A game called Heroscape. It is well known in America as a game that either 7-14 year olds play, or as a game old guys with huge buckets of cash play. In other news, I have finished 4 fire warriors, one of which (the one with the carbine) counts as a pathfinder. I got these off of ebay, and they were painted pretty badly, but I just had to apint them, so here they are. I have 18 more to go after this, plus I need to order some replacement arms/bases.

Well, I had one the the mods merge all my threads, so I will be doing a mixed update today.

First up is a pic of my WIP Tau Firewarrior unit. I made the rubble on the bases with cut up sprue and fishing tackle box dividers.

Next are my two (finally!) finished units of 25 orc boyz.

All righty, here is another update, this time it is: new savage orcs! Yep, my army will have 30-ish of the crazy buggers. Tell me what you think!

Okay, in a move to save money, I have decided to make 19 of my savage orcs modular so I can run them as savages with double choppas, or boyz with choppa and sheild. I was originally going to use magnets, but that was to exspensive. So I got out my bitz box and found a tone of spears, and decided to make them modular like this: Take a small chunk off of a spears handle, glue it to the arm, and then drill a hole in the middle of the spot where you usually glue the arm on. Do this for each arm you want to make modular, and voila! Modular, cheap orc boyz. I will be drilling the holes later today.

I love the Retribution thing - I don't play Warmachine but it looks like a really inventive colour scheme. I'm liking the Orc Boyz but I would maybe highlight the shields, or add some more detail anyway, as they look slightly plain - which is a shame because the rest of them looks great!

@Seaswift: I looked over the sheilds, and they do look a little bland, so I am adding freehand jaws on some of the sheilds.

Okay, I am expirementing with a light box at the moment, tell me how the pics turned out. Some of the FW's heads looking slightly dingy in real life, almost like the sealer is yellowing. I cannot decide how to do the bases either, since the urban ones I am doing look a little bit boring.

I have decided to revamp my empire with a new color scheme. I like the red and the black MUCH better than my purple, yellow, and red color scheme. Tell me waht you guys think.

Hey, thanks! I have unfortunately had to put my empire army on hold,since I sold my AB, but I *will* start it back up once the 8th edition AB is availble. Hopefully Mantics human line will look as good as GW's empire line, and will be out by the time I start my empire army again.

Tau update
I have been working on my Tau army for the past 5 days, and I have been making a lot of progress, and when I get this 500 point block done I will try to get my hands on my next batch of figs(hint: m--------d).
The Firewarriors are finished, I just need to get the bases finished.

These are my Pathfinders. When I am done I will have 8 in the unit.

The Devilfish is almost done, and I am espcially happy with the shine effect I got on the lenses.

love how the O&G project is progressing. This is not one of those 10 million points O&G projects is it? oh yeah, just a suggestion: some grass (flock?) on the bases would make a massive difference.

Hey, thanks! Yes, the cat is pretty nice, though he HATES my dog. My O&G army has been painfully slow from the start, and I only own 3,000 points worth of models, and I cannot use all of them in my standard sized games of 2,250 points. I REALLY need to get 'er done, though, and thankfully the end is in sight, I only have 8 savage orcs left to do. I am thinking of flocking them when I get my hands on some battlefoam trays, because ATM my storage "solution, AKA put them in a fishing tackle box" is really quite awful, and would knock the flock off of them. The Tau's bases also need finished, thankfully I managed to finish the FW, Crisis, and D-fish's bases yesterday, adn will be getting pics up as soon as possible.

Been WAAY to long since I updated this thread. I bought an Island of Blood Elf Mage, and I have been painting it up to put it in the display cabinet at my FLGS, with a little brochure with info on my painting service. It ought to work.

The gemstones have been worked on on the Mage, the skin has been worked on, and I have generally made good progress, considering the fact that I am a little tied up with commission work and the like ATM. The model does need some more color, at the moment it is mostly red, white, and blue. Any suggestions?


I am quite happy with the energy swirling around his feet.

I think the staff of the mage is very nicely done, but maybe you could do a little more blending/layering with the cloak? The contrast between the recesses and the billowing folds of the cloak do seem a little stark. Nevertheless, a good job all round.

I see what you mean about the cape, I have been considering going back over it with white, then giving it a bluish wash, then slowly layering white back on.

Quick question for you guys: My Birthday is coming up soon, and i am trying to decide what to ask for: I am greedily looking at the full set of Isalnd of Blood Skaven, which I have found on eBay for $40, from multiple sellers. Or, I could get a box of river trolls for my WHF orc army( which I have been meaning to photograph and put up here soon, though be prepped for some not-so good paint jobs, it was my 1st army
). Or, I could buy myself 2-3 Tau Battlesuits. What do you guys think?

I've got a soft spot for greenskins, and I quite like the GW River Trolls models, so I'd go for that. However, it is your birthday, and you should make the final decision on what you like.
