    D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

    Ok guys,

I just wanted to show you what I have done up til now and what I'm doing at the moment.
First I want to show you my work on building a Renegade Imperial Guard Army. For this I use the normal IG-rules or the Renegades and Heretics list from IA5.
Up til now I do not own enough renegade minis to build a proper list. Therefor my old Steel Legion army will have to lend its troop strength to the unholy forces of Chaos.

Later on (which means days to weeks) I surely will post some pics of my other armies. Which means of my Death Guard as I have salvaged many parts of my Alpha Legion for my Death Guard.

So, enough babbling for the beginning, more to come.

    Here come the pics.

    C&C most welcome

Really like the cammo patters on the imperial tanks.

Out of interest, what have you done for the renegade missile launcher loaders..
are the ammo containers a kit or scratch build?

Re: D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

I took sprue part of Tamiya or Revell kits (not sure).
just cut 3 pieces of equal length, glue together, then wrap some thin plasticard around the ends.
add a handle from the Leman Russ kit. and some chain to attach it to the loader.

    That's it.

For the tanks I'm trying something new. hopefully tomorrow I have new pics available

A really nice army you have there, the consistent colour scheme helps to tie it all together.

Maybe you could highlight the cloth and armour on the men as they look a little flat when compared to the tanks (which look nice and gritty), or have you highlighted but thte flash is wassing them out.

Which troops do you mean? The Steel Legion or the Renegades??

The steel Legion is really not highlighted that much only a light drybrush. I'm thinking about giving them a wash with Devlan mud. that should tone down the colors a bit and also add some shading. I'll just try.

The Renegades are drybrushed quite heavily and then a wash with a diluted mix of Chestnut ink and Devlan mud was done. Some of the "older" renegades, old is relative, those were the first bunch, the ones with the oragne eyes, got a wash with the fantastic army painter. But I did not really like that stuff!!!

    Ok, guys.

Please don't think I'm lazy at the moment. I'd really love to present you the first tank in it's new camo scheme ... but there is no camo scheme yet. Only a brown undercoat and no new minis also.
I got sick, got myself a fu**ing cold, with fever and everything you don't need. So now I'm somehow in some kind of running order. But on Wednesday I got my oral exam (I'm nursing student) and I still have to learn a bit (damn anatomy)

    Here I am again,

I should have learned for my oral exam tomorrow, but I got lazy. But not in terms of painting.

    So here's a WiP Enforcer/Commissar.

It's bases upon a Enginseer, cause it has nice Carapace armour. The face was removed with a dremel, then a resin skull was glued in place. As a powerfist I used a CSM chainsword, because I don't like the IG powerfists.

pics are not that good, because it's dark allready

Ok here come the pics, C&C welcome as ever

Re: D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

    Ok, got something new.

Did a lot of partying lately. Remember, I got my exam done. Was partying some days. Got drunk, had a terrible hangover. So not much painting done. (To be honest, none.)

But now I'm back in working order. So here are two Leman Russes, one BT and one Exterminator.

    Here is the Pic:

Those two were done to try out the painting scheme.
Now I will weather and detail them. once that's done I will make the other tanks in that scheme, too. That means another BT, an Executioner, a Destoyer, a Griffon, a Hellhound, two Chimeras, a Shadowsword, a Baneblade and a Malcador. So a lot of work ahead of me

I dig the scheme, very cool.

And don't drink and paint, the minis usually turn out really bad. Just saying.

So, some new stuff in here!

Got the LR - BT mostly done. Only weathering still to come.
That is a washing with black and brown oil paints. A drybrush with Bleached bone and some chipping with Bleached Bone.
Some rust do the exhausts and I'm done.

    Enjoy the pics:

Well, you might think I'm allready dead, because there is no new stuff coming here.
I moved away from my parents house (160 km away) started a new job and therefor had not a lot of time to paint. but some days ago I got that little beauty.

He is still wip. I hope to finish him tomorrow.

More will come the next weeks, I promise. A full squad of Emperors Children has already been ordered. Hope they'll arrive soon.

    C&C most welcome

I forgot to mention: Better Pics will come tomorrow. Only took those in a hurry. Will got to bed now. Good night.

Re: D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

Allright, as I want to star a Word Bearers-army in the next weeks I started to dig through my CSM collection, to see, what I all got. At the same time I took some pics and glued some magnet under the bases.
So enjoy the pics and give me some Comments and critics:

Here we go: (roughly in order of painting)

Lucilius, my Slaanesh-General/Lieutnant. This is one of the oldest minis I still own. He did not change since 2002 when I painted him for my first 40k Army, the Angeli Cupiditati, the Angels of desire. A CSM force played after the EC-rules. Only 2 minis from this army remain, all other were used for my second army.

    9 Alpha-Legion-Chosen
My next army was a 2000 pt Alpha legion.

My Plaguemarines, build in squads of 7 as in the old Codex, today mostly used in squads of 10

2 Death Guard-generals, I used to play them riding with the PMs in their Rhinos. today I don't use them very often.

Re: D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

    Thanks eltanko,

both the bikes and the havocs are still pip, however originally I wanted to let the havocs be on that level of painting and just doing some more detailwork.

But I don`t like the red anymore. I started to redo the red on the bikes with mechrite red, where it before was red gore. next will be a wash of either badad black or devlan mud. after that I'll ad the scripture and add some highlights on the metal. If I like the result, then I'll redo the havoc, too.

BTW here at my home there is a completely new CSM Battleforce + a Rhino + a Fortress of Redemtion.
Allready build and painting started:Land-Raider, Predator Anihilator, FW-Chaos-Warhound
All for the Word Bearers. So there is some stuff to come!

Re: D3V!L's chaotic log of Chaos

    Allright,

A short update. Today I did some work on my growing WB-Army. First thing I started when opening the Battleforce was building the Possessed. I've been collecting the wings from that box for some time and got hold of 3 wings, so now I got 5 in total, for 5 possessed, so now I got myself a nice 5 man squad of raptors.
I started painting today. Nothin is finished yet, the skin will get another highlight, the rims will get metal and all the horns and claws will become bleached bone.
hopefully I'll manage to finish them tomorow. I also started work on two rhinos, but here the pics of the raptors.
