Is there a restriction on the number of figures I can have on the board? I know if I field more than 10 they have to be in combat groups (is that good or bad?)

Oh and where does the Chasseur fit in? IS he a Kazak?

We don't know anything either...and short of anyone emailing CB directly...or Interuptor posting either here or on TTG (Fat Chance), we're out of the loop.

If someone on Warseer has good conections with CB, I would hope they'd let us know.

I am surprised that no one started new site problems post prior to this last outage.

AHAHAHA! So this is where everyone is hiding!
    Infinity lives on!

    Ok, some rules questions.

    FO through repeater/Hacking Device Plus

If a Meteor Zond is in my enemy's deployment zone and I give an order to an Interventer to FO an enemy model through the Meteor's repeater, does my enemy get an ARO shoot against the Meteor Zond? (THe rules says the only reaction one can ARO to the FO is dodge with LoF)

My rationale is no, since the Meteor Zond is NOT receiving the order.
My opponent argued that he can ARO the Meteor Zond because the Interventer is using the Zond's repeater.

If you cannot ARO shoot the Meteor Zond, this is quite a powerful combination and I'm loving it.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

as far as i know, no aro that way-zond is not the active model, and you can only aro those(same way you can't ARO a mine being laid if you only see the mine and aren't in ZoC)

Shakespear-nope. his rules are in the file with new units for ariadna..well,currently unavailible due to the site's failure. He's one of the units from the upcoming supplement.
oh,what the hell..http://rapidshare.com/files/18978799...spdfs.zip.html here is a ZIP with all the up-to-date files for infinity(well, aside for markers). However, Rapidshare has only 10 DL's per file so if someone would like to re-upload after using it'be nice

Hey Magno, good to see you man! I’m going to dissent, I would say that if the target has LOF, then they can dodge, regardless of whether the attack is coming through a repeater or straight from the hacking device plus. I would think that this would offset the ability to attack without LOS in the ZOC. Apparently non-hackers have the “ability” to tell when they are being directly marked. I mean, ‘cmon, it’s not like they can shoot back in either case! Go ask over on the O-12 forum, I would think that Ruther would be in the know. Let us know when you find out, that’s a good one, because I’m planning on buying the Meteor & Interventor anyways! LOL!

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

All my pre-TTG contacts with CB were through the old forum's PM system. Now I'm about as out now, as anyone else.

That's why I was hoping other Infinity lurkers here may have better contacts, and let us know when something would be re-started.

It's Magno! And, I always thought Neko was over here, I just never knew it was you!

Well, I think it's time for a roll call, so who do we have?

    Me (Phoenix Blaze, duh)
Poko (Pokpoko, actually why is that?)
    Duelist (KILLALLGODS)
    Nekokoneko (Lithian)
Dark Eldar, you're on the forums aren't you? I remember you used that name on the old forums, but did you ever change it?
    Aurelien,
    LostTemplar and
    Magno....

Am I missing anyone? If so, just add your name to the list and accept my apologies for forgetting!

I need to contact Mandrake soon, normally he's my informant on...."things" but alas, the site is still dead. Time to go and compain to CB via their website.

    I think it's just "contact@corvusbelli.com

I'm not so sure on the Karakuri thing myself. For YJ HI, it's actually pretty reasonably cost. Imagine if it were AVA TOTAL instead of AVA 1.

There's no hard limit on the number of figures you can have in your army. You're restricted by points cost, SWC in some cases, and Availability (AVA).

The group thing limits the maximum number of "order monkies" you can have feeding orders to other units. It's not really a good or a bad thing for any particular army, it's a balance thing that affects all armies so I call it a good thing. It prevents players from getting 1 TAG and 19 cheap infantry as order monkies to pass it orders and calling it an "300 point army." Even 1 TAG and 9 cheap infantry can be a pretty nasty army to face if you haven't faced armies like that before and haven't figured out how to cope with it.

And it's just Darkeldar....so I never had to change it anywhere. I do alot of lurking now, but adding my 2cents in when I feel like it. The only place I don't have my "name" it is on Steam, and there I'm TheDarkeldar, because not having any new computer games till I bought the Orange Box, to celebrate the new computer, it got taken.

I guess my quoting from here worked to bring Magno in.

    Hi.

Just gettin' that out of the way so I'm not accused of further lurking.

New player, dead-ish local gaming scene, loving what I've seen of the game so far, hoping to convince a couple of the locals to stray from GW (they whine enough about the company already) blah blah blah.

