A wounded Wraithlord charging my 4 Slaanesh Possessed Marines, who then proceeded to kill it in 1 round of fighting..

Defiler shot scattering off a unit of Dark Reapers, and onto the Wave Serpent of a Harlequin squad, and destroying it.

Killing 9 Guardians and wounding a Farseer with 1 Whirlwind shot.

1 Vet serg with combat sheild saving a game for me (result = draw, rather than loss) by going 3 turns till the end of a game with a tooled up, 3 power weapon DA vet squad. So many invun saves!

I know it isn't 40k, but my skeleton captain being the only survivor of a unit of 10 skellies and 1 vampire at the hands of a wardancer unit, then killing a wardancer by himself! He crumbled, but has since been known as Nugget!

Affecting in game repairs to my defiler and sticking my fingers to it. Then returning from the bathroom (wash with warm soapy water kids!) with both my hands stuck to it...

i swear i hadnt been drinking.

In a very old game of 40k, watching a fleeing gretchin get hit by a barbed strangler. unfortunately, he was running past my chaos lord and terminator bodyguard at this point and they all got ensnared.

Re: 40k moments that made you smile

Just yesterday, my opponent fired a baneblade cannon right into the middle of my sentinel recon formation, hitting the majority. I think he damaged 2

Then there was the bit where my demolisher squadron lost to a demolisher. My turn: Shot 1 - 8 inch scatter, shot 2 - 9 inch scatter, shot 3 - 7 inch scatter.
His turn: Shot hit, penetrated destroyed.

Rinse and repeat for three turns :'(

My chaos lord with a lightning claw going up against a 10 man black templar assault squad, a grand marshal and an emp champion in CC all by himself. The combat lasted 4 turns and ended with the chaos lord standing all alone in a pile of corpses.

Celestine the Living Saint being dropped by my last five Spinegaunts (Shooting). He rolled a 1 on the armor save (She had just come back from dying and only had one wound) and then a 11 on LD to see if she would come back yet again.

    2nd Edition:

Remember Strategy Cards? There was one called 'Reinforcements' which meant you could bring back a dead unit on your own table edge when it got wiped out.

I was Eldar allied with DA vs Chaos. The Chaos player managed to get a foothold on a tall 'Valley' we had made and shot all 12 krak missiles from one cyclone at a Deathwing squad and blew them all to bits (In 2nd ed you added 1/2" blast for each additional missile and had a supply of 12. All of them = 5.5" blast!)

Deathwing squad brought back with Reinforcements Card. Chaos player fires all 12 missiles from 2nd cyclone. Get wiped out again!

The Other Moment for me was a Classic Sci-Fi scene in one of my apocalyspe game, The last of My Elysians were encircled upon a Small outpost,They faired decently against some small groups of My mates Alienids,After roughly Four Turns things got Sour as Two of the Four Tarrantulas were knocked out of Action (The HB ones Too!) and the Queen had finally showed her ugly face as the swarm launched its last great offensive a force consisting of around 150 lesser creatures and 50 larger ones from, my two mates.
As the swarm eclosed and began passing through the barricades they were only halted by launches of the Last two Cyclops units,Finally all seemed lost as My sniper units were overun and the last two understrength infantry squads along with the Veteran Senior Officer (The Last survivor of the Command) were pushed to the Landing Pad.
But as the day seemed doomed, ally finally arrived His Maruder and Thunderbolts raining death as his Stormtroopers squads deepstriked in,Followed shortly by my extraction team Of Vultures and Valks.

Claiming Victory But at a Steep Price,The Imperials Lost 79% of their original force of 86 and the Alien Swarm was reduced to 12% of the original 176.

Grey knight HQ vs Chaos HQ

Chaos HQ rapid fires combi plasma, 2 1s, 2 1s... 1 wound left

charges in, all the crazy Force weapon attacks fail completely and the guy gets a ..... CHAINFIST IN THE HEAD

NOTHING IS MORE BRUTAL THAN A CHAINFIST IN THE HEAD....

Chaos Lord with Combi-plasma and chainfist in terminator armour and mark of khorne... it somehow worked ....

Other highlighs involve seeing 2x Chaos Nurgle Daemons players duke it out, once the tallyman got his 20 kills...

