    Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

Note: Please leave all comments in the signup thread

A year had passed and now the arena of death had opened once more.

The success of last year had brought the chaos dwarfs enough gold to enhance the arena, and no where was this more evident that at the gates to the mountain passage. Whereas last year it was a simple wooden wall guard by a pair of chaos dwarfs, now the gates was made of iron, and decorated with gold. A toll both was also set up to more effectively collect the fee from those wanting to watch the spectacle.

Once through the passage the new arena also stood out. Much like the gate it was also now completely made of iron and decorated with gold, however the arena was also covered in many nasty spikes and barbs.

Around the arena the stands had been improved to be made of stone, and four viewing towers (for the elite) had been setup on each corner.

Surrounded by the cliffs of the mountains there was a feeling of being trapped, however for the spectators, they were reassured with the fact that only the combatants were doomed.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 1:

    Waaagher and Booomer
    vs
Sir Auldren the III of Paravon and Duke Reginauld of Artois

With the arena opened up for the start of its second season the stands quickly filled up and were packed with many different races. Orc sat beside dwarf, elf sat beside dark elf, it just didn't matter as all eyes were on the arena and everyone there was pumped up and ready to watch the opening match.

Lahboura, from the top of her viewing tower, watched the combatants make there way towards the iron gates of the arena, lined on either side by a pair of heavily armed chaos dwarfs to ensure nothing happened to them before they could start killing each other.

On one side came a par of greenskins. One was a large savage Orc warrior covered in warpaint and lightly armored, but held a nasty looking jagged sword and a shield with some creatures skin pulled over it. His parntner was a goblin in a black hood riding on a wolf. The goblin was stopped by a man in a red shirt at the gate to the arena.

"Night goblins can't ride a wolf!" The man barked while pointing to some book.

The night goblin stared at the skinny man for a second, and then took off his head with quick horizontal slash with a dirk that had been hidden in his robe, to the cheers of the crowd.

On the other side of the arena two Bretonnian knights trotted forward. One dressed in green with a snake on his helm and a lance in his hand, and the other dressed in blue with a dragon on his helm and a sword in his hand. Both rode forward calmly and with a sense of arrogance, as if they were insulted to be around so many common people.

Everyones attention quickly went to the sound of trumpets as the match was ready to begin. Booomer pulled the dirk and a shield out from inside his robe, and Duke Reginauld of Artois set his lance, and with a battle cry from each of them they charges towards each other, setting to meet in the center of the arena.

Duke Reginauld with his long lance was able to get the first blow and hit the goblin in the chest (5,3,2,2 rerolled to 3,1). The tip looked like it would go right through the heart of the goblin (6 (killing blow), 5,4) but the amulet under his clock began to glow and the lance passed through doing very little harm at all (ward made on a 6 for killing blow then 5,3 for armor save and 1 ward failed with a 1). (Spiteful shield failed to wound on a 1) The steed then kicked the goblin (6) but it did nothing (2).

Boomer then stabbed at the knight with his dirk and hit the knight twice (6,4,2,2) (wounded on 5,3) but he couldn't get passed the knights thick armor (6,5). (The wolf missed his attack on a 2).

Boomer was surprised by taking a wound so early (Ld failed with a 11) and Reginauld made a quick kick with his boot (5)(4) but the magic of the amulet saved him (2).

The knight then drew his sword and with great skill hacked away at the goblin (5,3,3,3 to hit)(6,5,4,3 to wound), but cursed by his own armor, the amulet of the goblin saved him from harm (saves made with 5,4,2). (Horse missed with 2.)

Booomer saw an opening at stabbed at the knights leg (6,4,2,1) (wounds on 5,3), and the blade went clearly through the weak spot in the armor (1,1) and only the blessing of the lady saved him from too much harm (one ward failed on a 1) and yet blood flowed from his leg. (wolf missed on a 3).

This time it was Reginauld's turn to be surprised (Ld failed with 10), but Boomer was un able to take advantage of it (2 to hit).

Angry that the goblin was actually putting up a fight Reginauld again went to work with his sword (6,5,5,3 to hit)(6,4,4,2 to wound), and once again the amulet drawing frmo his own armor saved him from harm (2,2,2). At this point he was wondering if he should take his armor off... (horse hits and wounds with a 4 and then 6 but the armor is made with a 5).

Knowing that he found a weak spot boomer moved to the side and went after the other leg (6,6,5,2)(2,2,1), and once again drew blood (1 armor save failed with 6,4, and ward failed on a 3). Reginauld was now bleeding from both legs and the wounds made it very difficult to control his horse. (wolf hits and wound (6/6) but the armor save is made (4). (Ld passed with 6)

Nothing made sense! Reginauld thought. He was clearly the better fighter and yet that stupid amulet kept saving him. Determined to go on Reginauld expertly attacked again with his sword (5,5,5,4)(6,4,4,2) and this tim he found an opening as once of his strikes passed the cloaks 'armor' and drew blood from the goblins shoulder (one armor failed with 6,5,1 and ward failed on a 5). (Horse hits but fails to wound (6,2).

The pain reminded Booomer that this fight wasn't over yet. Both fighters were now badly wounded and could go down at any moment. Had made a single jab at the knights face (5,3,3,2)(wounds on a 4) but the knight blocked blocked the blow with his shield (armor failed on a 1 but ward made on a 5). (Wolf misses on a 2). (Ld passed on a 8)

Boomer had to back off as the knight attacked again (6,6,3,2)(4,4,3) and was saved once again as the blows bounced off his robe (5,4). (horse missed with a 1) Then came right back and jumped at the knight, landed on his chest and started stabbing him with the knife (6,5,5,1)(6,4,2). Over and over the blade entered Reginauld's chest and blood flowed out and covered his armor. (armor failed with 5,2,1 and wards failed failed 3,1).

Boomer hopped to the ground and cleaned his dirk on his robe and Reginauld fell off his horse and into a heap on the ground. The goblin didn't have long to rest however as Sir Auldren came charging in the newly opened gate with his lance pointe straight at the goblin.

The lance caught Booomer in the back (5,4,3,2 rerolled to 6)(all wounded with 4,3,3,2) and went went straight through (all saved failed with 3,2,2,2 and only 1 ward made with 5,3,3,2).

Looking down at the lance sticking out of his chest Booomer spat out some blood, reached into his robe and pulled out a strange looking bad. He then turned to Sir Auldren and threw it at him. The bag exploded in his face (6 hits)(6,4,4,2,1,1 to wound) and only the blast rocked the knight (armors failed with 4,1,1,1) and only his faith in the lady kept him alive (6,6,3,2).

