Converted krieg army!

hej guys i'm starting a portfolio and a krieg army as i have found a lot of free time come to my hands.(no more school)
i will be posting pictures of both and will try to update frequently.

i have no experience with putting foto's on internet so i may have some problems there.

other than that enjoy.

here is my first (test) krieg soldier.
i left of the arms so i could get a good view of how to paint him.

i really tried to get an overall realistic effect on this guy.
i tried to make him as gloomy as possible using shadow here and there.
also i tried using earth tones only with an occasional contrast color(the shiny black and the grey backpack)
this model was great for me to paint as it enabled me to let loose with everything i got because it was so detailed.

tough the poor guy went trough hell to get this far.
i cleaned him off with thinner before i got this scheme.
it works pretty wel with a que tip and a bit of the stuff.
it doens't corrode the resin and removes all paint.
you will have to clean youre model again after that and ofcourse use gloves and a face maks because its as chemical as santa's hot pants.


i might add arms soon in the form of a converted held up high lasgun and a pointing arm.
tough i'm not sure what glue will do when i put it onto the paint.
any ideas on this one guys?

This is just some random pictures i'd like you to see
for youre entertainement ofcourse.

its a warrior priests armor.this guys all about the metal i tried a special red glow effect for armor of meteoric iron and i think it came out pretty nice.

a empire spearman(army style painted)
this was a way to quickly and nicely paint an army for the empire.
:note the heavy drybrushing teqnique on the legs and arms is outdated to me now as i have discovered shading(o how i love shading)


i did these a year before my krieg soldier but i still like them anyway.

soon i will post pictures of a 10 man kriegenier squad with some conversions here and there(if not everywhere)

also i will be making a large board witch will act as a huge diorama with krieg vs(either vostoyans of valhallans) the board will be a forest with trenches and bunkers dugg trough it.
i'm still looking for good references as to bunker and trench terrain so if anyone has any that would be much apreciated.

i might do the cliff level from call of duty world at war but in a ardennian theme.

the krieg squad will be lovingly painted and in my hands that takes time(i'm not really a speed painter)
but nevertheless keep youre eyes peeled for some gas masked trenchers anytime:P

on the contrary(don't know if i spelled that right)
it would be germans vs russians as i'm planning on only including mildly realistic figures(no heavy bolters,plasma,melta weapons etc etc)

mostly lasguns,grenade launchers and flamers for the infantry
and only artillery here and there and maybe a centaur artillery carrier.

so all in all a kind of 40k ww1 witch i think is a fun project to do along with the board.

Arh, I see where you are going now, you might struggle to get vostoyans or valhallans, as I know us stockists can't get them anymore.

Are they on the GW site?

Are you going to use the trenches and bunkers from FW?

well i have a budddy with some 50 vostroyans.
but the other idea was to finish of the krieg first and maybe by then(knowing my rate of painting) the new plastic greatcoats will be out.

either that or ill be converting vossies for a while.


i'm not sure i might try some fw terrain stuff.
first i'll see what i can do by hand.

ive got some neat ideas for trenches and bunkers.
but most of the terrain will be hillscape.

check the call of duty world at war cliffside level for an idea on how i'm going to do it.

Coming on nicely, great colours.

NOTE:

If after washing resin models you still have a bunch that has that release it, then the best way is to coat the model in a VERY thin layer of spray varnish. After that has dried you can the spray undercoat and continue.

hey guys me again.
so ive started on the first project.
a small diorama of two guardsmen hiding behind cover.

guardsman no#1 is leaning out from behind the rock to have a survey of the battlefield, then all of a sudden a machine gun opens up on his position .
luckily for him his friend(guardsman number 2 is speedy to react and pulls his friend back just in time to save him from the bullets.

so my big diorama board will be full of such tiny diorama's ranging from mass charges failing due to a bombard shell to small things like a lone soldier trying to hold close a lost bunker door while the enemy tries to get in.

ill have all kinds of little stories to go with every diorama.
and ill be posting ideas frequently.

i hope to get this put together next week as i'm off to amsterdam this weekend.

but after that ill get started on my log again

hey guys, well ive started on my project.
and ive come up with two models that look a lot like the drawing a made(see earlier post)

these foto's are of guardsman number one and two
note that on guardsman number one(the one with the hand behind his back)
his hand is sculpted on.

note on number 2(the one with the outstreched hand)
the converted lasgun witch i modelled like a stengun.
and the arm that has been made to point more outwards

all in all i think they look alright and its the first step on the way to the big diorama.

in this second post i have positioned the two guardsmen(who shall be named once done!) in roughly the pose i want when i get the diorama done.

number one is peeking around the corner while number 2 is attempting to warm him of the impacting bullets and pull him back.

i have to add drama to the scene when i model a rock with bullet impacts and barbed wire on the floor that is made up of muddy mud(for lack of a better word)
