Disappointed by no Hassassin Farzan, but everything is nice. Yudbots are pretty cute, actually...

    The Sphinx is too cool!

Don't know about the Wolver though, I'm thinking it's the new Minute-man.

    I thought the same thing.

Though the way his legs are, it doesn't look like it'd be that hard it would be turn him 90 degrees so he's standing upright. Then have look like he's steadying himself against a pole or ruined column.

Love my new glue gun prowler!

The Wulver is perhaps a tad too airborne?

The Wolf is looking like much fun. I think if you bend him a bit to be less parallel to the ground, it would look better. This way he looks a little bis like zero G environment.

Prowler looks nice; I'm sure that this one will be quite popular. I mean what's not to like about a camouflaged adhl?

By the way, I finally had my first game (200pts) tonight. Very educational; got utterly wrecked by Yu Jin. But it was fun any I'm very much looking forward to the next game. I really need to get a Daktari and maybe a hacker at some point.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

I've been playing most weeks for the last couple of months and finally feel like I've got a grasp on 95% of the rules (still getting to grips with camouflage and hacking).

I'm really loving Infinity. I wouldn't go so far as to say it'll be my main game, but once I've got my force painted and expanded to 300 pts or so I will definitely keep playing regularly.

As for the new releases: what do Yudbots need breasts for?

Why is the female Caledonian partaking in a wet t-shirt contest and wearing a street hooker skirt?

Hi everyone! Just started looking at Infinity. Checking out the various factions. I've heard that they're all more or less equal. Is that true?

    Because it's cool.

The factions aren't more or less equal in terms of models and equpment. The game system is the balance to the Factions. And even within factions, you can create specialty troops which change the way the whole army plays. Yu Jing is one of the most CC oriented armies, but It's perfectly feasible to build a tough as nails shooting force.

Take for instance Ariadna, no power armor or TAG's, almost no heavy armor, but they have lots of light fast troops, cheap heavy weapons, and lots of drop troops and very beastly infantry. Pan O has mostly heavy armor, TAG's, some skirmish troops, hackers and more. But the Hackers are basically useless against Ariadna. Haqqislam has Doctors everywhere where most people only have medics (medics are inferior Doctors basically). And this doesn't even scratch the surface of these particular factions.

Each faction has it's own specialty except Nomads, Which do a little to a lot of everything. And there are Mercenary units which may be able to Supplement you armies shortcomings.

It's all very novel, and more about using the proper response to a given threat, and luck of the dice. It's a critical based system, so a lucky roll .05% chance can ruin someones plan with even your lowliest of models.

Nomads' strengths would be hacking, repeaters, and remotes. They have the only remote with a feuerbach, which is a AP weapon like a 40k melta...plus did I mention the robot can run straight up walls? Good luck hiding your heavies. Plus, due to repeaters, heavies and TAGs are rarely safe when fighting Nomads.

I would pick the faction with the models you like most, then you can tailor your playstyle within the faction. Remember you only need 7-14 models for an average game, so get ones your like!

Hey guys question, I was looking at the haqqislam, Kameel remotes, are they even remotely good ?..What does the baggage rule they have mean ? Can they transport other members of my group around ? I am just wondering as they are pretty expensive to buy if they suck real bad. Though they look pretty cool.
Hard pressed on my right; my left is in retreat. My center is yielding. Impossible to maneuvre. Situation excellent. I am attacking. - General Ferdinand Foch to General Joseph Joffre during The Battle of the Marne, 1914.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

All the rules are available online, for you to look them up. From the Infinity Wiki, it gives the text of the Baggage equipment as "Provisions, supplies and ammunition are key elements in long term operations, or in those developed far away from military supply lines. Baggage is Special Equipment which represents these supplies.

Baggage adds an extra 20 points to the Victory Points which its carrier would normally provide.

This increase in Victory Points is only used to work out the Retreat! percentage and the Victory Points the adversary receives from taking down or capturing the carrier of this piece of Equipment. "

They're not combat remotes - they're support remotes, whether that be minesweepers, light supporting fire (not quite as good as the other Remotes with Total Reaction and an HMG, but cheaper and more heavily armoured) or providing advanced hacking support - the EVO Repeater looks like it could be a nasty bit of kit.

I'd like to pick up a Nomads force, but I'd have to convince my friend to start Infinity with me. He's a pretty hardline 40k player though, so we'll see.

Naaah....it's not. It is mainly stupid, perhaps slightly entertaining (subjectively, of course). Which is not at all unusual in miniatures games, and thus not really a big problem; there is plenty of silly stuff with the competitors as well. But it does "explain" why Yudbots have boobies - CB likes to add these quirky little "fanservice" details to some of their models.

It is worth noting that the Kameel are the only Haqqislam remotes with any armor whatsoever. That, and EVO is a nice buff for your hackers and jump troops.

Oh, and the first of the October models are leaked...the first being Hussein al-Djabel, Fiday special character: http://www.infinitythegame.com/forum...d.php?tid=7373

I simply chalk up the "Caledonian exotic dancer", the high heels and thongs on powered armour and suchlike as the price I pay for the rest of the game being so cool.

It's not so much the fanservice - there's plenty of scope amongst the ninjas, Odalisques and various Nomad units for that sort of thing. It's that verisimilitude and consistency of design are sacrificed for it; the Ariadnan troops are supposed to by grizzled soldiers from an untamed frontier world - so why are the men wrapped up in fatigues and a furry hat, and the women are flouncing about with their bits out?