Booomer fail to the ground in a heap of blood and Sir Auldren was left shocked and confused (not even noticing that several piecesof his armor had been blown off and he was bleeding from his ears and eyes).

    That's when Waaagher came in.

In a franzy the savage orc drew out his crual blade and charged towards Sir Auldren. Sir Auldren forced himself from the daze, pulled his lance from Booomers body and charged as well.

The lance gave the knight an advantage and he was able to hit the orc first (6,5,4,2 rerolled to 4,1) and the steel tip of lance bit into Waaaghers chest (4,2 rerolled to 3) and broke off (ward failed on a 2,1). (horse hits but fails to wound (6/3) The wound was horrific, but Waaugher stayed on his feet.

The shock from the blow made it difficult for the orc to find the mark with his hits (4,4,2,2,1), but one of them found its mark (3,3 to wound and 1 armor failed with 6,4) and sunk into the knights neck (ward failed (2)).

Sir Auldren fell from his horse and Waaagher walked over (leaving atrail of blood from his own wound) and tore out his magical blade. Then he walked over to the fallen Booomer to see if there was any chance for him.

He was surprised to see the goblin was already on his feet and was smiling at him (5), "God, I love this thing!" The amulet swinging on his finger.

"You lukky runt. You just lukky dat it doesn't fit around my nekk."

And with that the two green skins raised their weapons to the cheering crowd and walked out of the blood soaked arena while several chaos dwarfs ran in to drag out the fallen knights and lead the horses towards the kitchen.

    Waaagher and Booomer move on.

Sir Auldren the III of Paravon and Duke Reginauld of Artoisare eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 2:

    Ur'ran soul stealer and Harbur
    vs
    Casper and Skippy

After the first exciting match everyone could only guess what was going to happen today. Todays match featured a mortal and deamon champion of Khorne against a vampire and wight king. Many remembered how last year the wight king would cut off heads like flowers off a stem and wondered how this years version would do.

As could be expected Lahboura's money was on the vampire (if for no other reason than to support her own kind) although as she saw Ur'ran enter the ring she started to have doubts.

Ur'ran was a massive bloodletter incased in dark red armor holding a flaming sword in one hand and the reins of the dreaded juggernaut in the other. Truely not a sight for the faint of heart.

Next Casper entered the ring. Casper was a blood dragon vampire however he was known as being one of the 'friendly vampires' being that he was of Bretonnian origins and thus used his vampire powers to defend his land (by killing all intruders...). Encased in thick blackened steel and with a lance in one hand and the reins to his ghoulish steed in the other one might wonder if he actually might stand a chance against the herald of khorne...

All that was soon answered as the horns sounded and the two charged quickly at each other. Each warrior with weapon ready to take the life of the other...

Both warriors hit each other at the same time. Casper hit Ur'ran in the shoulder (3,1,1 rerolled to 4,2,1)(wounds on a 5) and the lance went straight through (armor failed on a 3 and ward failed on a 3). (horse misses with a 2). Ur'ran on the other hand hacked at the vampire twice with his flaming sword (5,4,2 rerolled to 2)(both wound on 5,5), first sending the blade into his chest, and then pulling it back out and sending it right back in (both armor failed with 4,2 and ward failed with 3,1).

The fight was over in only a few seconds, and Casper(his chest still on fire from the magical blade) fell from his steed.

Skippy the wight king, seeing his master fall, charged in passing through the gate before it even opened.

Ur'ran say him comnig and quickly turned his juggernaught around and slashed out with his sword (all hit with 6,4,3). The quick blows looked like it could be the end for Skippy(5,3,3) but his magical armor barely deflected the worst of the blows (6,6,2) and the blade only once entered his body leaving the smell of burning rotten flesh. (Juggernaught hit once with 4,2 rerolled to 2, ut failed to wound with 3)

Drawing out his ancient blade the wight king quickly sent it into the deamons body, and into his deamon heart (5,5,3 to hit) (killing blow with 6,4)(ward failed with 1). Ur'ran seemed to scream something and then he (it?) and his juggernaught burnst into flames and were gone.

Skippy seemed not to notice however as he moved over to inspect his fallen master. It was while his back was turned that Harbur came in. On his juggernaight he was close to three times the size of Skippy, and as he charged towards him his magical sword raised to give the deathblow.

The blade hit the wight king several times (6,6,4,3,1)(6,4,3,1 to wound) but each time the blade simlpy bounced off Skippy's armor (6,6,5). Only the juggernaught, by biting into Skippy's arm (6,3,1), was able to break through the armor (6,2 *remember this kind doesn't have killing blow*) and ripped the arm off (armor failed on a 1).

With his shield arm gone the wight king simply swung his sword around (6,5,4 to hit rerolled to 5,4) and cleanly took Harbur's head off (5 to wound). The exalted champion of khorne's head fell to the ground and the vampire team won the match.

Not all was good new however. Lahboura puched her way into the ring and began using her black art on the fallen Casper, but it was to late. The wounds from the flaming blade had left him hollowed out and he was well beyond repair. (Rolled a 1)

Leaving the fallen blood knight she instead mended Skippy's arm and left him to leave the ring victorious but alone.

    Skippy moves on.

Ur'ran soul stealer, Harbur, and Casper are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 3:

    Matthias and Lady Olenda
    vs
    Felgar Wifebeater and Karack

It was an hour before the fight and Lahboura in her usual red dress was talking to Lady Olenda, who was at the time not yet in her armor and was instead wearing a long ornate green dress.

"And your absolutely sure this works?"

"Naturely. Men love a strong woman. All you need to do is show them you can use a sword and wear armor and they are absolutely drawn to you."

The two where discussing how Olenda, a Lahmian vampire, had taken on more blood knight traits as to better lure men to her will. It was about this time that a bottle broke at their feet.

"Hey bitches! Isn't it a little bit early to have so many clothes on?". Looking over Lahboura saw the two dwarfs coming their way. One which was almost naked (and obviously drunk) and had a blue mohawk, and another (equally drunk) in thick gold encrusted armor. "Why don't you two come over here and we can have ourselves a little party..."

"Leave them alone you drunken stunties!" Matthias, fully armed and on his warhorse came hiding towards them, lance ready and waiting.

"Ahh shut up!" Felgar Wifebeater slurred as he threw another bottle at the Longburg grand master. "We're not afraid of you, nor your whores."

Matthias looked over quickly to see if his darling Olenda was offended, and found her already in her armor and charging at Felgar, sword in hand.

