I have to agree with AndyG, great looking Imperial Fists. Yellow is a difficult color, but you did it on an impressive level.

Well I'll be moving to Austin soon for my job. The minis were the first to be packed, but as my girlfriend will be living up in Dallas for the next year or so, I'll have plenty of time to ratchet up things when I get unpacked. Expect large chunks of progress in a few weeks.![]()

Good luck with your move to Capital City!
You're Fists inspired me to start working on mine as well after a multi-year hiatus. I need to see more of your conversions for blatant copying, err... inspiration for my own honor guard!

I'm back. After moving, getting engaged and planning on moving back I've settled in for now and in my spare time will be painting. And playing video games. And working out.
Suffice to say, there will be progress!
In my entire day off, I unpacked everything (finally), watched an entire season of Nip/Tuck and painted two of the shoulder pads for my Deathwatch. Hurrah!
The detail on the Raven Guard is much crisper than that on the Red Scorpion one... alas. they must suffice.
Stay posted.

Congrats on the engagement, and I hope you are having fun with all the moving!
The shoulder pads look nice and I see what you mean about the details, the legs on kind of come too close on the RS sculpt.
the honour gaurd looks stunning fella, nice use of the helmets from Calgar's boys.

Minor work on the Deathwatch.
I'm almost done with the first, the Space Wolf.
He still needs highlighting, so this is all flats but I'm very pleased, especially with having taken so much time off.
I wasn't a huge fan of the metal SW shoulder pad. It shows its age, it's not very crisp and is a bitch to paint with foundations. Ah well, it gets the job done.
And the Deathwatch pad. Damned if that little bionic eye isn't tiny!![]()
I do need a new micron pen before I do any more purity seals....
Anyway, I'm happy. I think I shall finish him and do a lot of the Raven Guard guy next. I like his shoulder pad!

No love? From anyone? Is it because they're not suitable impressive or because they're not yellow?
In all honesty, sharing this stuff does make me want to do more, but not thinking that anyone is watching is a little disheartening. Come on, if you look, please show a little love.
Thanks!
I have [almost] completed the first three members of the Deathwatch. I just need a new micron-pen for the script and some minor black lining and I'm done.
I used Adeptus Battlegrey for a very subtle highlight, to the same level of contrast as my yellow on the Fists. I prefer it to the super sharp highlights, especially on black. While I like it on my Grey Knights, I just like the more subdued tone here. No offense to those than love the contrast, I've seen it done spectacularly well, it's just not for me. :-)
First, there is the Raven Guard, who I'm most happy with of the three of them. The reason for his apothecary bottles? Science. Raven Guard have always struck me as a bit into research.
Then the Space Wolf, whose shoulder pad shows its age very quickly. Raised detail it not always good detail.
And finally, the Red Scorpion, who I quite like.
The white chest detail will be an ongoing theme where it can be incorporated, I think it stands out and contrasts very well, and the red weapons really pop. I'm very happy overall with them.
Of course, the obligatory group shot and a shot of the shoulder pads.
So - What say you, brothers?

I like them.
Make me want to get cracking on my desert themed deathwing list. Just afraid that when I start painting them they will fail haha.
Deathwatch are looking pretty sweet fella, nice work.
They look OK, but I think you could flesh them out a bit. You know, more kit, even more dynamic poses. They're supposed to be the heroes of heroes and stuff like that...![]()

I think they look great, and, having seen them, am now tempted to make up some Sternguard as Deathwatch.
There is on lsight quibble though, and it's in the final picture. It look's like they're doing the conga!![]()
Nice Deathwatch. I used to have loads of these guys. The chapter shoulders are v well done.
If you like what I've said please return the favour

Ladies and gentleman, a quick update.
This is the Chapterhouse Studios Howling Griffon shoulder pad.
It. Is. Exquisite.
The detail is phenomenal. If I'd have had this before I started the Fists, they'd be quartered and sprayed!
I also love the squareness of the quarters. I was tempted to go all yellow or all red, given HG colour scheme but IA9 came to the rescue with the night-world Howling Griffons. Since the armour IS all black, I figured he'd like to keep his true panoply on display.![]()

This is a great plog. I hope you don't mind me saying so but thing I love most is that you can see how you've improved from the beginning faltering steps!
Your Imperial Fists are great it's been a pleasure to read. Thanks, a fat 5 from me.
looking beautiful, the howling griffon pad is truely stunning. if i may be so bold; i request of you a squad photo of the Death Watch
