Thread: BoyMilla's log of this and that!

Those Eldar are amazing. With the Dark Flesh glaze, are you coving all of the yellow with the first glaze ? I assume if you are using a few glazes you're progressively covering less area and working back towards the shading, yeah ?

Out of interest, I see you sprayed the basecoat on some stuff. did you have any problems with the yellow going a bit orange if you sprayed too much ?

Edit, also, would you mind telling me the ratios in your glaze, please.

Lovely stuff as always, the wraithguard look terrific as a squad. Am looking forward to seeing you paint a tank in that scheme too, the crewman is a very good start.

Thanks everyone! Sorry for delay in responses, I generally try to have something to show each time I post.

Thanks mate, the dark flesh glaze is difficult to explain, not sure on the ratios, its quite watery. It's almost like tinted water. The aim is not to flood the model with it but a controlled wash to tint the brightness off the yellow. I hope that makes sense.
On the wraithguard I only did one layer of glaze, whereas on the guardians I did 2-3 and worked it into the recesses.

Not too many problems, I did add a tiny amount of dark flesh into a pot of sunburst to make the yellow cover slightly better.

And for everyone who's been waiting for the falcon.........
You may have seen this already if you check out the tale of 40K painters.

Next up will be a wave serpent, I've finished the pilot already.
Thanks for the comments and for looking!

Wow, that is bright! It looks great. I like the cleanness of it, but were you tempted to do any freehand bits on the wings?

The Falcon looks great boymilla. I was concerned it would look a bit flat but it turned out great. The only remark is that i would have painted the bottem part of the turret black, just like the bottem of the Falcon. But that's more a matter of taste really.

Wow, that Falcon is really beautiful. The bonus here is not only do you have a fully painted tank BUT it would look nice sitting on a mantlepiece somewhere too!

Your skills with painting yellow are commendable- my first army all those years ago were Ulthwe and the yellow helmets were a constant nightmare :P

Your Bloodbowl Humans look stonking by the way, as do the Iyanden in general, well done mate.

Wow, it's been a long time since an update.
I've painted nothing, literally nothing in the last six months!

I've come to the realisation that I won't get round to half the things I'd been planning so I'm having a little sell off!
    If anyone's interested, here's a link.

When I do some more painting I'll put up some pics

More painting may be on the horizon.
But in the meantime selling a bit more stuff that I won't get done.

I'm hoping it'll motivate me not having so much stuff kicking around.
    Hopefully back soon!