It appeared that this fight was going to be over much before the stands had began to fill...

Olenda's blade moved quickly towards Felgar's throat, but Karak jumped in the way, taking the blows (5,4,3 rerolled to 3). (He passes begike test with a 4). To Oledna's dimay, the blows just bounced off the dwarf lord's shield (3,1 to wound).

Karak then took hold of his axe and swung it at the vampire (6,4,2,1 rerolled to 3,1). The axe his her in the thigh (5,2,2) but bounced off the armor (3).

It looked like Karack had the upper hand, but then he... threw up. With the dwarf doubling over, Olenda was easily able to bring her sword up and send the sword into his neck and through his chest (3,2,1 rerolled to 5,1,1)(6 to wound and ward failed with a 4). The puke of the armored dwarf turned to blood and he slumped over into his own waste.

Enraged, Felgar unhooked a large axe from his belt and prepared to swing it at Olenda. The vampire moved quicker however and lunged with her sword at the dwarfs unprotected belly (3,2,1 rerolled to 4,4,2)(begile passed with a 7) and pushed the blade in (4,3).

Fueled by the pain Felgar swung the axe with everything he had (5,2,2,1) and caught the vampire right in the chest (5). The massive blow broke right through the armor (1) and tore her in half (5 wounds caused). The two halfs fell to the floor almost as fast as the dwarf spat on them.

"For m'lady!" The grand master knight who had expected to see his beloved defeat the low lives tucked his lance under his arm to avenge her death. From his lance a dark force shot forth (hand of death) and the dark wind tore the dwarf apart before his charging steed even reached the spot he had stood (5 shots, 6,5,5,5,1 to wound).

Matthias quickly dismounted and rushed over to where Olenda and saw the ground covered in blood, and also a woman in a red dress standing over her. As he got closer he could sense the magic, and as he pushed the woman out of the way he found his love alive and in one piece (5).

"But... but... how could this be?..."

Olenda opened her mouth to speak but Lahboura stopped her. "Rest now Olenda, and regain your strength. Matthias, there is much we have to talk about..."

She would have continued, but at that time the crowd began to gather to see the fight... that was already over. The two vampires and the confussed grand master left to leave the explaining to the frantic chaos dwarfs.

Matthias and Lady Olenda move on.

Felgar Wifebeater and Karack are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 4:

    Alayanis Tavertam and Brightleaf
    vs
Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell

After the fiasco was settled from the previous day the chaos dwarfs promiced this battle would be one of the greatest anyone had ever seen. Why? Because Lord Firumsbell, who had actually died last tournament, was back and better than ever as an undead warriors under the control of his new master Count Draco von Kirchenwein.

The two of them started off towards the ring. In front was Draco, covered in black and red armor, and mounted on his black horse with red barding, he looked like he could do quite well. Behind him stumbled Firumsbell draggin his bow and great weapon behind him, not to mention chunks of flesh as it rotted and flaked off as he moved.

Pointing for his minion to go first the undead wood elve entered the ring.

Their opponents then marched up. In the lead was Alayanis Tavertam covered in bright ornate armor on his graceful steed, and behind him Brightleaf who danced and jumped his way to the ring.

Their gate opened and Alayanis kicked his horse and made a run at Firumsbell, but before he got to him the zombie raised his magical bow...

The arrow released broke into 8 seperate glowing arrows, each of which slammed into the high elf (4,4,3,3,3,2,2,2)(6,5,5,4,4,3,2,1 to wound). Most of the arrows failed to penetrate the ornate armor, but two broke into the body of the prince (6,5,4,4,1,1 and wards failed with 3,2) and he screamed in pain.

Then Firumsbell dropped the bow and sped atthe prince with blistering speed, however the prince was quite the warrior and was able to set his lance just right to catch him with it (5,4,2,1) and ran him throw with the lance (5,1 to wound). (Horse missed with a 3.) Impaled on the lance Firumsbell swung with his large sword and droveit into Alayanis's chest (6,5,4,1 to hit)(3,2,2 to wound)(two failed with 6,4,3 and only one ward made with 6,4).

The valiant prince, and star of the high elves gasped his last breath and slumped over, leaving Firumsbell to back himself out of the lance and stumble over to his bow.

The gates opened and brightleaf, twin blades in hand, started towards Firumsbell flipping and spinning all the way.

Firumsbell raised his bow and shot a single arrow which hit the woodelve in the leg (5)(4 to wound) which made him slip and fall to the floor (ward failed with a 3). Then the undead elve once again grabbed his large sword and ran towards his fallen foe.

*This is where things get... odd. No set AI was written on picking dances, so I'm going to have to pick a random one*

Jumping to his feet Brightleaf began whirling around (whirling death). This didn't phase Firumsbell however, and he lunged and sent the blade into the stomach of the wardancer highborn (6,6,2,1)(6,1 to wound)(ward failed with a 5).

Brightleaf looked down at the blade, then looked back up at Firumsbell. "I'm sorry I was not able to release you..." But Firumsbell said nothing and his kin fell and died at his feet.

*Just so everyone knows, if I were to pick a dance I would have picked the strikes first one and when I rolled it out he missed all but one attack and that one failed to wound... so it wouldn't have mattered.*

Pleased with his minion, Lord Draco entered the ring, patted the zombie elve on the shoulder and then waved to the crowd.

Firumsbell was back, and with the help of a vampire, he aimed to win the entire tournament (and eat some brains...).

Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell move on.

Alayanis Tavertam and Brightleaf are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 5:

    Marrow and Bile
    vs
    Lord Amictus and Malkot

The stands were alive and the crowd was going crazy. Filled to the brim the overflowing stands could barely contain the excitement. And yet, no one had been allowed through the passage to watch the match... even Lahboura had been turned away...

This is because today, for the first time, a team of chaos dwarfs were taking to the arena.

Lord Amictus, a fairly large (and by large I mean fat) chaos dwarf lord, walked towards the ring waving his hands in the air, and even took off his ridiculously large hat in order to bow to the crowd. Behind him trotted Malkot, a bull centor lord, who was absolutely covered in armor plates and spikes (and naturally also had a ridiculously large hat) and carried a large axe in his hands.

The crowd quickly turned nasty however when their opponents made their way to the stage.

The two skaven fighters actually had to fight off their chaos dwarf guards because they were pushing them and poking them as they made their way to the arena.

Marrow pulled a bright green blade from his side and the chaos dwarfs backed off. The green light of the warpstone so bright that it made his armor glow green as well.

