron Hands on bikes. Nice to see somebody doing Iron Hands as well - they have a great conversion pack that it seems nobody takes advantage of. When will we see you tackle Salamanders? I think you'd make that Chapter in particular look awesome for some reason - maybe that's because you have with every other chapter.

    I normally leave them till last, as I've got the scheme perfected by the end. I might do him a little sooner though as I'm itching to paint him. Need the rank and file out the way first though or the army will never get finished.

    Interesting idea, personally I quite like using combi meltas, I think there quite useful as there one shot can always help avoid the inevitable squad vs dreadnought where you end up losing half a squad because the dread hits before your powerfist. They look really cool too, what were you thinking of replacing them with?

    Bolt pistols? the idea of 30pts kinda kills me. they do look cool though which Is why i went with them in the 1st place - but bolt pistols are so much cheaper!!

    Re: Rev's 'mostly marines' Showcase

    Thanks for all your comments so far.

    I'd still be interested in your opinions on combimeltas on tactical sgts and wether its a good use of 15 pts a piece (30pts in this army as I've got 2).

    I'd also appreciate some thoughts on the following pics. I've planned for 2 bikes squads, fully loaded each squad will split into 2 combat squads (5 bikes in the first squad and 3 bikes& the multimelta attack bike in the second).

    Now obviously the multimelta squad is a tank hunter unit. the 3 bikers I'm happy to use as ablative wounds.

    Its teh second 5 man units I'm asking for advice on. of the 5, I've already painted 2 bolter bikes (see below) for each squad so I've got 3 bikers to kit out (potentially the sgt and 2 special weapons). at the moment I've got 30 pts per squad to use, potentially rising by 15 pts each if I drop combimeltas from teh tac squads.

    what would you advise as to how to kit out the 5 strong bike squads the most effective way - I'm going round in circles in my head )pwr weps, fists, flamers, meltas, plasmas bla bla bla.)

    While you're thinking here are said bolter bikers (only 7 in the pic, 10 finished) I'll post pics of their individual bionics in response to your comments. (each one has a bionic 'bit' of some sort.)

    And the rear ends as it were;

    comments as always appreciated

    Are toy spraying some sort of varnish on these ones? because they seem a bit more reflective than the Drop pod or other iron hands. It may be me though. But yes, they look great. The red makes their ties with the adeptus mechanicus look ever stronger. Good job IMO

    just on the tyres, to represent rolling through snow. Did anybody notice the snow berms at the base of each front tyre? I built them up with green stuff and it took ages but I'm not sure its worth it.

    lets play spot the bionics:

    Rev, the work is fantastic, so much so you've inspired me to get rid of all my old loyalist spare parts by making an iron hands army!

    as always, i look forwards to more!

    Amazing stuff as usual. The photo of the squad stepping out of the drop pod is great and the bikes are looking crazy. Can't wait to see more of the individual bionics on those. Left hand dude is looking fine!
