    Paz's Iron Wolves SM great company

    HUGE PILE OF PAINTED MODELZ, PG 3 BOTTOM

    Hey guys, long time no post. my daemon army is coming along nicely, but recently, i entered a "paint or die" contest at my local rogue trader store. as a side project of late, I've been converting a space marine iron wolves great company.
    Now, I've always found the space wolves to be fascinating, but what got me into space lupines was the new(ish) ghoul plastics for fantasy. As soon as i saw them, i thought "a little greenstuff, and we've got wulfen!" now, imagine wulfen with jump packs, and that's the ultimate in ridiculousness for 40k. I had planned originally to do a counts as blood angels rules, using wulfen as death company, but as soon as i heard about the new space marines, more specifically the iron hands rules, the army really gelled for me. robotic space marines and werewolves, it REALLY doesn't get better than that. :P

    The color scheme

    Iron wolves ven. dreadnought- idea totally jacked from titan's black templars dread!

    Awesome stuff those are some rad and brilliantly characterful models, be looking forward to seeing more of this.

    I still have an itchy desire to see those assault wulfen with chainswords though as my one criticism

    potatolegs= yeah i though about giving them chainswords, but it seemed more wolfish if they used their claws, to set them apart from reg. assault marines.

    Drakon= here ya go!

    love these cheers. Just wondering what are you using for the heads before the GS goes on and the hands or are these the wulfen models that use to be sold??

    and i agree i think just claws better suits them than carrying a chainsword

    Absolutely ridiculous and I LOVE IT! I can't recall seeing a Space Marine Chapter with this much character and executed so well. I take it that the Servitors will get some greenstuff, and I really look forward to seeing them. I didn't even recognize the Ghoul faces on the Assault Marines.

    I sincerely hope this log stays constantly active for a long while to come.

    This is great work so far. Great use for the ghouls with both the servitors and the werewolves. I might have to pinch the idea for Elysian helmets on the scouts - who would have guessed that they would have fitted so well. Look a lot better than the square heads on the sprue.

    I usually don't read Space Marine project logs, but made an exception here and opened the thread.

    Wow! Really, really great stuff! The Assault werewolfmarines look awesome and I really like the servitors. Those VC ghouls seem to be very good for lots of things even though I'm not super fond of them as ghouls. And to accompany the great modelling, you even paint well.

    Have you thought of green stuffing the multimelta-servitor's bag a bit? It looks a tiny bit off. Also, the Dreadnought's round shield looks a bit detached just hanging there. Would it be a good idea to add something visible that's fastening it into place? Like ropes or chains or something along those lines?

    Anyway, keep up the good work - really imaginative and brilliantly executed all told.
    There (still) is no spork.