Bile pulled out his plague censor from his robe and started swinging it around and chasing them around the arena (much to the amusement of the crowd). While Bile was doing that Marrow got into the ring and found Lord Amictus waiting.

Both men (er... fighters...) readied their swords and started edging themselves towards each other...

Marrow took the initiative and lunged at the choas dwarf with the fellblade. The magical blade caught Amictus in the chest (6,5,5,2), forcing it's way through the armor(6,5,4)(wards failed with 2,2,1). A moment ago his arms where in the air and the crowd was cheering. Now a hole in his chest poured out blood, and the crowd had gone quiet. Lord Amictus spat some blood at the rat and then as his eyes dimmed he fell to the ground.

"Boo!!!" "Cheater!!!" "Bastard!!" The chaos dwarfs in the croud were definately not happy. Marrow didn't notice however, as his magical blade had taken its toll on him too (2), as the warp stone had sapped out some of his strength. I risk he had to take to use the foul blade.

Looking up the skaven lord noticed his next opponent enter the ring: the heavily armored Malkot.

Not waiting for his opponent to recover the bull centaur raised his axe and charged towards Marrow. Rolling to his feet Marrow slashed at his opponents legs (5,5,3,1) hitting them right at the knees (4,2). A horrible 'snap' noise filled the arena, and Malkot tumbled to the ground, leaving his two front legs behind him on the floor.

Malkot ignored the pain and swung at the rat as he fell (6,4,4,3,1) and his Marrow in the side (6,5,2). The axe broke through the armor (5,2), but an amulet on Marrow's chest began to shine and healed some of the damage (one ward made with 6,2). Malkot passed his Ld with a 7)

Dropping his shield in order to hold his wounded side, Marror moved over to the crippled centaur to finish him off. The fellblade was raised, and then quickly fell, taking off Malkots head (6,5,2,1)(5,4). (No wound from the fell blade with a 4).

The arena went into an absolute crazy. Bile, who was still chasing the chaos dwarf 'guards', even stopped to see what was the matter. Rushing out of the stands the chaos dwarfs came at the two skaven warriors like a swarm (they were used to it being the other way around).

"Break them" "Burn them!" "Kill them!"

They did the best they could to fight them off but there were just too many of them, and quickly captured the skaven pair.

Then from down the tunnel entrance the sound almost like rushing water could be heard getting louder and louder... but it wasn't water... but instead hundreads of paws "SQWEEEEEK!!!!". Rushing out of the tunnel skaven warriors jumped into the fray and the entire area was a flowing battle of chaos dwarfs and skaven fighting to the death.

The chaos dwarfs didn't stand a chance. Each time a dozen skaven were slain fifty more entered in from the tunnel. Every time a dozen chaos dwarfs were slain they were just that closer to defeat.

After about an hour the dust cleared and Marrow and Bile stood in the center of the arena surrounded by their kinfolk.

Marrow raised his fellblade and screamed "THE ARENA IS OURS!!!"

    "SQWEEEEEEEEK!!!"

    Marrow and Bile move on.

Lord Amictus and Malkot are eliminated.

    Skaven capture the arena.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 6:

    Arget and Snargi
    vs
    Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger

Travellers heading to the arena were greated with a surprise. Instead of grim chaos dwarfs guarding the entrance and taking their money, there were skaven pointing ratling guns.

Lahboura didn't care how ran the arena, but she was annoyed that her viewing tower had been 'lost' and to get it back she would have to give them a good amount of warp stone. Having none on her she would have to watch this fight from the stands.

Todays fight was going to be a 'good vs evil' match. On one side there were a Bretonnian knight and a dwarf, and on the other, a Dreadlord and Herald of Khorne.

The first one to enter the arena (slightly damaged from the previous days battle) was Arget the Lord of Foxwood Manor. His bright yellow armor was impressive to see, but it was odd that the grail on it was scratched out.

His opponent was Kairos Blackheart. He looked small compared to the knight on his warhorse, but his dark armor and large sea dragon cloak made you wonder what trick he had up his sleeve.

As a skaven warrior his a large gong, Arget kicked his steed and sped at Kairos, but just before he got there Kairos pulled a halbred that had been hidden in his cloak and jabbed with it at the knight. A series of fast strikes hit Arget (6,5,4,1), but they didn't do much against his armor (6,1,1 to wound)(armor failed with a 2, but ward made with a 6).

The knight at nearly the same time tried to impale him with his lance (6,6,5,5)(6,5,3,2). The odd cloak of the dreadlord pushed aside all of the damage (4,2,1 for pendant). (Horse hits but doesn't wound (5,2).

As Arget worked to pull out his sword, Kairos swung the halbred at him again with deadly accuracy (6,4,4,3)(6,5,4,3). One of the strikes dug into his leg (6,4,3,1 ward failed with 6,4) and with a grunt he finally pulled out his sword.

A sword tried to find it's mark, but only one was able to hit the dark elf (6,4,4,2)(6,2,2), but once again the magical cloak absorded the blow (armor failed with 4, ward made with 4) (Horse misses (2)). (Arget passes Ld with 7)

Kairos tried to hit the knight again, but the knight blocked the blow with his shield (4,2,1,1)(1). In return the knight tried to counter, but the elve just moved out of the way (3,2,2,1)(horsed missed (1)).

Now in a better position Kairos aimed for Arget's back and found his mark(5,3,2,1)(4,3). The halbred broke through the armor (3,1) and dung into the flesh (one ward failed with 6,4).

Desperately Arget tried to his Kairos with a backhand, but again his opponent avoided his blows (6,2,2,2)(2) (horse missed with 2). (Ld passed with 8) Things were not looking good for the Bretonnian knight...

Sensing the weakness Kairos then pushed his halbred into the newly opened hole in the armor(6,6,4,1)(6,6,2), and the blade went cleanly in and through the internal organs of the valiant grail knight(4,3)(2).

If the knight had wanted to find a worthy opponent he had found him, and breathing his last breath he fell off his horse and into darkness.

Snargi couldn't wait to try his might against the dreadlord and pushed the gates open and charged at Kairos with his axe above his head. Kairos moved faster and slashed at the deamonslayers unprotected gut. Many of the blows hit Snargi(5,4,4,3) but in a fury he ignored most of the pain (5,2,1), with only one cut causing him noticable pain.