I know the terrain thing was hashed over a few pages back, but has anyone got any particular favorite themes or suggestions on other bits to pick up cheap? Modular/pre-made terrain is usually okay but... I'm not so much a fan of printed cardstock, ad the resin stuff usually looks sweet but it gets prohibitively expensive.

I've been emailing CB recently about some demo stuff, I've sent another mail to try and get some answers, given them the link to this thread, so we'll see what happens.

Also: Thanks to Pok for throwing up the zipped pdfs. I was going nuts.

The IMEX & Pegasus stuff you can get at the Warstore gets good reviews.

    http://www.thewarstore.com/IMEXPlatformerHexagon.html

Hirst Arts is an option as well.

    http://www.hirstarts.com/

Electric wall boxes for outlets & light switches seem to be the rage now as well. You can get bracket-free ones at Home Depot/Lowes for around $3 to $5 each, or dirt cheap ones at Wal-Mart for $0.27.

The IMEX stuff I'd seen before, (was actually tempted to pick up the chem plant a few days back while poking around a gaming store I got pulled to while on vay-kay) and it actually looks nice enough. I may stop talking myself out of it next time.

Hirst is new to me though, and there's some gorgeous work in their gallery. Thanks!

I'd been using expanded foamy parts from printer cartridge packing. The ones for the Xerox plotters make some crazy nice bunkers if you can fill in the funny little gaps. Nothing ruins my enjoyment of a good piece of terrain like looking right at it and having it practically scream FOAM. I do miss the old GW foam packing trays though... glue 'em up, slap on some masking tape, cut as desired, paint, go.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

Amera has a lot of nice(well, judging from the pics) urban terrain, but even a wilderness terrain is possible-you need some hills forests, maybe tall grass(someone said cut up doormats are good for it), and lots of LOF blocking terrain-impassible mountain pieces, big fallen tree trunks(Zuzzy has some), and maybe a smack of cottages or research building in the middle? All of that is easily obtainable at any webshop that deals in wargaming terrain.

I like that idea of selling moulds and casting things yourself.

I too have contacted CB about the INF site. I'll give it a few days before I expect a reply.

Terrain is what really makes a game of Infinity. Even 40K style city ruins never tends to be enough, resulting in far too many AROs and firing lanes.

The Amera stuff does actually look pretty nice at a glance--sad part being it's across the pond for me, so I hate to drop in a small order to confirm quality on since the shipping is gonna kill me and I hate to drop wads of cash on a large order for something that I don't know the quality on at all. Blargh.

The rest of the sites look good, aside from the fact that I barely habla the eengleesh, much less spreken ze deutch... Pictures are groovy, but It's nice to have the commentary.

That's pretty much what I'd gotten from looking at a quick demo and reading over the rules. Being an old 'Nid/Eldar player, I've always been big on having plenty of terrain--my enforcement of the 25% terrain coverage "suggestion" is semi-legendary in these parts. But I figured stepping up my collection and putting some more together wouldn't be a bad idea.

Being a big DIYer, and an even bigger cheapskate I love bargain bin aquarium plants. Cut/resize as needed, spray paint if it's goofy colors and seal it up with a matte spray. Yard/garage/whatever sales also yield up plenty of used aquarium bits which make great terrain after a quick bleach bath and the same treatment.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

    Hello everybody,

To those who maybe doesn't identify my nick and avatar, I'm one of the Infinity developers and Corvus Belli staff member.

Just land here only to calm down any strange rumor that can be running through the net about the Infinity website and Corvus Belli.

The excessive traffic of our website has took down the server, it seems that we need a dedicated server which it is the only way to support the high amount of visits to the Infinity website.

Curiously those problems begun when the host company provides us with an enhancement of resources...

Now, we have BrandoCastro working to solve that, to get a dedicated server in the same company we were, or to move the site to another.

As that is not my area of business I don´t know when this we´ll be fixed, I´m sorry for that, but I hope the web will be running up as soon as possible...

Apart that, things going normal in CB, the sculptors are modeling, Angel is painting and translators are working on the next month new rules and background. About that, French players had a little preview of February releases in the last Ravage magazine.

And, replying Magno, and as Pokpoko said, the Remote is not activated by Order so any figure can get ARO against it

Thanks a lot for your patience, and sorry again!

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

Okay, so on a non-official, non-affiliated forum, I basically just saw a direct reply from a developer/designer of a game. Said reply contained the words "Thanks" and "Sorry."

I am boggled, amazed and thoroughly impressed.

    Thank you, Interruptor.
