Finishing my High Elf Army

Hello Everyone!

Lets see here...to finish my HE army i need to complete:
- 15 Phenix Guard
- 15 Swordmasters
- 6 Silver Helms
- Finish Dragon Mage

So encouragement and advice is yours to give

Small Question: How do you add picture attachments? Thanks

To add pictures, you'll need a photobucket account or something like that. Once you've uploaded your pics to that, under each pic there will be a list of addresses (email and im, direct link, html, img code). If you click on the IMG code and copy it, you can paste it into a post here. Make sure you resize the picture to large (640X480), just in case.

Batch painted, you should have this done in no time.

Need help deciding which color gem to go with...Any thoughts

Blue? Green? or classic red?

Pretty nice Elves! They really do stand out, and the white cloaks are very nice. As for the gems, well I'm not too sure about the green, really, but I imagine that the blue will be nice and the red as well. Would you mix them up? Blue for some certain gems and Red for others?

Do you find it easier to paint 'outside-in'? I noticed that the flesh of the faces seems to be the last area painted, even after the helms and such. Is this just more comfortable for you?

You could go half between blue and red and go purple? I think the blue works nicely with the silver and gold, so I'd say that over green and red. Are you going to highlight the grey as well? Also, do you thin your paints?

- As for the banner im not very good with painting them so i will probably just go with white background (like the capes) and paint a single symbol on there in blue or black. Hopefully it will turn out looking ok...

- That seems to be the way ive always painted faces and helmets never really thought much of it, if get any paint on the outside helmet ill just clean it up at the end

Thank you! im trying to paint as quickly and carefully as possible....takes alot of work...anyway...here is a sneak peak at what i plan on doing with the Sword masters

AAAhh Dark elves eh? Im resisting the urge to purchase some myself id always though they would be fun to paint - the exact opposite of my HE. Ill probably pick some up in a few weeks when im done with my current project.

Make sure you get black guard. I think you'd be very good at painting those up.

Can you do a different colour scheme on them like green or something.

Sorry for no update...ive been busy hopefully tomorrow i will get more pics and should be done with the unit by the weekend.

I think for my future DE project i would go for a black, green and blue scheme them much like the top three pictures on the GW site, i would include more green however.

New Update:
I am nearly done with the phenix guard, all i need to do now is pick out the eyes, finish the gems, and then paint & glue the weapons. hopefully i can get that done with in the next day or so