The axe of the dwarf sped towards the head of Kairos (6,5,5,2)(6,4,1), but Kairos spun and knocked away the blows with his cloak (3,3). (Ld passed with 6)

Snargi might be a better fighter, but Kairos was faster and his magical cloak gave him the edge. Cofident in that he attacked again (6,2,2,1) but was surprised to see his halbred knocked away and the only glancing hit he was able to make only graze the skin (1). Thinking he had his chance, he dwarf made two quick strikes (6,4,2,1)(6,4), but once again the cloak flashed and the blades found nothing but air (4,1).

Making sure of his aim, Kairos made a single lunge at Snargi's leg(6,3,3,2). The blade hit the thigh and Snargi had to shift his weight to his other leg to avoid falling down (5 to wound). This made it harder to hit (6,2,1,1) and the only time he hit the elve (2) the cloak did it's magic again (1).

His opponent weak and off balance Karios went for the death blow(5,5,2,1), and sent his weapon into the belly of Snargi (4,2). With a twist Snargi dropped his axe, fell to his knees, and then smiled as he had found a 'good' death.

In the stands Lahboura made note of the cloaks abilities... dark elve enchantment was powerful indeed...

Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger move on.

    Arget and Snargi are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    DAY 7

    Grunk M'Targ and Farien Dreamweaver
    vs
    Voss Aloo and Bren Frayz

Having paid her new fee to get her tower back Laboura looked down to the arena and watched as the starting fighters entered the ring.

Grunk M'Targ was an ogre, which brought back memories of last years winners, but unlike last years winners this ogre didn't look dumb at all and in fact looked rather experienced as a fighter. His armor only covered some of his many battle scars and in his hands was a hooked blade that looked to have seen many battles. Behind him were two gnoblars with tiny swords. It would be amusing to see what they would do.

His opponent, Bren Frayz, was a tomb prince and Lahboura spat at the very sight of him. In his hands he had a large flail, and at the end of it were several skulls. Appearently he had defeated many foes... but Lahboura hoped (and bet) he would loss against this one.

The gong was sounded and the two warriors started moving towards each other and as each fighter could easily fall the other with a few well placed attacks, all eyes were keen not to miss anything... (Grunk doesn't take a wound from his amulet (3))

Both warriors raised their weapons and swung them at their opponent at the same time. Bren's flail smashed down on the ogre's side (6,6,2) and would have killed him had his gnoblar not jumped in front of it (being crushed to a paste for his valor) and then magical amulet healed what damage the rest of the blow had caused (6,1 rerolled to 6). In return Grunk's hooked sword went straight for his opponents neck (5,5,3,2) and took the tomb princes head clear off (6,5) (Ld passed with a 6).

The prince crumbled to dust, but now the ogre had to deal with the much more powerful tomb king.

Voss silently entered the areana and paid no notice his his fallen kin. Instead he merely drew up his large ancient blade and started moving towards the ogre. His blade tore into the Grunk's shoulder (6,5,4,2) (6,5,4 to wound), and his amulet was only able to heal some of the damage (6,3,1).

Slumped over in pain the ogre tried to hit Voss but the pain was too much (3,1,1) (gnoblar missed with a 2). This only allowed Voss to make another quick attack (Ld failed with an 11) and this time the blade hit Grunk in the leg (4)(6) and sent him to his knees (ward failed with a 2).

Desperate not to go down with out a fight the mercenary wildly swung his blade at the tomb king (6,6,3) and by pure luck the sword took off Voss's head just as it had Brens (6,4). But before Voss fell his blade fell once more (6,5,3,1) and caught the ogre in the back (3,2,1) and both warriors fell to the ground (one ward failed with 6,4).

The tomb kings had been defeated by Grunks magical blade, but Farien ignored the cheers and rushed to his parners side... but there was no saving him (1). He had paid the ultimate price that a mercenary could pay, and Farien only hoped he could hold up his end.

    Farien Dreamweaver moves on.

Voss Aloo, Bren Frayz, and Grunk M'Targ are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 8:

    Nebneata and Cirobrior Sharpdagger
    vs
    Huzatcl and Xectacl

It was the final battle of the first round, and looked to be a good one.

The lizadrmen finally made a showing and Xectacl was currently making his way into the ring. Riding on a cold one he slowly made his way through the gates. His weaponry didn't look that fancy, but he held a statuette in his hands, and everyone wondered what it would do...

His (its?) opponent was Nebneata, a female vampire with a taste for battle and the blood that came with it. Covered in armor and a sword in each hand she was going to be deadly.

As the gong sounded the vampire was the first to move, but befroe she got to the lizard Xectacl raised the statuette and... nothing happened (2). Confussed he tossed the useless thing to the side and raised up his shield just in time before the first blade hit (5,5,3,1 rerolled to 4) two of which hit with a loud thud (3,3,2,2) but the thick armor deflected the blows (5,3).

Xectacl then swung with his obsidian blade and hit the vampire once (6,2,2,1) in the chest (6), but the blow bounced off her armor as well (3/5). Then his cold one attacked the vampire and bit her in the leg (6), and the strong jaws broke into the armor and into the flesh (4 to wound, armor failed with a 4, and ward failed with a 4). (Ld passed with a 3)

Nebneata didn't give up however and continued to attack her foe (6,6,3,2 rerolled to 2), but nothing could get pased his scaley hide (4,2,1)(armor made with a 2).

Then the scar vet made a single jab at the vampire (6,2,2,1), caught her in the chest again (6), and this time was able to push the blade deep within (2)(4).

Nebneata fell to the ground bearering her teeth and spitting blood, and then quickly went limp.

The gate opened and Cirobrior Sharpdagger, the second dreadlord of the tournament entered the ring. Unlike the other dreadlord Cirobrior didn't have any fancy cloak. In fact he didn't have any armor at all. All he had was a pair of nasty looking daggers and a potion that he drank as soon as he passed through the gate. Then with a scream he charged towards Xectacl with blinding speed, and onlookers could only barely as his daggers struck home as he quickly dodged around his opponent (5,4,2,2,1 rerolled to 6,5,3), and with unholy might the daggers were forced through his opponents armor (6,3,3,2,2) and even through a few didn't go deep, enough did such that Xectacl was left a bloody mess (three armor saves failed with 6,5,2,2,1).

As his master fell to the ground the coldone merely stood by the motionless body, and now it was time for the other gate to open and Huzatcl entered the ring.

Much like his partner he was riding a cold one, but he had a terrible looking weapon much like a blade with several blades coming out of it. He also head a small skull which he held in his hand, and then after pointing at the dreadlord, he crushed it and kicked his coldone to charge forward.

Cirobrior was faster and he jumped at his opponent and hit him several tmies with his bloody daggers (6,3,3,2,2 rerolled to 3,3), however his strength now gone, the blows did little damage (6,5,2,2,1)(6,4).

