when you did the truescaling, did you add any bulk to the torso? and do you happen to have a tutorial on the process? Any help would be very appreciated, as all your stuff is so great.

If all else fails, a swift kick to the nuts is one hell of a way to solve anything... (CommissarTanith)
no... i just added a 2mm spacer to the shin and then covered up the hole and added an ablative greave to the front of the leg armour, kind of like terminator leg armour but without the struts on the back. thats it really
Good stuff..lets see some paint on those units
Really like your colourscheme there. I've been trying a similar scheme for my angels, white marble with verdigris bronze detailing on the eagles and shoulderpad binding etc (for that whole ancient statue type look). Although, I've not been getting the marble effect quite right. Might have to borrow your method there.
Very nice army so far! Care to tell us how you did the blue/green? You might have already poasetd it and I could have missed it though...

I'm painting some Eldar again!

so.... here i am after an absence of what seems three years! Lol. the modelling bug has bitten again and here i am, emerging from my lair into the stark light of Warseer, with the exploits of sticky fingers (easy, im talking about greenstuff and glue), where funnily coloured putty is applied to plastic models in the hope of creating a funky-looking model.
back from a 3 year hiatus are the Angels of Censure, friends of the =][= and all-round hard-asses. All i have painted up are 10 veterans, half a drop-pod and now, closer to completion, these terminators:
still need some slight GS work on the feet, the left hand on the 4th guy in the pic and some small gap-filling, and theyre ready to paint. they will be painted the same as the company champion that is featured earlier on in the blog, though im thinking of adding some more of the green into the armour though im not sure exactly where yet. ideas please
more pics can be found by following the link in my sig (as well as various other projects... none of which have started yet)
Brilliant work on the marble effect. You have a nice, unique looking force there.
Stuff I'm working on:
40k - Pre Badab Astral Claws - Hive Fleet Phobos - *New* Imperial Fists Heresy Era
Fantasy - One nation under Hashut
Synapse is in revs 'always one to watch' category. Great looking marines!
Thanks for the marble tute.

I like them!

Brilliant terminators and as many people have said, the marble has clearly been painted with pure awesome!
Any chance of some close ups/different angles on the terminator sgt? I'm interested in how you've attached the parchment carrying servo-skulls. Cheers!
thanks![]()
well the skull were pinned in place with a tiny sewing needle (the hole was hell to drill - i broke two .05mm drill bits when using the pin vice). other than that theyre glued in place with polystyrene cement - which would have been enough to hold themtogether though probably not best for weathering the rigours of painting/gaming. ill take some pics of the backs when im back home
I've seen some custom colour schemes where the secondary colour is mostly on the arms and upper leg areas, with primary colour on everything else. If you want to add more green you could try that.
i was thinking of the shoulder pads though tbh i think theyre the nicest area to paint bone and dont want to pass upthe opportunity to do the veined marble on the shoulder pads. im thinking the ridges on the shoulders and other details on the armour (like the crux terminatus) will be in verdigris-bronze (so lots of green shading there) and sopme small armour details in green. obviously robes and scrolls etc will be browish. ill post some pics of the normal marines soon to give an example of what i mean
Great models and excellent painting to go with them! I'm looking forward to more, can't wait to see painted termies.

If everybody knows that nobody expects the Inquisition, is it really that unexpected when the Inquisition is found exactly where nobody expected to find them...
Check out my Angels Encarmine Project Log! Now with some Inquisition and Aeronautica Imperialis too!
How do you do that marble mate? It's freaking awesome; I kinda want to steal it.
here you go (from page 2):
i think the grading in the washes is what makes the biggest difference, start with a controlled wash with the sepia, then once thats dry devlan mud, covering less area, and finally a watered down badab black really focusing on the recesses; all the time applying it more as a glaze than a wash
I love the marble and the over all feel of the force. You have some great positioning and flow to your units and I think your true-scaling looks boss. That being said I don't know if your teal is "emerald" but I know what your going for and I think that the current colour would actually look better overall.
I will be stealing the marble for my DYI chapter based off the Blood Angels... or perhaps the Grey Knights, well whatever I decide they will be Marble! Haha!
Keep up the good work!

so here's a pic of the terminator sergeants' rear
you can see where the servo skulls are attached and more details on the cloak, which isnt glued in place and is just clipped into position which explains the gaps.
and some (not very good, admittedley) pics of the first squad i painted up:
standard-bearer:
As always, my banner end up being unpainted as i can never decide what to do (either that or i dont think im good enough to pull off the idea i have in mind - which is probably the case in this model). i wanted to paint an epic scene of a winged robed angel spearing a great winged serpent (representing chaos), though only got as far as concept drawings i cant find anymore, lol!
Company champion and chaplain:
this pic shows of the marble to best effect, as well as the shield idea i came up with for the greaves on the champion (which i replicated on the army commander - the terminator leader with the servo skulls)
