And now, yet another update for the now nearing completion 3rd company of the astral swords.
First, the bling stage has been completed on the second devastator squad, viewable here. Note the oldschool reinforced greaves on the back mounted launcher guy and the pre-heresy bolter on the sergeant.

Secondly, two new squads join the ranks awaiting the great blackening (ie. Spraypaint)
Squad 5: fairly happy with these guys. Note the two bulpup style bolters on some of the marines at the front, these look great but are a pain to get marines to carry- most of their inner forearm was sacrificed they fitted in :P

Squad 6: YAY! Last squad done for the company! I really love the guy doing some kung-fu knife-fighting stuff. The twin plasma pistols count as a plasma gun and I did a funky bolt-carbine conversion with a meltagun that unfortunately is blocked out of sight by knife-man’s bling :P. Lastly, check out the ooooold plasma pistol on the sergeant

Now for the Cathayans. These guys are the first models for the warclad regiment which will be armed with a mix of longswords, flails and halberds to allow use of the unit with any of them in games and also to save money for the photoshoots.
Left to right: warclad with flail, warborn with light armor and cathayan longsword, warlcad with halberd

I’m particularly happy with the champion, looks sweet (that beard took forever :P)

And a shot of champion plus the rest of the models for a view of a unit armed entirely with flails. Note that when finished, some of the flails will have wooden sticks on the end instead of threshing hooks:
