    Re: KaldCB's paint log

    Hi there.

As my Deathwing is packed away for the moment, i can't take any pictures of it, but im sure it's not that long until i pick them up again ; )

I have not painted much lately, but i just finished my valkyrie, and have started on some more guard models, so maybe it will start too get more updates here now.

    Tell me what you think!

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

    Thank you.

That is correct, i won the Invasion with that army, you where playing fantasy?

I have a small update, I have finished my test model for my drop veterans.
as I'm planing on getting around 40 veterans, and 4 vendettas extra, and I want to make them stand a little out from the rest of my infantry.

I would love some feedback on him.

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

As I have been looking at my very ugly painted Tau army for some time now, I have decided that it's time they get some proper paint.

I "painted" this Tau army some years ago in 2-3 days before a tournament. And i will not lie, they are as bad as it can get, only have like 2 colors on them.

Here are some pictures of my Tau. (the shame)

As I want a camo pattern on my Tau vehicles and suits I have made this test on a Hammerhead.

I would really like some feedback on this model, as it's my first time painting camo and I'm not sure if i have got it right.

Hoping to get some feedback before I paint more of them.

    Ok...

I think the pattern looks really good, but im not sure about the actual colours.

The lightest green is really patchy in parts.

Also... i think a bit more texture or detail could be added to parts.

Lets not take away from it though... its a really good set up and think.

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

    Thanks!

I'm glad the camo pattern looks good.

As for the colors, I'm using dark angels green, snot green and catachan green now. Do you know other color combination that may work better for green camo?

I can see that the snot green could use some longer strokes that would blend better with the rest of the colors, will try that with next model.

As for details i have not finished them yet, will get some lights and other details done, i just wanted the camo to be right first.

As always more feedback is appreciated

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

I tried using some dark metal instead of black on the parts that are not camo on a devilfish

I was wondering if it looks better in metal then black?

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

Have made some progress on my tau.

Have painted a suit with camo, and 6 firewarriors without camo just using the same colors.

    How does it look?

You may have a lot of projects but they see a lot of paint! I'm amazed by the amount of painted armies you have. Liking your Deathwing in particular! How do you run them?

    Re: KaldCB's paint log

I'm starting to get several armies painted, which is not bad, as i have lotr, gothic, warmachine and other models i do paint also.
the last times I have played with Deathwing I have tried the lots of footslogging approach. the new FAQ have helped a great deal!

Have some update on the new Deathwing command squad and Belial model.

More wip pictures, but they are now almost complete.

Nice job mate, some really subtle conversions that work really well. Also your bone armour is fantastic!