Then Huzatcl hit the dreadlord with his magical weapon (5,5,5,1) and with a twist the blades tore out Cirobrior's chest and his organs hit the gruond only a moment before he did (4,2,1)(remember that the one wound multiplies into four).

Huzatcl then raised his weapon to the cheering croud and Xectacl did his best to get to his feet (3). He was alive but only barely...

    Huzatcl and Xectacl move on.

Nebneata and Cirobrior Sharpdagger are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 9:

    Waaagher and Booomer
    vs
    Skippy

For the first time in the history of the tournament there was going to be a two vs one battle, and the odds were obviously heavily in the greenskins favour. In fact the skaven bet makers wouldn't even take bets unless you were foolish enough to bet on Skippy.

Already in the ring the wight king Skippy stood there awaiting his fate beside his skeletal steed. His master was dead and the only thing he could do now is follow his last command which was to win the tournament.

Coming to the ring where the Waaagher and Booomer, and once they got to the gave they quickly did a rick paper scissors, and with a smile Booomer jumped on his wolf and ran into the ring.

The gates were closed, the crowd looked on, and as soon as the gong was hit Booomer charged straight towards Skippy with murderous intent...

Booomer made a quick jab with his dirk (5,2,2,1) and hit Skippy in the left arm (3) but the blade just bounced off the armor (5). (Worlf hit but didn't wound (5/4). In return the wight king slashed with his ancient sword (6,2,1) and hit Booomer once (4) and the blade broke through his robe and into his hip (1) (spiteful shield wounds but doesn'tget passed armor (5/6). (Horse misses (3). (Ld passed with a 5)

Realizing he'd have to be more careful the goblin tried to move faster so that his opponent couldn't keep up. While behind him he made several fast attacks at his back (6,6,3,2)(4,4,2) and two of them broke through the armor and snapped some bones inside (5,1). (Wolf misses with a 3)

Skippy tried to spin his horse around but all he could manage was once glancing blow (5,2,1) which did no real damage (3), however the sword his the goblins shield and a force was released which ripped through the wight's body (6) and extinguished the life within (1).

Skippy's broken body fell to the ground and his skeletal steed crumbled with him.

As was expected the greenskins were victorious and the skaven were happy they wouldn't have to pay anyone out.

    Waaagher and Booomer move on.

    Skippy is eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 10:

    Matthias and Lady Olenda
    vs
Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell

The three of them walked towards the arena. In front Lady Olenda and Lahboura talked about the game plan and trailing behind them, still white faced from disbelief, Matthias sat on top of his warhorse.

"Remember to watch out for Firumsbell. That bow of his can make a mess of anyone. Get past that though and he's a push over. Draco will put up a fight, but the two of you can easily take him down."

"Which one of us should go in first?"

"Matthius for sure, just in case they start with Firmsbell."

Olenda turned her head back, "You hear that dear? Get in there and take him down." Matthius silently knodded his head, kicked his horse, and sped into the ring.

On the other side of the arena the ghoulish Firumsbell was about to run into the ring when his master stopped him. "You wait here. I'll take care of him..." Draco then stepped up onto his horse and rode forward to battle, leaving his minion to search for bugs to eat while he waited...

The first thing Matthias did was point his lance at the evil vampire. From it's tip came a dark force like before (wind of death) and the waves hit Draco (seven hits) making him shake in his saddle (6,5,5,4,3,1,1), and when it was all done a steam of blood came out of his ears and mouth (6,5,3,2).

Draco spat out some blood, cocked his lance in his arm and charged, and the grand master did the same. They came together with a crash! Draco's lance hit Matthias square in the chest (6,3,3,1 rerolled to 5,4,4)(6,4,3,2) and went straight through and broke off in his chest (6,1,1,1). (Horse hit but didn't wound (5/3). But he the amulet on his chest began to glow and although the damage was severe he stayed on his horse (one ward made with 6,5,1).

Matthias's lance also his count Draco in the chest (6,6,4,3)(5,3,2) and it as well tore through its mark (2,2,2). Draco looked down at the wound and the amulet on draco's chest began to glow. With a burst of light the hole in the knight ripped open even more (6)(ward failed with a 5).

The two warriors stared at each other for a second, smiled, tipped their head in respect, and then both fell from their horses and to the ground.

Lady Olenda burst through the gate to heal her lover, but the ghoul elve Firumsbell wasn't going to wait. He raised his magial bow and sent nine white arrows at the vampire, seven of which found their mark (6,6,3,2,2,2,2,1,1). Some of the arrows bounced off her armor...but not all of them (5,4,4,3,3,3,1)(two armor saved failed with 5,2,2). Olenda looked down at the arrows, then at Matthias, then at Lahboura as if begging for help, and then tumbled to the ground besides her lover.

Firumsbell, instead of cheering, quickly moved over to the fallen Olenda and began tearing at any exposed flesh and shoving it into his rotten mouth. Lahboura pushed her way into the ring and started towards him, but then Count Draco got up (5).

"I wouldn't get any closer if I were you..." The lance still stuck out of his chest, but he had now drawn out a sword and pointed it directly at the vampire lord.

Lahboura smirked, then glanced back at all the spectators, and backed away. Leaving Count Draco to put the hunk of wood out of his chest and for Firumsbell to continue feeding.

Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell move on.

Matthias and Lady Olenda are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 11:

    Marrow and Bile
    vs
    Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger

The heros had returned. Marrow and Bile stood in the center of the arena to the cheers of hundreds of skaven in the stands.

There were some non-skaven spectators in the stands too, but out of fear they huddled to the edges, leaving most of it to the frenzied rats.

When their opponents came out sounds off boos and hisses (and evil sounding sqweeks) could almost make a person deaf. A lot of the crowd threw rocks or knives at them. They bounced off Ragetalon's armor and Kairos would just raise his cloak and the objects would smiply disappear.

Once at the ring Bile left as Kairos entered, It was going to be a match up between the stars of the first round...

The crowd was chanting "Marrow! Marrow! Marrow!" as the gong sounded the start of the match and the rat pulled out the green fellblade. Kairos pulled out his halbred and was the first to strike the first blow.

One after another the strikes of the halbred hit Marrow (6,4,3,1 rerolled to 5)(6,5,5,2 to wound) and each time the blade broke through the armor (4,3,2) and even when his amulet began to shine it wasn't enough (5,3,1). So seconds after the fight began Marrow, the hero of the arena, dropped his fellblade and fell into a growing pool of his own blood.

