In prep for 'Ard Boyz, I went pack to painting some marines.
Here's my scratch-built Land Speeder Storm which I built in about an hour.
And then the Scout crew being transported!

Looking real good man! Hey are you going to play in the 'Ard Boyz?
Wow,far between updates here
I guess I missed the last two but the Rhino (feb) and Tactical Squad (may) are looking good. These scouts & speeder are better still. Good faces and nice camo on the capes. The blueish white pants are coming out very nicely.
Good scratchbuild on the Storm too!

Thanks guys!
@Kish- aye, I'm going to 'Ard boyz. I'm still ironing out a few kinks in my list but I got a massacre result last night against another 'Ard boyz list so I'm feeling pretty good right now
@Solun- What are you talking about, I update weekly!Yeah, I have on and off bursts of activity. Biggest problem is being distracted by the Valhallan army I recently picked up

Another infrequent update (at least it's in the same month, right?) Well I picked up the new Kor'Sarro Khan model (absolutely LOVE the thing) and decided to try a technique I've never done before: NMM armor. And not the Silver/Bronze/Gold NMM armor, I mean purple shiny armor. A daunting task for someone who has no background in art or anything besides line-highlighting. I finished up the arms (sorta) and am very happy with the way they turned out. Hopefully they look good on the rest of the mini!

Whack-tacular. Nice model man, hey you and Alex should come some time to open gaming with me since you didn't play 'Ard Boyz.
Finished up my Ironclad (I name him Thor. Long story but involves me listening to "Twilight of the Thunder God" by Amon Amarth). I tried two new things to some success... first, I tried to bled the purple on the armor in the same vein as the Salamander Ironclad on the GW website. The other thing was that I only did NMM on the model's metallic part. I've done this before (a model having no metal paints used) but never to a scale this large. Usually it was confined to guardsmen (my Commissar that made it to the Chicago Golden Demon Finals being a good example). In the end, while the effects are certainly not perfect, I am incredibly happy with the way everything turned out. If I had to pick my favorite parts of the model, it would have to be the searchlight, the leg armor, the skull/cross thing on the left armor plate and the purity seal. Anyways, onto the pictures...
Pics continued...

Wicked! Sword is a little on the dark side, but the NMM, Highlights, and Blending is wonderful.
Thanks kish!
So these pieces of plastic...err...soldiers of man have been sitting in my army case for about 9 months now. This is their second repaint, so they're not the best thing I've ever painted. In fact, they're pretty terrible. The only thing that brightens them up a bit from looking like utter crap are the purity seals and eyes, honestly. Well, here they are..
