Great stuff here, all - amazing techniques and camouflage/colour schemes.
Does anyone have a shot of the dark eldar underside (eg is it mainly flat, or does it have fins like the top)?

The stormeagle inspired me to dig up two older models, and make a 3rd...

They are a bit small, but eh, they might get a proper tail.

I thought I had posted this in this thread, but couldn't see it when looking through, so let me know if I've put it twice.

Some gorgeous stuff on here too, I really need to get myself sorted with an airbrush.

Here is a work in progress Vendetta for my Macragge PDF (hence the blue paint, )

Also sorry for the crappy pics.

Still not finished yet but it's getting there:

Very nice stuff everyone. I have not posted since 2008 on this thread, so I thought I would throw some later pictures of my Valkyries and Vulture.

These were all taken just before I glued the canopies on.

Now I have returned to satisfy my desire to fly with a Vendetta conversion on my Necromunda Imperial Guard Log thread.

Re: 40k Flyer Head Thread for Stick Jocks

Here some flyers from my Grot Rebelz...

Some deep striking flamer sentinels from the previous codex, I called them Helicookaz...

With the latest codex came bigga and better flyers, which have become my army's centre pieces.

The helicookaz were even re-made as a mini-escort to represent the heavy bolter sponsons...

Thought it might be a good idea to revive this thread with the latest edition and flyers out.

theres necromancy afoot in this thread!!! However given 6th ed. rules and the rise of flyers I reckon this thread has as much right to be at the top as the infantry and tank threads.

Man, I'd forgotten this thread; it's still awesome.

Quick question, can anyone identify the model on the right of Ash's pic, the chap in the metal hat with the plasma pistol?

Necromunda "Underhive Scum with Plasma Pistol". Pretty sure that was the whole name. The unit was also a type of Hired Gun so you might find that in the description as well in an ebay search. Here's a lot that includes him: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Necromunda-H...item2573678110

    That's the chap.
His old catalogue number was 9947059906302.
Filled the bounty hunter slot in a Necromunda gang. He's a nice, characterful mini and would be relatively easy to swap out his plasma pistol for an other pistol (or a sword could look cool)

Brilliant thanks chaps, found it for £11.99 Buy It Now for an unpainted one and got that, no sense getting into a bidding war when I only want the one mini.

Re: 40k Flyer Head Thread for Stick Jocks

Already posted this in Treadhead, but just found this thread (I know, noob mistake, I promise I lurked moar) A lot of very good flyers on here, It makes me want to make more...ah if only funds allowed...

Anyway, my contribution to this thread:

general consensus on a couple of other forums I belong to is that the Stormtalon isn't the best looking model. I thought there was something salvageable from it though so this is my attempt. This will pretty much count as a Vulture in game.

I know it's not the greatest, it's my first conversion on this scale (Previous ones being limited to a few infantry figures)

Full thread for the conversion is here: http://z4.invisionfree.com/Boot_Camp...pic=14695&st=0

Pilot, this was my first try at any kind of real greenstuff sculpting, so I know it's pretty rough.

Mostly finished, the weapons are stand ins. The mounts for them are magnetized, and I intend to revisit them later:

    Painted:

I intend to put landing gear on it later, once I have decided on a type and scheme I am satisfied with. The main rotor has actually been shortened a bit since this pic was taken. C&C welcome.

Re: 40k Flyer Head Thread for Stick Jocks

Nice. I'm not a big fan of helicopterized vultures/valkyres, but that looks really believable. Though I guess it is a lot smaller, compared to the flyers Maybe some addition of Engines below the Blades would have been nice - or are they below the body? Don't know the Stormtalon firsthand. I have to agree, I don't like the model out of the box, but a great base for conversions.

If you use it as a Vulture, what Weapon loadout? the one in the first picture? Or can you swap them?