The crowd was speachless(sqweekless) as they simply couldn't believe it could be over so soon... obviously Marrow was trying to trick his opponent and was just playing dead... wasn't he?...

Their worst fears were confirmed when the gate opened for Bile and began swinging his flail and runnnig towards the dreadlord (unless he was faking AND they planned to take him on 2 on 1...).

As the too combatants got closer the wapstone cloud generated from the plaque censor hit Kairos and he choked as his throat stated to rot (5). Ignoring the discomfort the dreadlord made several quick jabs at the charging Plague lord (6,6,2,2 rerolled to 6,4). Each time the halbred entered a different part of his chest and belly (4,4,4,4) and even when his amulet began to glow, it couldn't heal enough damage (5,3,2,1).

Just like his parter, Bile was forced to give in to his wounds and fell to the ground as Kairos backed out of the wapstone cloud.

The dreadlord then turned around to see... a cannon?!? The ratmen had brought a cannon left over from thechaos dwarfs into the ring and before Kairos could move the fuse had reached the cannon and the ball sped towards him.

Th cannon hit Kairos, but not before he raised his cloak, and the ball of iron disappeared (5)... All of the jaws of the skaven in the crowd dropped... and then in screams of terror (and mumbling something about a devil...) they all fled into any hole they could find.

With smiles on their faces Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger walked out of the arena, out of the tunnel, and headed towards the nearest tavern.

Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger move on.

    Marrow and Bile are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 12:

    Farien Dreamweaver
    vs
    Huzatcl and Xectacl

The fighters in the ring each had their own problems. On one side you had Farien whos partner had died leaving him alone, and on the other side was Xectacl who had suffered horrible wounds in the first round and could now barely stay on top of his cold one.

Farien silently made a vow to make his parner's sacrifice worth while, and as the gong sounded he drew out his long sword and charged towards the lizardmen, the talisman on his chest shining. Before he got there Xectacl pulled out the small statuette that had done nothing last round. This time a red halo formed around the statue and the high elve was knocked off his feet (5) as an invisible force hit him (then stops with a 1).

Spitting out some blood he jumped back to his feet and attacked Xectacl in a frenzy, determined not to take a life before he died, (5,4,3,1 rerolled to 6)(5,4,4,4 to wound) and in seconds the injured Xectacl was dead no the floor as he was cut to pieces be the long sword (4,3,1,1).

The talisman on his chest then burst throwing Farien to the ground once more. He jumped back to his feet again, although it took him a bit longer than last time.

Huzatcl then rode into the ring (gets 1 reroll) and pointed the small skull at Farien. The high elve didn't care about any silly voodoo however and charged forwards once again slashing away with his long sword (6,5,4,1) and hiting Huzatcl with two solid blows to the chest (5,4,1) but the thick armor kept the blade from entering his albino skin (5,1 rerolled to 5).

The lizardman than counter attacked with his obsidian blade (6,6,6,4)(6,4,3,1), and thrust it into the chest of the high elve (6,2,1).

Farien tried to keep to his feet, but it was too much and he fell to the ground, and only managed to say "I'm sorry Grunk" before his eyes closed and he slipped away.

Huzatcl again was left to cheer as his partner Xectacl tried to raise his broken body from the ground (4)(he still only gets a single wound as this is his current maximum). The old ones must have something special planned for Xectacl... either that or they just like seeing him get his ass handed to him over and over and over and....

    Huzatcl and Xectacl move on.

    Farien Dreamweaver is eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 13:

    Waaagher and Booomer
    vs
Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell

The end of the tournament was starting draw near as the semi-finals began. Each of the four remaining teams had battled hard to get where they were, and a win now put them in the finals.

Lahboura looked out from her tower with a glare full of daggers as she saw Count Draco and his ghoul make their way to the ring. If there was anything she could do to make him lose she would do it, but there simply wasn't the possiblility. So she placed a large bet against him and would spit on his grave if he lost.

Once the pair reached the gates Draco motioned for Firumsbell to go first, and with a grunt the undead wood elve fraged his sword and bow into the ring.

Then a cheer came from the crowd. Everyone's favorite rascals were o their way: Waaagher and Booomer. Greenskins from the stands shouted their support and a few lacy garments were thrown their way.

Once they had made it to the gate they looked in and saw Firumsbell waiting there. The two turned to each other, did a quick paper/rock/scissors, and with a grin Waaagher pulled out his and jumped into the ring.

The gates closed, the gong sounded, and as Firumsbell raised his magical bow, Waaagher held up his magical shield... and Lahboura held her breath...

A stagering 15 magical arrows flew out of Firumsbell's bow, 12 of which hit the braced orc warboss. Waaagher grunted from the blow (5,5,5,5,4,4,4,3,2,2,1,1) and only a couple of arrows broke through the magical shield (5,5,1,1 wards failed with 5,1) and entered his tatooed body.

Firumsbell then dropped his bow and the two warriors charged at each other, the elf striking the first blows. Twice his rusted blade hit Waaagher (6,5,2,1) but he couldn't hurt the beast (2,1). Waaagher then expertly slashed away with his magical sword (5,5,3,3,1) and tore apart the ghoul (6,4,1,1) and Firumsbell fell to the ground in a heap of rotten flesh.

Limping from the wounds of the arrow Waaagher then turned to face Count Draco smiling at him from atop his steed. The vampire set his lance in his army and then charged forward. His lance hit the savage orc on his raised shield (6,4,3 rerolled to 5,4) and broke right through and forcing its way into Waaaghers chest (5,2). (Only one ward made with 6,3)

Waaagher tried to find the strength to hit his opponent, but his will left him and he crumpled to the floor.

Draco smiled and looked up at the cursing Lahboura, but as he was doing this Booomer charged into the ring. The vampire sawhim coming however and pulled his lance from Waaaghers body in time to reset it against the charging night goblin.

His lance hit the goblin (4,2,2 rerolled to 3,1) although it also partially deflected by Booomers magical shield. A pain ripped through his body (6 to wound and armor failed with a 3) but then his amulet glowed and the magical force was redirected back against the goblin (4). Meanwhile the lance had done it's damage (2,2) and only Booomer's magical amulet saved him from death (6,4). (Steed hits but fails to wound (4/2)

With a lance now broken off in his gut, Booomer beared his teeth and jabbed at Draco with all his might (5,4,4,2), and his magical dirk (drawing great strength from the vampire) pushed its way into the vampires neck (6,6,2 to wound)(all armor saves failed with 4,3,2).