Everyone wounds on 2s, 5+ invulns and then 3+ FNP... 40-50 models in the middle combat... 2-3 casualties a turn...

Btw... Nurglings eating Carnifexes is dead sexy

Re: 40k moments that made you smile

Funniest moments in any 40K game

About a year before Apoc came out was playing a 4000 pt Tau (2 players) vs a 4000 pt Mixed Guard/Witch Hunter force - An Armored Coy + about 20 deep striking squads of guard vs me and my mates Tau. In the last turn in single demolisher was left in the Gaurd players army and in the previous turns the Inquisitor forces Orbital Bombardment had missed its intended target and they had forgotten to turn it off!!!

Yep you guessed it last turns shooting phase this damned thing lands smack on top of the demolisher and blows it to pieces.

It took several minutes for me and my mate Al to start breathing properly again.

Re: 40k moments that made you smile

Ok so we were playing a Super Apoc game this was near to 100,000k each side we had to play the game in a Closed down toystore next to are GW shop because it was a specal game the store manager disided to use the Shops Mega gargent A massive Ork titan. ( It's about 4 foot 3 inchs in hight)

So the game for me was going fantastic I had helded the center board with my Tau Force for a full 4 turns The IG and CSM players had throw Super heavys, Warhounds and Troops at my Fireing lines but we Helded but they held the brige and was wining the game for the Chaos faction by 1 point. So on to turn 5, they disded to Blast the Gargent as the mighty titan had Blow abbadons unit back in to the warp in one turn of shooting they wiped out all it void sheilds (14) and all hull points (10) the rolled Apoclipted on the chart but unlike a super heavy or titan the gargent Exploded at Streath D for 2D Yards.

The Blast Riped past across all but 1 board Killing everything but my Commander Farsight and Two units of fire warriors in the devilfish's I quitle sliped on to the objective to win the game for the Impreium + Tau.

My commissars stormblade (the batsion of hate) surviving every game it had been in til until my friend having every thing in the opposing force shoot at it. it shrugged off 2 stompas, a baneblade and a hellhammers shooting. got nailed by a mega gargant.

Commissar yarrick charging a ork stompa that he couldn't hurt.

I have three quite funny ones.

    1) My Terminator with AC lets rip at a Dark Eldar Archon and retinue. He instant-deaths the Archon and both his Incubi protectors, with a single salvo of AC fire.

    2) My Drop Pod Storm Bolter kills a Crisis Battlesuit in one turn of firing, and the battlesuit was unwounded. (No joke, it really happened!)

    3) A Dark Eldar squad plows into my Tac Marine squad. Two turns later, there's six marines in a solid ring around the last surviving Dark Eldar, the Sybarite.

    some new ones to add:
killing marneus calgar with a bolter

my space wolf venerable dreadnought taking on a ultramarine one and the two of them killing each other at the same time, and then rerolling both (venerable rule) and causing both dreads to explode!!

now having the satisfaction of killing both abbadon and calgar with bolters

This probably served me right, but my monolith got immobilsed by a venerable dreadnought, so the monolith enacted vengence with its particle whip by.....scattering 8 inches smack ontop of itself and blowing itself to tiny bits...

Re: 40k moments that made you smile

Having a lone surviving Chaos Marine manage one "last man standing"-roll after the other. He was then assaulted by 5 Dark Eldar, stood his ground and butchered them on the run after two rounds of combat. The round after that he wipped out his Bolter and destroyed a Ravager (4th Edition game...) that was dumb enough to ignore him and present the rear.
I set the model aside and am currently considering modeling a Rambo-style bandana over his helmet...

my IG army annihilating nearly an entire space marine army in the first shooting phase, followed by actually assaulting the marines and being successful. all of this was against my own brother

Re: 40k moments that made you smile

Last turn of the game against necrons in forth ed I have 1 csm left vs a 20 man warrior unit the warriors do nothing and the csm kills 1 and the necron player rolls an 11 for the test and I promtly kill of his ENTIRE unit in the sweeping advance phasing the necrons
    out.

Agreeing to play a gaurd army on a fantisy style battle field in 5th........and winning.
