Re: Lord Azoth´s Dark elves Painting Log

I love the use of the gamezone cold ones. I still like them better than the new GW ones (even tho they did get better) The Gamezone dark elf minis and the new GW ones are really tempting me to start dark elves. Keep up the good work.

Lord Azoth´s Dark elves Painting Log: chariot raiders

another step, painting is harder to me than modelling conversion, so my speed has lowered...

Now I´m painting the CO, but think it will take me a little longer I suppused, the size is huge..and Im a slowpainter

The skin look strange, and reallly dont know what to do with it..so I´ll improvise

Lord Azoth´s Dark elves Painting Log: dark riders

Hi agian after holidays!.. Im back with this little dark pointy ears..

As I said I´m more confortable setting up than painting, so I´ve left the pegasus by now and starting to set one unit of GZ dark riders....and it has been like hell...

I enlarged necks and legs to avoid them to look like ponies, and the alloy is so bad than pinning was horrible.
As you canb see in the photos some hooves have disappeared because when I tried to drill legs to insert the thick pin to the base the leg literally shredded... ARGGHH!!

So now I must fill all the gaps and redo hooves in some horses

Here are the raiders, they dont have any conversion, only a big pin to insert them in the horses, initially I think they wont be glued...maybe easier transport but we´ll see

Lord Azoth´s Dark elves Painting Log: dark riders

slow but without losing the pace..
here they are, the dark riders..

I´ve filled gaps, added some manes in the longer necks, done base for all of them, etc.
Yesterday they were primed and today I´ll start with the steed....

the skin will be a dark, very dark, purple...just going on testing colour schemes

the image is a link to the real size, but dont know how I can incate this...because you seee the post and really dont know the image is a link , any help?

    the rest of the photos

These horses has scars across their skin (or marks I have understod like scars)..I´ll paint them in a brighter colour (base + dark fles, golden flesh..I´ll do some mixes and will see the one I like more).

but what do you think, Must I paint them before or after dipping??, think before it to apply it to scars also..

You've got some excellent results there with the dynamic poses and a great 'look' to the models. I'm looking forward to seeing more and seeing your army arrayed en-masse.

Wow, I love the chalkyness of the paint! Which paint is it you use? Obviously smite me down if it's GW stuff but it looks comparatively different, top job!

Those cold ones are fantastic models there heads remind me of that critter in Hellboy, Samuelle or soming like that.

I use differente companies paint, but mainly GW or vallejo....

As I´m priming in black most of paits are foundation one, applied enough dilluted in water (enpough to cover but enough dilluted to not paste the paint)...

for example red is mechrite from foundation, metallics are GW and blue skin is azur + oxford from vallejo..

the "trick" is to apply better 2 thin layers than one thick

All right, I've had no expierence with Foundation Paints, they look pretty darn consistant if I may add! I might have to investigate them soonish