Gasping, and looking bown at the dirk in disbelief, Draco fell frmo his horse and went still. Booomer meanwhile hopped from his wolf and rushed to Waaagher to see if he was ok.

Things didn't look good... he wasn't breathing and there was a lot of blood on the floor... but then his body began to glow a dark light and the injuries patched themselves together (5). In a few moments the warboss was back on his feet and bellowing their victory to the crowd.

Her work done, Lahboura headed down to collect her winnings and bury Draco in the arena's outhouse...

    Waaagher and Booomer move on.

Count Draco von Kirchenwein and Lord Firumsbell are eliminated.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 14:

    Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger
    vs
    Huzatcl and Xectacl

Even though this was already the semi-finals, Ragetalon Bloodgorger took to the ring for the first time. Up until now Kairos Blackheart had wiped out all compitition without the need of his deamonic partner, and finally now the herald of khorne was going to get his chance, and being that he was covered in obsidian armor and on top of a juggernaut he looked like he would do very well indeed.

The two lizardmen rode towards the ring side by side (Xectacl still a mess from his previous battles), and keeping to form Xectacl entered the ring first (oh old ones... why don't you leave him alone...).

The gates closed and a rat ogre hit the gong.

Ragetalon pulled out his dark blade and charged towards Xectacl, but before he got there a shaking hand held out the statuette... a massive red blast burst forth and smashed into Ragetalon. The power was so great that the herald of khorne faded and returned to the warp (6 followed by a 6).

"Chump..." Kairos muttered as he entered the gate and drawing out his deadly halbred.

Putting the statuette back into a bag on his side Xectacl drew out his blade and charged towards the dredlord.

Kairos moved quickly and hit Xectacl in the side (6,6,2,1 rerolled to 5,1)(6,4,3) and the halbred broke into the lizardmen's chest (5,4,1) and Xectacl (yet again) fell to the ground broken.

And as was typical when Xectacl gpt beaten up, Huzatcl came to the rescue pointing a small skull at his opponent. (He gets 1 reroll)

Looking to end the fight quickly Kairos set at Huzatcl wth a series of jabs (6,5,4,2 rerolled to 4), many of which struck the lizard and various parts of his body (6,5,4,2), and even the old ones couldn't save him frmo the dark elves martial skill (5,2,2 rerolled to 2).

He fell beside Xectacl and the path of the lizardmen in this tournament came to an end.

Suddenly a rip opened in the warp in the middle of the arena and a bloodthirster tossed out Ragetalon. "Remember, you get one more chance! Dont' go all Xectacl on us!" And with that the rip closed.

The croud was excited that the tournament had reached the finals but were a but weirded out from what had happend. How could a skinny elve beat everyone so easily? If a rip in the warp could open so easily how could anyone sleep at night? And was that seriously Xectacl running out of the arena!?! Will thatguy ever die?

Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger move on.

    Huzatcl is eliminated.

Xectacl runs away to die another day.

Re: Doubles tournament-round 2: Battle thread

    Day 15:

    Waaagher and Booomer
    vs
    Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger

The cheers of the crowd could make a person go deaf. The regular stands were over flowing with spectators and many more were on the ground just for a fleeting hope to see the action.

The arena had been divited into two halfs. On one side was the devilish night goblin Booomer on his wolf facing off against the untouchable dreadlord Kairos Blackheart. On the other side was the massive savage orc Waaagher facing off against the deamonic Ragetalon Bloodgorger on his juggernaut.

Like last year the combatants had been matched up and when someone won their fight they would have to wait and see if their partner would do the same or if they would have to keep on fighting.

Last year the ogre brothers had ruled the ring. Who would rule this year?

The cheering only got louder as the gong was sounded and the battle began...

Karios was the first to attack, targetting Booomers chest with his halbred (6,5,4,3) and hitting him several times (6,4,3,2) and left two nasty gashes (6,4,1). In return the night goblin made a fury of strikes with his dirk (6,5,4,2)(6,2,2) and even though Karios blocked most with his cloak, one of them found his shoulder (5,5,3 wards failed with 5,2,1) and Booomer gave the blade a twist just to spite his opponent. (Wolf misses (1) and Booomer passes his leadershipwith a 4).

On the other side of the ring Ragetalon had charged towards Waaagher and had struck the orc over and over with his deamonic blade (6,5,1 rerolled to 4), hitting him all over his body (4,3,3) leaving some deep cuts in the orc's hide and only his tatoos saved him from death (6,3,2)(if that makes sense). Enraged Waaagher tried to stab his opponent with his magical blade, but the deamons armor seemed to rob it of it's power (6,5,2,2,1)(6,5) and the blade just bounced off his armor (6,4). (Jugger his but didn't wound (6,3)(1)) Shocked thatv his weapon had no effect Waaagher dropped his guard (ld failed with a 10) and Ragetalon made a quick jab with his sword (4) but the orc's reflex's saved him in time (1).

Kairo's pushed Booomer away and in doing so removed the dirk from his shoulder. Then he raised his halbred and swung it at the goblins face (5,4,2,1). (The spiteful shield wounds (2) but the ward saves him (2/4)) Booomer tried to duck but he still took a bad blow of the side of the head (6,3) and fell from his wolf (4,2). He put his hand to his head and felt his scalp hanging from his shattered skull. There was only one last thing to do... he reached into his robe, pulled out a bag, and threw it at the dreadlord. The bag landed at his feet and exploded (2)(4,2), but Kairos quickly raised his cloak and when the dust cleared he was still standing (2,2).

Hearing the bang beside him Ragetalon knew that his parner had done his job. Now he had to finish his. Spinging from his juggernaut he dove at Waaagher blade first and caught him in the chest (5,4,1)(4,4). The blade went all the way through (wards failed with 4,1) and Waaagher dropped his arms, fell to his knees, and slumped over.

The crowd had hoped for a closer fight, but they were still happy to see the violence caused by the new champs.

Some skaven rushed in to drag out the bodies of the greenskins and then a warlock came in to over the trophies to Kairos and Ragetalon. The winner pair grabbed the large golden cups and raised them to the crowd as they roared and whistled back.

Kairos Blackheart and Ragetalon Bloodgorger win the tournament.

    Waaagher and Booomer are eliminated.

With the respect won from the tournament Kairos went on to become a high ranking general for the dark elves, always dodging danger with his magical cloak.

Ragetalon Bloodgorger was blessed by Khorne and not only doubled in size, but was also given a dragon of khorne. Ragetalon used these to his full advantage soon after was the heavy weight champion of the UFC.

    The end...
