Ive been watching your army grow since 2008. But i was always too lazy to sign up for warseer. but truely you are very talented and i always look forward to seeing you new models. Also i was wondering abouit your honor guard, how much of a pain was it to mold the heads and would you consider molding some more and selling them? I have done imperial fist for just as long as you have and i find them the best chapter. You have inspired me to post mine as well but i cant say i like them to the extent i like yours. -gearhart-

    Thank you very much!

My new apartment is a bit of a hinderance to taking pics and I'll be taking some pictures later on today.

As to the resin Honour Guard heads - I'm not in a positive to any resin casting right now (said apartment) and I'd rather not GW legal come down on me. I've contributed to a couple of Codexes (one very heavily, a couple more very lightly) so I like maintaining good relations with them.

Nowdays I'd probably use the ForgeWorld Brass-Etch eagles and a Mk IV helmet to create the helmets, which would get a similar effect.

It really wasn't too hard though. The hardest part was getting them off the honour guard models in the first place....

haha very true, you wouldnt want to get on the wrong side of them. who knows i might just give it a try. That is if i actually ever finish my army. i have a huge list of models, ive always enjoyed apocalypse so ive built an apocalypse style army. But i hope to show you some of my models to see if you like my style as well. Although as yours have a darker aspect mine are reletively bright. Ive also decided to go about and have two seperate companies in one apocalypse army.

Did you ever finish your Vladimir, brother?

    Re: Engel's Imperial Fists Blog

Vladimir Pugh will be the absolute final Imperial Fists miniature I paint (until I buy something else new that piques my interest so he's on hold for now)

    Petay, Gearhart, pictures at last!

Group shot of the Deathwatch I've already finished:

    The Howling Griffon -

    The Ultramarine -

    The Iron Snake -

    A few more:

The Blood Angel still needs a bit of green stuff in his wrist, but I'm very pleased with his shoulder pad -

    The Blackshield -

The Angel of Absolution (decal to be applied later) -

The Captain - Still WIP. He was going be a Lamenter, but now I think the black and white will be too much of the same, so I'm looking for a really striking, unique Chapter to make him, preferable with a bright colour, to contrast. Thoughts?

That's all for now folks. The next update will include a proper Imperial Fist. I promise.

Haha alas! They look great now I'm still new to deathwatch was it just by choice you decided to do different chapters? Have you thought White scars or storm lords even possibly blood ravens?

The Captain would be an ideal Howling Griffon, if colour is what you want. As there's already one in the squad, however... Crimson Fist or Brazen Talon perhaps?

Deathwatch Kill Teams are drawn from different Chapters. These Marines are chosen because they are very, very good at killing aliens. They're seconded, and length of time varies.

White Scars are a possibility, as are Storm Lords (see below) and Blood Ravens is definitely worth giving a shot.

Not a bad idea. Alas, my freehand isn't quite that good.

Crimson Fist might not be a bad idea. I could always pry the Howling Griffon pad off and move it over... Probably not a bad idea either.

I will mull this over the weekend.

Well I promised Fists and you shall have Fists.

Another member of the Honour Guard is almost ready - I worked on his arm and shoulder pad today. The white and black-rimmed shoulder pads for the command company are working really well. I'm very happy with them, though I need to figure something out with the one completed member I've done, who has no rim... Hmm.

    Anyway -

    A Fist!

I'm quite pleased with how the cape worked out. I was worried considering out many folds there are.

And the sword I'm going with. I like the "I'm not done fighting yet. Run away if you know what's good for you" look he gives off.

Nice work all round, the deathwatch are shaping up nicely! That IF Captain is looking quite badass with that pose.

If it's not too late I think Sons of Medusa would be a nice colourful scheme to try for your DW captain's shoulderpad.

You're not the first person to bring that up. It's looking quite likely. I'm also contemplating moving the Howing Griffon shoulder pad to the Captain, and then making the running guy into the Son of Medusa.

Hmm… Is there a Sons of Medusa decal somewhere I can pilfer? I can see the workaround for it but round decals are still hell (even after all those IF ones!)

Very nice Deathwatch and I think that Honour guard is my favourite mini you've done. He looks badass!

Brief Deathwatch update. I was busy getting engaged for real.

Going Sons of Medusa! Another round decal... ugh. Still, I like the green offset.

A very non-bionic Sons of Medusa Captain. (Maybe he's just been in the Deathwatch so long he's less influenced by the whole 'flesh is weak' thing than his brothers) which I'm almost done with the Chapter symbol on.

Still, the coming weeks are going to be busy so updates might be a bit spotty (again).

I did finish my Honour Guard model! Wee!

This pose worked out really well.

I'm really pleased with how the black on this cloak worked out.

I noticed while reading "Age of Darkness" ('The Last Remembrancer,' specifically) Dorn wears a black cloak, lined in red, with white designs on the back, needless to say, I think someone's been peering at my blog. I love how it comes across and Pugh will certainly have those white designs.
