    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

@ Metal Fingered Villain, Elazar, Death Korp, Edahlo:
Thank you all! I hope you enjoy what I've got in store for my army. I will paint as much as I can this week and update again on either Wednesday or Thursay. (I'm leaving on vacation for 2 weeks on Thursday, and won't be able to paint anything in that time ) Don't worry, though, I plan to jump right back into this project when I get back!

    @ Metal Fingered Villain:
Regarding you starting fantasy, go for it! Heck, you can even make a plog and I'll check it out!

    @New Cult King:
I rather like Wulfrik's head, though I'm a bit confused over why they painted it green in the army book. But to answer your question, yes it is a separate bit.

And now for some list-related news:
My army list has been reworked again. This time, I'm excluding my Hero on Jugger ( he will be added again in 2k) I'm spending the extra points on light armor for my marauders, some upgrades for my sorceror including a Disc, and a Slaanesh sorceror with level 2, 2 dispell scrolls and a Steed of Slaanesh.

Well, that's about all. 'Til this Wednesday (or Thursday)!

nice work so far on the knights. finish them up!

and i agree, you need to use a different head for wulfrik. i used a spare metal chosen head(my army is mostly warrior-based not marauder based so he looks like he fits in better), but im sure you would use a marauder head since you have a lot of marauders.

looking forward to checking back on this WoC Plog

I laughed out loud when you showed the close up of the guy getting his head lobbed off. Easily one of the coolest conversions I've seen in a while. So tell me, do you have a regular empire opponent, or were those guys just lying around your bitz box?

I'm also happy to see you used the Warg Chieftan model in that unit of warhounds. I was hunting around for an alternate mount for one of my Gobtonnian heroes and found that one, but wasn't sure if it would fit well with chaos warhounds. Fortunately it does!

    Great stuff.

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

I'd first like to point out that, as I'm typing this, the first four logs are of warriors of chaos. Victory to the followers of the dark gods!

Anyway, I promised I'd paint a bit more before I left, and I did. Unfortunately, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday have all been very busy for me and I have not gotten a chance to paint until tonight. But I have done some painting, so here's what I've got:

I did a bit more work on my marauders.

And I just happened to have this deatail pic in my files so I figured, why not.

    Anyway, that's all for now.

@Neckkutter: Thx for reminding me about the knights. Yeah, I've actually finished up the details but right now I'm so tired I can't be bothered to take any pics of em. As for Wulfrik, I think I'll keep the head. Honestly, I like it.
And as for you looking forward to checking back, well, I look forward to reading your comments!

@Lord Dan: Well, thanks, mate! To answer your question, I actually bought a box of militia for this specific purpose. Also, thanks for noticing the warg, either people so far havn't noticed it or they for some reason havn't said anything. And carry on your log as well, I want to see more when I get back!

@Mr. Chair: Thanks! your marauders are lookin nice too!]

Anyway, I leave tonight for my vacation and won't be back for another 2 weeks. Don't worry, though, I plan to jump right on this project when I get back!

    Peace out
    -Sharke.

From deep in the bowels of the Fantasy project threads I have returned, to bring you my progress since the day I got back from vacation (yesterday was my first full day back home).

Anyway, I did get to work on my marauder horsemen a bit. Not the best picture, but here you go:

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

@Nicha: Thanks, I hope I can expect you back in the future!
@Aulbath:Heheh, nice of you to notice about the phoyography. I tried experimenting with settings, lighting etc, till eventually I decided "to hell with it" and just used the pics I had. The actual colors are a bit more muted and realistic, so I will endevour to bring you better pics in the future. And yes, I am doing the bases last

...Speaking of which, the pics always look rather shiny, I'm thinking of whether or not to put a layer of matte varnish on the models to dull them down a bit...

Anyway, my goal for this week is to finish this marauder unit, though I severely doubt that because as you get closer and closer to finishing, there appear so many small details to be done....
...Be that as it may, that is my primary goal. the second, of course, is to paint my hounds and the third is to get a start on Wulfrik's marauder buddies. Speaking of which:

heheh, a taste of what's yet to come, just so you're not bored .

    'Til next time

Really like your army so far, especially the end of unit marauder horsemen, imaginitive and cool looking, good job.
Also quite like your painting style and the red on the knights looks really well done, just a bit of constructice cristicsm here, i would give the red a Baal Red wash just to tie in the layers and highlights.
    Cheers
    Woody

P.S. looking forwards to seeing those marauders.

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

Hello again! After much waiting and working, I am back to show my progress to whomever of you may be viewing my thread at this time! (it refuses to die!)

    But first:
@ Woody -- thanks for commenting! Constructive crit is always appreciated here! I think, though, instead of doing a Ball Red wash I may simply do a little more blending with the Scab Red, the reason being that I wanted a sort of drab, realistic look to my army. Thanks for drawing my attention to that area, I'm always looking for ways to improve, and I hope you like my marauders!

    Now then...

So, first up, the horseman unit I've been workin' on for the past three weeks:

They're painfully near to completion at this point!

But I also figured it's high time I start working on my retinue for Wulfrik the wanderer:
The idea is that they have the mark of Nurgle and as such, they are rising out of a swamp (similar to conversions of undead rising from their graves). Also, it's a convenient way to represent Wulfrik's I-come-on-from-the-table-edge ability.

Below are the pics of the back, middle, and front rank of marauders:

I'm happy I was able to keep with the theme of "Death to the Empire" even in this unconventional way ( insert smile emoticon here, since I cant add any more pics on this post )

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

Also, on a totally off-topic note, I think it is worth mentioning that, being primarily a painter/modellist, I rarely play games of Warhammer, so when I actually dusted off my old pirate-themed Dogs of War army and played a game 'gainst the relatively new Dark Elves, proceeding to swashbuckle my way to victory, it was for me a momentous occasion indeed! I just thought i'd share a pic of that army with you. Enjoy!

And of course, feel free to leave any questions, comments, and crit on my work. These things are greatly appreciated!

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

Wow, how long's it been since i've updated? I suppose I should offer some sort of explanation as to my great misdemeanor and inconsistency in painting, eh?

    Well, it's like this:
I got sidetracked one day when I started painting models for golden daemon, but then i think to myself "why am I doing this? I'd rather be painting MY projects!"

Currently working on a Ork army (probably should start a thread about that, actually.)

My WoC project has not been lost sight of, however! It's just been experiencing a long delay is all, heheh. I've decided I'm probably gonna roll up my 40K and Fantasy projects into one project and then have a go at putting that on the general threads, so if any one, like you, bob_the_small, wishes to see what's next, It'll all be there. I can tell you, I do have some surprises in store, as my list has *once again* changed Quite Dramatically....

    Re: Seriously? ANOTHER Warriors army?

Now this army is Chaos all the way. Gore, blood and more gore. Especially the marauders look really cruel but that's exactly how they are described in the army book. And the swamp thing...WOW, you couldn't have been more original with this.
