    Re: Bike squadron volunteers

I know I havent posted for a while on this matter so I thought id better say something so no-one thinks ive abandoned the cause!

I am still definately going to be building a biker armed with a melta gun. When is another question as I am short of painting time currently. But seeing as there is no deadline I dont consider this as a problem.

On the issue of 4th company markings, id rather use IV on the kneepad than having yellow/whatever colour shoulder pad trims because I think this will look better. That is my opinion obviously and I dont want to go dictating how we can and cant do our bikes. Hell I already made the colour scheme Whats everyone elses opinion?

Oh and welcome to the squad grey painter (assuming your in?)

    Re: Bike squadron volunteers

I'm not in no unfortunatly. I'd prefer to keep my vet serg in the 3rd company since I've already bought that model especially.

My offer still stands for anyone who wants to paint a biker but doesn't own a model. I'll ship anywhere

Welcome to the 4th Company everyone (no one told me I found out by accident when I read Blacksmith's last post).

Have you all officially signed up to the 4th Company yet?

I agree about the Company markings being on the kneepad.

One question, are you planning marines with or without their helmets on?

I'm doing my biker up without one.

The only way to show my sexy hair in GS.

Beards and long hair always look good on biker marines.

My Ravenwing are done this way (well they have to LOOK like bikers, don't they? )

Mine is helmetless and bald, but I might GS some hair on.

We're keeping everything the same as we planned except that there will be a IV on the left kneepad.

    Hi Guys,
I'm stuck at work waiting for a lift home so I started drawing up a cleaner version of your paint scheme and wanted to make sure everything else was the way you want it before I added the flames. Let me know if I have got anything the wrong colour.

edit: changed upholstery as per Yorkiebars instructions.

Thanks man. That seems to be about what we're aiming for, although I don't like the brown seat. A deep red might be better, one like this chair:

    Right, finished.
Having just done the flames on the bike in photoshop it is my considered opinion that you guys are nuts.

Fantastic rework of the colour scheme. Makes it much clearer to understand, thanks. The only mad part of me is the part that thought it could 1) build a bike, I hate building them! 2) thought it could paint something non-ironwarryory to any degree of detail or showing any degree of skill 3) thought I would have spare any time whatsoever this side of 2010 to do anything loosely related to 40k. Apart form that, tooootaly normal

I'm sure your battle brothers in the 5th company would be only too happy to give helpful pointers and suggestions for painting and modelling your biker blacksmith.

Tip #1: paint the wheels before you assemble anything else.

The front wheelguard should be entirely blue.

I thought it was decided that this was the colour scheme.

This was the scheme I put up, the basic codex scheme if you like.

The flames should be considered as a personalisation or some kind of honourific.

I'm now getting jealous of TWB

    Where's MY seal of approval?

Then again, I'd prefer the Bikes to look like this:

You get one when you can tell me to how to fit 'Wintermute' in a space 40 pixels across without giving me a nervous breakdown.
I think the bikers had already painted the trim blue long before I stuck my nose where it wasn't wanted.
