They are looking nice. Did you just use foundations and wash?

I'm looking forward to seeing your Knight develop. The Corsair captain looks very good too.

With the WG, what colour are their "helms" going to be? If black then I would make the loincloths red...or perhaps a bone colour with red markings.

    Great Idea for Eldar.

I was looking to build Guardian Squads around Prince Yriel and the DE Coarsair parts have given me a few great ideas.

Fantastic diary. Hope you keep it going! Subscribed.

    Happy Gaming,

    Thanks for the replies.

No pictures today, as I just went over to Germany visiting the family for the holidays.

at norseman: Yes the heads will be black and I think you are right with red. I will try that.

at deamonkin: No foundation paints. white undercoat with sepia and devlan washes and then painted with bleached bone, but hte bone is far from finished. I am not really content with it yet.

    Thats it for now.

    Re: Eldar Corsairs and Exodites

    Update on the Exodite Knight:

Obviously I still have to add the arms and sculpt the left hand resting on the saddle/holding the reins. Also I am not sure where to put the Catapult. Either hanging on a belt around the shoulder, fixed to the saddle or fixed to the back, where normally the antennas go.
Any Ideas on that or on other things that could be improved are allways appreciated.

Just checked this log from the first post and I must say I like it!
Niec work on the conversions, the models look very natural.

Great work on the first knight.

    Re: Eldar Corsairs and Exodites

    Thanks OnnO.

Did some more work on the Knight.

I added the arms and tried to make the lance more eldarish. Also I sculpted the reins. Next step will be thump and and vambrace.
I decided to fix the Shuriken Catapult to the saddle as it is too huge to fit anywhere else. I addition I'll try to add some baggage to the cold one, to make it look like the Knight is on the ride for prolonged time and not only for a sunny sunday afternoon hack.

Nicely done . Someone at my local store has also done this when the cold ones first came out and every time I see it it's just awesome looking .

Looking good there Gropius! Any chance of a side view so we can see the shuriken catapult? I love what you did with the helmet crest.

the best thing about your conversions is that it looks so natural*, none of it looks forced.

*as natural as elf pirates in space riding big lizards can get, I hope you know what I mean.

These are fantastic, I didnt realized DE parts would blend so nicely with the eldar guardian bits. Outstanding.

    Re: Eldar Corsairs and Exodites

Thanks for the replies. That really helps staying motivated, even if I don't have that much time to make real progress.

at Norseman: The Catapult isn't fixed to the model yet. First had to make a grip for it.

I hope to get an update up later this evening.

    Re: Eldar Corsairs and Exodites

Yeah, that update one the same day did not really work out

Here is a new pic of the knight, although not much different than the last one

Although I wanted to put the catapult on the lizard, that didn't work, so this is the final position. Now I have to sculpt a decent mounting for it.

I would like to hear what your opinions on the pennant are. It is only a mock up at the moment, but what do you think? Keep it or get rid of it?

Thank you herr Gropius; I love it. Very good converting there.
Love the pennant, it adds a strong sense of movement to the model.

    Re: Eldar Corsairs and Exodites

Wow, what an awesome army. I thought about doing exodites for a long time but at the time the cold one models were so terrible I couldn't bring myself to do it. You've nailed the theme, and you have that eye for detail that serves modelers so well.
