We’re pleased to announce the latest details and info for the DaBoyz Grand Tournament. This is the sixth year in a row we are running the event.

The 2011 DaBoyz GT will be held October 21, 22, and 23, 2011. This will be a three day event, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The 2011 DaBoyz GT is being held at:
Main Street Armory, 900 Main Street Armory. Rochester, NY

It is located in downtown Rochester close to several hotels and restaurants. The Armory itself is over 10,000 Sq. Ft. Space that includes its own restaurant. The armory will also have a cash bar and vending stand with a buffet to sell food throughout the weekend.


The Event
The event features a two-day, 6 games, 120-player Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament. This will take place on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be Warhammer Fantasy Independent Tournament. Both tournaments are part of the National Tournament and will be given invites from Games Workshop for the Nationals in 2012. The National tournament will be held at the end of the Indy GT season.
Also on Friday this year, we will be running an America Team Event.
Other great events and features include:
• A food and cash bar will be available in the gaming hall. A full service restaurant is also located inside the same building.
• Shuttle service to and from local hotels and the Rochester airport.
• Large Apocalypse event.
• Great prizes, cool swag, and t-shirts

• Vendors area

The concept for Horisont (transl. Horizon) has been a miniatures convention, as we know it from other countries (other than Denmark that is...). The idea is not to play in a tournament but rather to try out all sorts of "alternative" games during the convention. Our hope is that this will spread the enthusiasm for the smaller games in Denmark (and abroad), so that all of our miniature experiences can be broadened - hence the name "Horizon".
The convention is based on voluntary work; both from the organizers and from all the exhibitors we hope will come.

We see this as a centre for bringing together those of us who wish to play more than just the set tournament games; those of us who fiddle with strange Victorian Deathmachines in our basements and to meet all the others who frequent Powerfist.dk and other fora around the internet. Although focus is on the smaller games, the well-established games are also more than welcome by showing alternative scenarios deviating from the standard tournament.

Horisont is the opportunity to see what lies around the corner and what people are working on at home in the clubs, living rooms and where else we spread our enthusiasm for our hobby (to the joy or dismay of those around us). You can expect two days filled with miniatures af all kinds along with the opportunity to meet and socialize with others who share your passion.

It is especially recommended for clubs to attend. They can come and show off some of the things they have to offer, and to show a bit off in front of other clubs - a little friendly rivalry never hurt anyone after all.

Even though focus is the Demo- and Show-games we wish to have "hygge" firmly in the spotlight. If you wish, you are more than welcome to bring along your own (painted) miniatures and finally get that old grudge-match settled in the free games area. Another option is to bring along some of your not-so-painted miniatures and take use of the attending painting pro's.

In the end it is our vision to make Horisont a yearly event which we all can look forward to.

Details: Still reeling from his destruction at the hands of Sigmar and confined to an ethereal form, Nagash's spirit returned to Cripple Peak to slowly regain his strength. Nagash knew that only with the six artefacts of power he created, including his Crown of Sorcery, could he be truly restored to his power. Rather than lead a renewed attack on the empires of man, Nagash used the centuries to set in motion a plan that would bring his enemies to the Lands of the Dead and in doing so bring the artefacts he so dearly sought within his grasp.

Slowly but inexorably, the presence of Nagash's spirit corrupted the lands around Cripple Peak further and evil creatures once more flocked to his lair, drawn by his unwholesome presence. Such gatherings could not go unnoticed forever and soon tales came to the ears of the Sultan Jaffar that a great evil now dwelt once more in the Desolation around Cripple Peak...

The Wrath of Nagash is a campaign weekend for Warhammer. Players will require a 2250 point army and several different sized army lists to play a mix of exciting battles and skirmishes. Full details can be found in the campaign pack, available to download from the Tempus Fugitives website.

Tickets: Tickets cost £50 and include six games over the weekend as well as lunch on both days and an evening meal on the Saturday night.

For anyone with access to Tamworth, our club runs 3 tournaments a year (40k, WHFB, FoW), over 3/4 month periods. You'd need to be local to attend as the rounds are spread across this period and sometimes games need to be rescheduled.

If the desire to sleep becomes overwhelming, there will be sleeping accomodations provided at the local Sønderrisskole (the school across the street) - even if you are partially passed out with e.g. lack of sleep, you should be able to find your bed. We have the school's heated classrooms at our disposal, so remember to bring sleeping bag and bedroll!

Painting Competition: The Golden Fish

Entries will be on display during the whole of Saturday and our competent judge, helped along by popular vote, will decide the overall winners of the categories.

A glorious trophy will be received by the talented individuals.

There will be three main categories:

* Single Historical Miniature

* Single Science-fantasy Miniature

* Diorama

There's one fish to be won in each category.

Diorama Category: The Diorama must be no larger than 25cmx25cmx25cm. It is the opinion of the Judge that if you can't contain your diorama on this surface you're on a deroute.Larger compositions often wind up clumsy. Other than that you're completely free.

Single Historical Category:
The entries in the historical miniatures category will be judged by the quality of the painting job and the technical skill displayed. Not so much the historical accuracy.
As Horisont is a miniatures gaming convention only miniatures that are actual gaming miniatures can be entered into the category. As such 56mm Andrea Miniatures as an example are not eligible to enter.
The size cap is up to and not including 56mm miniatures

Single Fantasy/Sci-fi Category: Troll/ogre sized minis are OK in this category but like for the historics only minis below 56mm scale are eligible. Other than that

This is the 5th event run by the TF set in the hazy days of the 31st Milennium. Replay battles during the Heresy era from the Great Crusade to the Scouring and all in between. Witness humanities greatest sons the Primarchs go to battle, turn a bit traitory and have a big civil war.
A whole pack dedicated to this era has been developed over much time. Get to play with Constantine Valdor and his Custodes, 20 man Legion Assault Squads, Mk 2-5 Power Armour and have fun with Rotary Lascannons.
Failing that, take some Xenos forces and nibble away at the crumbling imperium/face them in their Crusade and prevent the Emperor taking over the Galaxy.
