    Albino Lizardmen (pic heavy)

"A complete Lizardmen army with the mark of the old ones, what could be cooler then that?"

With this in mind, I started to look for a color scheme that resembled this idea.

I knew that I had to paint more then 40 skinks (to start with). So I wanted to use a simple technique that gave a descent result.

This is the first skink I finished in the color scheme that would form the basis of my army.

And with this skink the real work began...

After the first skink I started working on the first skink unit:

A unit of skinks with blowpipes

Javelin skinks couldn't be left behind...

    Re: Albino Lizardmen (pic heavy)

I got tired from painting skinks, so I turned my attention to the special section of the lizardmen army.

    Saurus cav:

    And terradons:

More pics of the terradons will follow later.
For now the bases are only sanded...

My girlfriend contributed to the project, she painted me this skink priest (she converted it from a skink handler).

What would a lizardmen army be without a scarvet.
My best friend painted and converted this temple guard model.

Many thanks to both, my best friend and my girl, for these contributions.

Painting character models is the fun part, so I painted a scarvet myself.

With a priest painted and 2 scarvets All I needed was some lord models.
The first one on my wanted list was the slann.
This is what my slann looks like:

I need to build up some suspense don't I

    I really like this model.
One of the best painted models I've got (so far).

    Re: Albino Lizardmen (pic heavy)

Well, all I needed now to fill the lord section was an old blood
    ... on a carnosaur.

So far I've been posting the results of my work, now you can see some of the steps allog the way:

A carnosaur without an old blood is just not good enough.

    Characters, check.
    Core, check.
Special, err, just skinks, saurus cav and terradons, that's not an army.
Time to start working on some salamanders

    And some kroxigors:

There you go. That's how simple things can be.
Krox and salli's taken care off.

After That I saw the basing result on the krox, I desided to use plants on the rest of the bases too.

Ones you get started, it's hard to stop.
What follows is a step by step gallery, of the birth of my steggi.

    His base:

The grey spots on the base give away that I undercoated it with the steg on top of it.
    Here's why:

A massive beast like this should be firm in place, hence the pin vice.
    Time to pin the steg.

Some marks are needed for a smooth fit.

    No more gaps:

    Final layer of undercoat

The attentive vieuwer has spotted the scarvet, undercoated and on another base.
I usually work on different projects simultaniously. If you go back to the scarvet I painted, you'll see that it's got a different base.
Something else I do frequently is change course along the way.

Up next, painting the base of the steg:

Some old blood on a carnosaur couldn't wait...
