Ruinus returns...with marines "The Thousand Knights"

    OLD BITZ
Righty then, ive returned from a horrible long slumber. only to find out that the new marine codex isnt far off from being released, and my own chapter isnt even near completion!

so what am i to do?...well alright it was a stupid question. im to beguine getting these guys completed in a month time and also to get these guys not to look basic.
however im in the middle of being stuck due to one ingredient is missing to what i use to create the copper brass look on my chapter...Chestnut ink!
sadly it no longer exists! and all have been replaced with these washes...however they do a an amazing job on filling in details .....but it dosent do the job for my colour scheme!

so im to be repainting the entire army in a new colour scheme...well im not really, just replacing the copper armour....for a different copper armour :P

i just dosent seem to work, as i gaze at my army.

while you may of seen these guys before, im just showing the doomed colour scheme.

so what are my target actions?
1 find a better copper colour to replace the existing.
2 add shading to the white areas, and also ad shading to the bleached bone areas as well.
3, make the hair a light grey could rather than a white look.
    4. get the entire army done before the release of the new marine codex.

well im wanting a copper simular to my existing copper scheme, which i should of mentioned that, as im trying to be doing it with these new washes, as the inks no longer exist.

well the inks wasn't watered down it was applied straight from the pot.

but i do have a new solution to the scheme, as i may go over my pre painted marines with a dwarfan bronze and use the wash devilan mud. while the unpainted marines; i may do the original painting technique and then apply dwarfan bronze on top as well as the wash on top of that.

ill update soon to show the results.

Ooh, i remember these! Good to see them back. Perhaps try using either Gryphonne Sepia for a brighter bronze or Devlan Mud for a grimier one.

    Update

well then ive just finely found my perfect scheme, but im not showing it off yet!
however ive just built up some veterans (vanguard veterans) and another tactical squad, while ive just suck on some peanut heads on them (bald heads)
ive once again grabbed my crafting tool and began green stuffing some nice radical hair styles!

    for example!

    horrible baldies!

now after adding green stuff, there no fear of balding

while ive also updated my librarian
ive added some accessories form the dark angels sprue and black templers,

while ive given him some hair as well :P
thought it would be alot more better!

Emperor's Holy Conditioner! Those are some emo marines!

Seriously, great stuff. Totally unique, and with a suitably brooding coloursheme will look fantastic. Scrap the copper - go for black and deep blues or reds for these guys. They're going to need some psyber-ravens too to look brooding with. In fact, the leader guy with the really long hair looks so great I've got to try and copy that for my Emperor's Children.

Edit: I see the Librarian. Look great - apart from the washing up bowl on his head. Looks totally out of place. Is that going to change?

    EMOS! Blerghhh! distgusting filth!
there nowhere near like emos, more like albino goths!
nagh, ive tried to avoid the black for my marines...too many chapters have a black colour scheme.
however they do have reds, you may not notice, but the have red Aquila's on their chest!..well the painted ones do though :P

hmm well the psyber-ravens i like the sound of...i may have to give this one a try.

well the librarian, is going to have some detailing added to the bowl on his head, its part of some basing, then ill be adding on top of it, he wasnt my favourite model..in fact one of my most hated, now hes turning alright...very slowly

    Update!

right sorry for not updating for so long! well way before the codex was released, i managed to get a peak into it, and found out a great stupid amount of rapid changes, i had to delay my painting and get back out the glue and clippers and beguine doing rapid changes... well i failed those parts on getting it all complete on time

and it got worse cos i had all my art college coursework to get complete as well

so now ive come back yet again now taking some time in getting some more work done with these guys.

Right then ive just come back and beginning to create a bad boy!
a master of the forge with a conversion beam!
after reading up its profile, and looking up that it replaces the servo harness and seeing the weapon is stupidly powerful, i could imagine the gun itself is pretty large! and having a servo arm or two to help the master of the forge lift the thing up.

so here are my wip pics! while ill soon stick up some more updates! enjoy!

    Update!

yes yes i know, its been far too bloody long since ive last updated.

well then iv have finely got round to be painting the entire troops on foot, since its half term from college, id thought id best get these guys out of the way...and fast!

so far i have done the prime copper-gold, which firstly done with mythral silver and then topped with dwarven brass then shining gold, then i use brown ink on top of it! gladly college sells the brown ink at the college store!, while ive also managed to get the shoulder guards finished and the areas that need bleach bone, so far im now doing the gold and bionic bits at the moe.

yes sorry for the terrible picture quality, however ive got the best invention since the toaster to try out
ill be looking forward to be bring out detailed results with this.

Yeah yeah yeah i know i know i havent update again in a few weeks, sooo what, ive decided to give you all a sneek peak on what been done so far.
sadly due to insufficient lighting the images the colours may not turn out well due to the camera dosent like this type of lighting.
what i have done is repainted the jointed areas black and also colored the elbow guard in and finely gave it a wash...the results i hope are better, well to me im happy how it turned out...now 58 more models to go!

what i have done i have shaded the white using the blue wash to give it a better effect, however i only aplied it on the bottom half of the white areas.
while ive also made the hair a more darker tone to help separate it from the white rims, however i not happy on how the hair turned out, maybe i should try and go for a like blond colour.

    Re: Ruinus returns...with marines

right better update, ive just gone done some decent photos, where you can get some better veiw of the details and colour scheme.

so you can this time see the effort ive been trying to show you, even it dosent really matter cause i feel like as if im talking to a brick wall.

    so here you are

comment or discriminated it if you must.

    Re: Ruinus returns...with marines

Well now, after having mostly three quarters of my entire army painted, i decided to use them in the carnage tournament, sadly i only managed to win one battle only due to i havent played in a long time and im to familiar with the 5th edition rules...yet.
however ive decided to return to this blog and to show these guys with there newly painted scheme, same as it previous, only its more tidy'er :P

however the lighting isnt doing justice to the photos, making the details not show up well and making the images look dull, so ill be waiting later on tonight when it get darker so i may use my stupidly over watted light bulbs :P

Duuude, love the colours. Long haired Marines can´t be a bad thing anyway!

However. You lazy git! You must remove the flash and moldlines. AT least the big chunks of crap on the shoulderpad-rims.
Doing all the good work with greens and stuff and then this!

Thanks for the bigger pics, btw.

    Keep it up!

    Cheers
