    No! It can't be true!!!

Worst news ever, in my opinion.

I don't believe this! The first was bad enough, they should just leave it alone!

Am I the only one that found the first movie entertaining?

    Yes. Yes you are.
Except for that bit where the Pred jumps the queen at the end, it was utter pap.
And to be honest, that scene was only mildly better.

No, I thought it was cool. Could have been better, but was miles ahead of some other crap I've been forced to endure.

Entertaining, yes. Sadly I was *hoping* for something more than just *entertaining*. Perhaps combining the best of the original Alien (terror) with the best of Predator (action laced with a bit of deadpan humour).

Sadly it was neither. Just a summer popcorn movie, which (to be honest) was all I expected.

Agreed. It was better than Captain America. <gack>

Too bad the cute blonde died so quick.

Re: No! It can't be true!!!

Oh noes! More perfected horror turned cruddy action movie! The first one had so much potential but instead was twisted by he who shall not be named into a second rate action flick. Freddy vs Jason was awsome because it stayed true to the genre, B grade horror that you can watch over and over again and still think pure pwnage. AvP unfortunately was neither the dark noir horror film of a bleak future, nor was it a witty A grade action film. Methinks they may chuck in a third critter like they planned with Freddy vs Jason 2 and since its going to be set on Earth (cheap alternative to dark gritty planet), i guess its going to be around the 20th/21st century.

Wait Wait, i can see it now Alien Vs Pred vs Rambo!

I bet its the evils or the corperate west.
You watch, it'll be the evils of the corperate west that takes on Aliens and Predators.

Movies: if a first movie is popular, make a sequel and make another if the sequel is a hit. That's how it went with every single trilogy (some were good and some sucked and this don't look so good). I think it'll be bad. I liked the cg, and the predators are so badass, but they died too easily in the movie. It wasn't very good but it was fun to watch the toss zealot kill the big zerg dude.

Re: No! It can't be true!!!

The first one was entertaining and easy to watch. Of course it was gack. It wasn't meant to (At least, I hope it wasn't) be a prime horror movie, just a Freddy Vs. Jason type fan boy fight fest.

Drokk no. Make another Serenity, I say.
Pride is not a sin. Hubris is not a failing. The galaxy is not a mere collection of stars, it is our birthright! For too long have men looked up the infinite expanses of darkness before them and looked back inward, seeking solance in their huddled, weak soulfires. I see the black depths before me and all I can see is an eternity of war and conquest in the Emperor's name.

Joss Whedon has two more films planned.

So after this, I'm now just waiting for Alien vs Predator vs The Rock vs Vin Disel

One step closer to my dream movie called "Alien vs. Predator vs. T-Rex vs. Terminator vs. Jackie Chan vs. Nosferatu".

    Jackie Chan wins.

What a load of guff. I refuse to watch this film out of principle. AvP has to be the biggest waste of good film license I have ever watched. I even enjoyed Spawn more than AvP.

If Joss makes it, I'll watch it. I wasn't looking forward to Wonder Woman until Joss was attached to it.

Heck, when I win the lottery, I'll finance any film Joss wants to make. HEAR THAT JOSS?

Re: No! It can't be true!!!

I'm just going to reserve my right to reserve my right to bitch and moan if it sucks. I figure I'll due this anyway since almost all the sequals that have ever been made have sucked. There are exceptions, but I guess I can only hope that the AvP Directors Cut brings the franchise back to where it can be.

BTW - If they redid AvP without any dialogue, would it improve the movie? Or even AvP 2 for that matter? Hmm...

Re: No! It can't be true!!!

i enjoy the first AvP movie, it's sucks balls compared to the comic, but it was ok for something to watch. i'm more concerned with the statement "we'll definately make another one of those". just once can't they say, "yeah, we've got some great scripts and a lot of talented people interested, it's going to be huge!". but no.
